Hey I can get on Jay 2 with no problems but Jay 1 its saying this in console now.

I downloaded a new ET and put my saved my profile into etmain and started the ET and it's still doing this.  Jay 2 and Jay 3 is fine, but its saying this in console when I try to join jay 1.

Any suggestions?

Elfy

Few ways to make it work -

1 - Delete pbns.dat file from pb folder which is located here-  C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\pb

   - Connect to Jay 1 to get new file

2 - Pull down console and type /pb_sv_guidauth 0

   - Try connecting again

3 - Download pbsetup.exe from http://www.evenbalance.com/pbsetup.php

   - Delete or rename the old pb-directory(pb folder where ET is installed) and create a new folder with the same name "pb".
   - Put the pbsetup.exe into the new folder
   - Start pbsetup.exe, follow the instructions and download a completely new pb software.
   - Connect to a server, and you will receive a new pbns.dat from that server when connected.
   - Now your pbns.dat file should be up to date and you can connect to servers again as normal.

Hopefully you should be back up and running again. Reply if not. Good luck!

Man you don't have to delete anything or download any updated pb, pb is down like, since 2011.? And as far as I know PB is not even activated or related in any way on FA servers. You should simply re-install your et (save your et key) and it should work. At least it worked for me some time ago.

I have not been able to connect to jay#1 today.

Tracert just shows 'no response' after 14 hops.

DOS ping gets no response.

TBS and GameTracker show jay1 as up and players on it.

I just chatted with the Comcast troubleshooter and ended up getting a number for a more advanced trouble-shooting section.  I will call them tomorrow if the problem does not fix itself.

The last half of my Tracert looks like this :

11 74 ms 69 ms 73 ms be-10563-pe01.350ecermak.il.ibone.comcast.net [68.86.82.158]

Trace complete.

Those IPs after the backbone nodes are meaningless as they seem to be registered to the company's offices, not their machines locations.  Otherwise, I would think that my packets went past Chicago to Pennsylvania and then back west to Eureka, California. :D

Elf, 8-balls and I (+LeftWingVixen +Nerbil +qwertyuiop +scab.) are not able to connect.  I suspect a problem with a node near Chicago.  I wonder if we not-connects are all west and/or south of Chicago.

Does anybody know of any IPs in Chicago that I could use for tests?

The Comcast tech had "optimized" my modem/router/wireless/telephone and then restarted it several times.  After I got off the online chat with him, the modem++ has been restarting and looking like they are fiddling with it.  It restarts, the WiFi light comes on, the Tel2 light comes on...it restarts.

My Internet may be intermittent, or maybe not.   :D

Buck's reply to a Tracker topic, revealing that some European players are having the same problem:

Monday April 17th 8:19 PM

2 European Members report They can't connect to Jay1...

It may be Net nodes down.

I've seen that before...We'll have to see what happens...

I cannot connect to Jay1 (Recruiting) either. I have tried on two Windows PCs, from two different broadband connections. Both ways fail to connect. I have tried to connect via jay1.clan-fa.com:27960 or via 8.9.4.227:27960.

I am in the Western US, connecting via Comcast.

My traceroute results are similar to above, showing non-forwarding packets from scnet.net. My packets transfer from Comcast to 50.242.150.34, to 204.93.204.83, to 204.93.204.81, and then die with no return.

scnet.net, resolves as ServerCentral.net, which is in Chicago, maybe the ISP/hoster that the server is connected to?

https://www.whois.com/whois/scnet.net

It looks like scnet.net has a non-functioning router at 204.93.204.81.

A traceroute from Texas to Jay1 succeeds:

http://centralops.net/co/Traceroute.aspx?addr=8.9.4.227&ip-version=4&no_resolve=true

This routing outage is specific to that part of the country we are connecting from. Connecting through ServerCentral.net, Western US connection (204.93.204.81), is blocking network traffic.
