What has happened?

A referendum - a vote in which everyone (or nearly everyone) of voting age can take part - was held on Thursday 23 June, to decide whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union.

Leave won by 52% to 48%.

The referendum turnout was 71.8%, with more than 30 million people voting. It was the highest turnout in a UK-wide vote since the 1992 general election.

What was the breakdown across the UK?

England voted strongly for Brexit, by 53.4% to 46.6%, as did Wales, with Leave getting 52.5% of the vote and Remain 47.5%.

Scotland and Northern Ireland both backed staying in the EU. Scotland backed Remain by 62% to 38%, while 55.8% in Northern Ireland voted Remain and 44.2% Leave.

What happens now?

For the UK to leave the EU it has to invoke an agreement called Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.

Cameron or his successor needs to decide when to invoke this - that will then set in motion the formal legal process of withdrawing from the EU, and give the UK two years to negotiate its withdrawal.

The article has only been in force since late 2009 and it hasn't been tested yet, so no-one really knows how the Brexit process will work, according to BBC legal correspondent Clive Coleman.

Mr Cameron, who has said he would be stepping down as PM by October, said he will go to the European Council next week to "explain the decision the British people have taken".

EU law still stands in the UK until it ceases being a member - and that process could take some time.

The UK will continue to abide by EU treaties and laws, but not take part in any decision-making, as it negotiates a withdrawal agreement and the terms of its relationship with the now 27 nation bloc.

At the reaction of UK leaving EU, prime minister David Cameron resigned from his position. Problems occur now towards Scotland, as they voted in majority to remain in EU and are expected to make a new vote towards independace, on the other side, Northen Ireland wished for unity to have united Ireland again, does that mean that there will be no more UK, as the polls divided everyone on half, considering that the votings were so close, with majority of young and educated people voting in favor to remain in EU, while older population and less educated voted to leave.

Other countries from EU, such as The Netherland, France and Italy shown interest in making similiar moves, with proposal of leaving the EU as well, British Pound (lowest since 1985) along side Euro have had significant drop, while American Dollar and gold prices are going up in the sky.

Does this mean the end of European union with one of the strongest economical countries decided to leave the EU, what does that mean for the Brits themselves, what will change and how will their day to day life be now.

So yeh, pretty much sums up what has been going on since yday, considering there was no news about it, i decided to sum up some stuffs, whereas there's a lot more into it than written above, in bottoms up, tons of shits are to be going on now, with people not being aware of the missleading promises in terms of independace, where for first, the money that was given from UK towards EU budget on weekly bases, was promised at first to be now added into health insurance, but now it has been already cleared out that it was all the time just another lie out of many to convince citizens in order to vote to leave.

the rich and those who trade much in EU have benefits from it same for the policics more people more power
the diffirence between east / south and west/north europe is simply to big I think thats basicly the biggest reason why a lot of people want to leave.
before entering europe there was a workers shortage company's offered great salary's often also a study but because in south / east europe the wages generally are much lower those people come in massive amounts working in west / north europe ofcourse you can't blame them for wanting a better salary  / basics.
now due to many workers company's treat many workers like shit and why shouldn't they for you 10 others also the huge amount of money that went from north to south europe and going to brussel is simply not to explain to the citizens when you see here so many things get cut our pensions get cut salary's simply lowered and often on tempory base the healthcare is getting cut also older people dont get the care that they should have. tax on salary's vacation money yearly tax report got increased tremandously.
then ofcourse the law / rules all get forced by brussel its fully understandable the avarage worker with a low or medium salary want to leave the wages will rise a lot when there is a workers shortage.

and also the treath of when you leave you will go bankrubt or anything simply is bullshit you simply make new contracts because everyone want to earn and selling to brittain makes many rich
and then those country's that didn't join the EU are generally the most wealthy country's in the world for example switserland.

all with all with this said I understand why they want to leave and I hope the netherlands will follow as soon as possible the only advantage for the normal citizen is free travel and same currency in many country's that`'s it

Now that UK leave, the rest should follow and kill the union for good. The sooner the better. The rest of the countries that stay now will get an extra big fat bill to fix the financial cap UK leaves and with the financial situation atm, it means that the whole EU, excluding Germany will take a deep dive into the shit trying to rescue the "poor" fellows.

Add to this the waiting 65 million "refugees" coming to leech all around EU. We have not got through the first wave yet and if UK closes their borders...do the math.

I am very pissed to the EU as whole, including the idiots in Finnish covernment for obeying the EU policy. I dont care about pollutions that we possibly leave to our kids, but I am worried that they have to live possible poor and be afraid of the other cultures taking over the hoods.

Those refugees will start havoc and in fact they have already started. Good luck dealing with refuges. I have always thought strength lies in unity. It doesn't look good for EU.

Idiotic nationalistic behaviour. the UK made itself irrelevant internationally and Scotland + N-Ireland will most likely go independent.

In the end britain will still need trade agreements with Europe (which will be less ideal than now), will still need to make agreements over refugees, ..

Ironicly its the nationalists who ruined the country.

The more rich you are, the more rich you will be. That is how EU works for you if you belong to the well fare part of it. Then you dont care.

They cut the expense from the ppl it affects the most - the poor and lately even from the middle classed. This is just an example from Finland.

They cut from health care - less central hospitals - longer distance for more advanced health care - more expenses for the poor - more heavily in dept - ?

They cut from the education - less schools - longer distance - more students in same school - not enough teachers to watch them all - multi culture, they favor it - confusion - endless points from here towards...

They centralize ppl from other cultures in same points - they make gangs - ghetto - riots - ?

At the same time they cut the amount of police departments - "you name it goes here"

Even if some countries used to have some sense in their laws and policy, the EU has done it more bureaucratic than ever, making it more difficult for a common human to do their business. Yet at the same time creating the loopholes for the leeches to get their advantage and share of their "agony".

Might sound harsh and over exaggerated, but feel free to come live in Finland, get a job you get paid less than average, take a loan to buy a house/apartment, get a wife (partner), have kids and then come to talk to me again if you like EU...In short terms - live the life the majority does. 52 % did had it in UK and I am thankfull they opened this door for a serious discussion and hopefully for some more serious actions.

It used to work well even before the EU if those who remember it, ppl just didn't have the inet to be lazy. These days getting a visa, passport or even a trading contract beetween countries should be just few clicks away. Even as hard task as the currency...There is a contract like the Shengen - allowing ppl to travell without borders...even without papers!

EU making sanctions to Russia, making the nearest neighbour be the messenger and while doing that, making the country and its ppl sink more in the swamp of the bs. Russia might done wrong with the Ukraine, but getting the shit back in our own ass is not doing good for any of the EU countries and Finland is the first to take the consequences as the neighbour.

Brexit-Cartoon.jpg

this picture perfectly describes the situation of the "Union"

European Union or should I say European soviet Union looks good on paper, but ultimately people have to manage it and humanity is frail, power hungry, and mostly dumb

and im not even gonna start on refugee policies

I wish i could just f*** off to some cold forested area, build a house there and live without making any contact with politics

I think Jared Diamond can add another chapter to his book: "Guns, germs and steel"...

Part 5: How the West gave away his power by ignorant civilians who only used false sentiment driven by nationalists and eager media bussiness all thinking on short term satisfaction instead of long term steady government and economics.

Chapter 20: refugees

Chapter 21: Upcoming of nationalists and ultra right parties

Chapter 22: referendum, the beginning of the destruction

Chapter 23: Brexit

Chapter 24: trump, the collaps of the power of USA

Chapter 25: the end of Nato

Chapter 26: start of WW3

the world always has been a hot mess..at this point, overpopulation, especially in poor places, disease.. too many people, not enough jobs...greed..war..and don't get me started on religion..the ideal that my spark will live to swim with others when this body dies is my hope...people always got to disagree and fight over everything....the earth will clean itself of this infestation or we will kill ourselves off to a sustainable population..maybe,if we are lucky..and so the cycle begins again..sad but true..you personally can help others, but to make this work overall for the world is almost impossible.. yeah I have a bottom line way of looking at things..this is just my observation
