gun scale command silent read only?

Question

Hi there fellow ET players,

Got a question about a silent command which used to be enabled on the silent1 server, its now READ only.

Talking about the command; /cg_gun_scalefov 0 or 1, when set to 1, whatever you fov is your gun wont change scale. which plays pretty cool.

Now is my question why is it read only now? :P

I found the command on Mygamingtalk some time ago. There was a list with all supported silent commands.

Thanks.

Because you changed it :P

That cvar is from the client side, which means you get to choose to set it on or off. If you want it to be on type /cg_gun_fovscale 1 and it will work ! :)

(and when you loose interest in it type /cg_gun_fovscale 0 to set off again)

Good question though !

I did that. But it still said Read Only.

Thanks anyway for the reply. :)

I tested it out this morning on Silent 1 and had no problems.

Could you post a screenshot or condump of it ? ( i have no ET-access at the moment, will look into it this evening. A bit curious about what is going on :) )

btw did you try to put it in your cfg ?

You were right, I just noticed it too and it is the server side that is forcing it to be 0. And again good question :D

Every player has different things *cheat protected*(CP)

I was checking lot's of cvars on 3 pc's and each one had different behaviour of CP...

Btw Is cg_gun_scalefov that needed? :)

Yea, same here. But look on the bright side, you have bigger view :P

Btw with cg_drawgun 0 it's easier to focus on screen center :)
