Not sure what you want.. Make Java be able to connect on internet\work properly I guess. Make sure Java is allowed through your firewall and is up-to-date just in case.. And\or run Windows Update, the latter might give you a fix.

I had the same problem and as (H)annib@l Lector said check firewall settings (in my case there was the problem - it was blocked) and ofc there is that second option to update both java and your windows (I always got notifications to update wich I always ignored untill half of my programs stopped working xD ) so check firewall to enable it or try update and in the end ofc restart your PC so updates could take effect. Some details about your issue would make it trendously easier to solve your problem.

 

Like, what software are you using?, what OS are you running?, What does the error message say exactly?

 

From what you've said the only advice I could give, is make sure your Java is up to date, and update your PC.

 

Also, why aren't you using a firewall?

OS win 7 - software is called ROSE - java is updated with firewall on or off i still get it Error can not open JPLN or check your internet connect
