Vanaraud
DOCSIS 3.1 supports new speeds through old good copper-cable?
Leader RedBaird Posted May 3, 2017 Leader Share Posted May 3, 2017 DOCSIS 3.1 supports new speeds through old good copper-cable? Comcast plans for HFC, Hybrid Fiber-optic and Cable, for 1-gigabit speeds. The last I heard, they were planning for 2-gigabit Fiber in my area, but at a cost of $300/month with professional equipment and installation. When their fiber gets this far, that is. I think that I have a 3.0...will have to check. You have higher rates than I do. Some cities are getting the 3.1 now and others later. I think that mine is like 180 down and 20 up. A fiber line to my house is like 500/mo
