oldport Posted April 5, 2017 Share Posted April 5, 2017 i need some help... been playing for years... and on the FA server for years... all of a sudden when i launch ET it starts but complete lag just in the launch screen where it takes forever to just deal with the lag to click on a server to try to launch the game... then it never launches... main point is that as soon as I click the program to launch there is something putting the program in super slow motion before I can even get into a game.... happened all of a sudden the other week... don't know of any new programs I installed... tried to go back and uninstall anything I thought may have been within that time frame... i have tried to delete and redownload multiple times and still nothing works.... I have one system restore point.. not sure at what point it was created (before or after ET started not working) but I can't get that to restore and i have tried to reinstall windows 10 with the original system files but that seems to always not work out in the end just as my system restore.... I have mine set to not automatically do updates, but only downloads. On the down side, I didn't get notifications of the last downloads. oldport Posted April 7, 2017 Author Share Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the tips... cfg shouldn't have anything to do with it because I never changed anything before this happened and i have tried a clean install of ET... as with the windows i do see updates potentially around that date in the history... but i don't know how to retract them to see if that can solve the issue or even if i'm able to. As with r_primitives that would be in a cfg right? If so i'm not loading from anything on the clean run. Just missing playing this game... my usual go to thing after work for many years. Leader RedBaird Posted April 7, 2017 Leader Share Posted April 7, 2017 You can start ET and do an /r_primitives command in the console. I don't remember if you have to do a /vid_restart or not. You should be able to look at the History of your updates and revoke one or more of them. I have seen the commands, but I have never done it myself. Maybe you should set a restore point first.
