Chameleon
I personally think this would be a great choice! Stephen Colbert may be CBS' top choice to replace David Letterman behind the "Late Show" desk, Mashable reports. CruelKind
Great choice, but a better choice would be John Stewart

CruelKind
I like Colbert well enough, but he's too locked into his character. JS is straight forward with his delivery. Much better at coming off sincere and making people hear the underlying issues. Colbert is just too over-the-top for that position.
HecKler
Anyone would be better than Letterman. It's only taking him a little longer than Leno to realize that he's a dinosaur and his schtick is unfashionable, unfunny and tepid at best. However, Stewart wouldn't be picked because he's too liberal/free thinking/political and I don't think he could be counted on to toe the political line prescribed by the network execs.
CruelKind
point... but Colbert will?
parrot
Jon Stewart has a top rated show. Colbert wants/needs to break out of Stewart's shadow. Personally, I really like them both, edge to Colbert for the giant brass balls it took to pull what he did back in 2006 at the correspondent's dinner. Raskin
I think Colbert should stay where he is now..let some other less interesting person take that spot on late show.XD.unless he could breathe new life into it ..
