DOCSIS 3.1 – the game changer for cable TV and Internet

DOCSIS 3.1 supports new speeds through old good copper-cable?

Comcast plans for HFC, Hybrid Fiber-optic and Cable, for 1-gigabit speeds.

The last I heard, they were planning for 2-gigabit Fiber in my area, but at a cost of $300/month with professional equipment and installation.  :(  When their fiber gets this far, that is.

Depends on where you live.  I think that I have a 3.0...will have to check.  You have higher rates than I do.  Some cities are getting the 3.1 now and others later.

I think that mine is like 180 down and 20 up.

Looked today, I'm DOCSIS 3.0 but Spectrum may have plans to go higher. A fiber line to my house is like 500/mo
