League of Legends Tips to become a better player

man I could really go on for days bla bla the list goes on

do the maths on ability power vs penetration, magic resist & armor vs health, and spend the gold you do get efficiently

learn items and their effectiveness - eg buying an abysall scepter because 20 magic resist reduction  in a 2 vs 2 = more damage & mr and is cheaper than a death cap / void staff in a 2 vs 2. (if it applys in your circumstance)

don't trade trades you can't win - give up cs and health / mana if you need to instead of being forced out of lane and dieing.

don't stack crowd control that is less effective when stacked

don't forget to autoattack just because you are playing a mage or spellcaster.

don't follow you team into stupid decisions and die.

learn the costs of the items you need and try to position yourself so that you back with enough gold for a power spike with enough time to defend your objective or trade objectives when an objective is spawning -

eg. push your lane and then back and come back with a large rod in time for dragon without losing your tower, etc.

Don't take risks - unless a) you're 80% sure it will pay off, B) if it does not pay off, your teammates can carry you

buy wards for every play you are making - you should never make a play without vision of your escape route or gank paths which will leave you screwed; unless you have vision of the enemy team (on the other side of the map)

eg. you want to invade the enemy blue buff - buy 1-2  wards from the fountain, ward the blue buff and the mid lane entrance path (where the enemy would cut off your escape route) - you see him coming you get out safe without losing about 500g advantage

buy health and mana potions - especially if you are in a situation where you need to use your mana to cs

- it is better to have them and not need them, losing maybe 100g than need them and not have them.

learn your mistakes and learn not to repeat them if you want to improve - even right them down

don't argue with your teammates, they will perform better when they think they are right - even when they are doing the wrong thing

make the best out of your team - if your teammates suck and you're in platinum - don't try and do a contested baron which would be fine if they have common sense to kite / engage the enemy, and leave you screwed for the next 10 minutes if they are not.

-don't put your teammates in positions where they have to play perfectly, because they will screw it up and it will be your fault for putting them there just as much as theirs for screwing up.

once you have learned a champion enough to concentrate on learning gameplay - and you finish learning the bulk of gameplay - play every champion, learn their abilities and cooldown timers, that way you will perform better against them.

calculate the gold value of your abilities -

eg if you have a 2 minute cooldown on your aoe ult, and dragon is spawning in 1 minute, then the value of your ultimate = (dragon + a creep wave) *2, so don't then use your ult to get 500 gold and then be unable to contest the dragon.

defend your towers when you can

help your jungler if he is being invaded and you will win the trade.

use your trinket ward at 1:00 - 1:20 to protect a jungle entrance.

Don't stay in lane to get a few cs and die - just base

don't overextend

learn how to freeze a lane

learn how to slow push a lane

learn how to zone out your lane opponent

don't be the guy who is asking for ganks and help because he got greedy and gave up a huge advantage

be the guy who is helping out his teammates, killing the enemy jungler and counter ganking

don't waste your mana doing useless shit

learn who, when and how to focus

look at your enemies items as soon as its safe to when you see them

when chasing / running, look at the difference in movement speed between you and the person you're chasing

count the mana of yoru abilites before you commit yourself and then run out of mana

take more risks when you need to

eg. your team is sucking hard and feeding - and theyw ill probably suck for most of the game, especially now they are at an item disadvantage.

this means you must take more risks in lane to get an advantage, or you will be playing at a disadvantage for the rest of the game.

(this doesn't mean you don't buy wards or start trading when you could be ganked - you don't want to also end up at a disadvantage in lane yourself .
