I wonder if complaining to Comcast will help.  Could they set their 50.242.150.34 node to avoid scnet?

IP: 50.242.150.34

Hostname: 50.242.150.34
ISP: Comcast Cable
Organization: Comcast Cable
Services: None detected
Type: Broadband
Assignment: Static IP

Once Elf's packets get to Comcast nodes in Colorado, they match mine & Nerbil's.
Qwertyuiop's matches the 9,10, 11 and 12 in Elf's tracert, and Q is very close to the server.  That must be especially frustrating!

@Qwertyuiop,

did you two use this page:  https://www.servercentral.com/support/contact-us

+ Scab. near Memphis, Tennessee, can't get on Jay#1 either.  His ISP is Comcast.

ISP is Comcast and I still haven't been able to log on.

I collected 2 more players (sleepy (Balzak on forums) & Ratf!nk) who cannot connect and they are all Comcast users.  Those who provided Tracerts show their packets using Comcast nodes, then the "50.242.150.34" Comcast and then to scnet.net.  Sleepy's had even more scenet.net nodes show up, but no connection to our beloved Jay#1.

Interesting.  Red said that euro players cannot connect.  They would not be using Comcast.  It would be nice if we could find ONE non-comcast user to share a trace to eliminate that variable, but I am still apt to think the problem is not with comcast since they hop to a network outside their own.

It's possible that we could wind our way up the Comcast bureaucracy to a tech level where they even understand what BGP is, and that they could reroute for us.  But if non Comcast users are also affected, this would be a band-aid and still leave some potential players out in the cold.

If Comcast has routed that route, I think they should be able to avoid that node easy. IDK how,  but they can control the flow of West coast and East coast information in a control center. :)

Hey REDB!!!! and others!

I just got a email from Chris @ scnet.net  which I sent them my trace-route info.

I escalated your inquiry and have the following:

“The final hop on your traceroute is the end of ServerCentral's network. We have no visibility beyond that last hop. We have reached out to the party who is responsible for the network beyond that last hop and they have requested you contact them via their website at https://www.gameservers.com/contact/ in regards to any issue you are experiencing.”

 support@gameservers.com

I hope this helps.

Awesome, response from somebody Elf. I filled out the form on https://www.servercentral.com/support/contact-us and sent an E-mail to support@servercentral.com.

Now, with Elf's new information, send E-mails with your tracert.exe results to: support@gameservers.com

I decided on a little masochism and called Comcast tech support.  The tech is very nice and all and verifies the IP is not reachable, but he's forced to ask me crap like whether I'm using wifi or a wired connection and whether I own or lease my equipment. *sigh* Stuck at tier 1...  I think we'll have much better luck with trying to talk to these gameservers guys.

Here is the response I got from ServerCentral.com, the same info that Elf received:

Subject: [#CSP-646-83650]: BGP Routing Issue on your network

Hello,

The final hop on your traceroute is the end of ServerCentral's network. We have no visibility beyond that last hop. We have reached out to the party who is responsible for the network beyond that last hop and they have requested you contact them via their website at https://www.gameservers.com/contact/ in regards to any issue you are experiencing.

Have a Good Day,

The FA Owner has trouble ticket with gameservers, but ... he says unprintable things about them.

I will have to get on their mIRC channel to complain again.
