My new garage sale find

parrot

Recommended Posts

Found this at a garage sale by our house. Lady had no idea what she had.

Dell Precision T3400
Core 2 quad @ 2.6 Ghz
8 GB PNY ram
500 GB Seagate 7200rpm hard drive
EVGA GTX560ti graphics card

Price?

5 dollars

Took her home, cleaned out the dust, slapped Fedora 24 on it, and I'm just waiting to get my new monitor to transfer my current one over to it. Gonna make an excellent second computer for my kids.post-8437-0-66705100-1476026242_thumb.jpgpost-8437-0-30163400-1476026255_thumb.jpg

Just looked it up.

Some recertified ones are for sale at $145, BUT only 2gb ram, no OS, 80gb HD, motherboard GPU = Ho, Ho, Ho, Mr. Parrot!, you "Santa Claused" yourself!  :D

I see that manuals for it are available online.  Have fun.

BTW, one configuration, with the Extreme CPU, has a fingerprint reader and a "case intrusion prevention" system. (?)

no fingerprint reader lol. Yeah, I figure all together worth around 430 bucks. Putting Windows on it now, since I realized having a true Windows box will make my life easier for work. (and I have MSDN from work, so no cost there)
