I am looking to move home videos from a camcorder which uses a cassette tape to my computer and then burn to a dvd. What would be the best software to do this in windows 7. Let me know if you need additional information please

I bought the Honestech  VHS to DVD 5.0 Deluxe system.  It does DVD and Blu-ray.

It has software and editing that comes with it.  I did VHS and Digital Tape conversions.

It worked flawlessly.  I got it on sale at Kohl's in December 2012 for $49.  Worth every penny.

Video editing depends on your cpu/gpu.

Windows comes with windows movie maker which is basic editing. I use it for 90% of my Youtube videos. It does lag on weaker systems, but is a great standard editor.

Some other free ones: http://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/best-free-video-editing-software-9-top-programs-you-should-download-1136264

If you want to go more advanced, it'll cost some pretty pennies. I.E. Vegas Pro 13 is like $600 and requires a pretty powerful pc to run optimally.
