UPS battery causing beeping noise...replace battery...

If you have ever had this happen, and it keeps telling you that you're battery cannot be recharged and you have to replace it, don't.

Here is an easy way to tell the UPS that you did replace the battery.

You will need to create a device that will drain the battery completely.  I use a 60W light bulb, but you can use any 12v device you want.

Remove the battery, then hook it up to your draining device.  I soldered two wires to a light bulb (+ and -) and connected them to the battery using

crimp on blade connectors. Then I left it overnight until the bulb died.

Then you hook it up to any 12v auto charger and put it on 6 amp charge.  Let that go until it says the battery is charged.  When you put the battery

back into the UPS unit, it will think it is a new battery.

I have done this 3 times to my UPS.  It works everytime.
