1. Use game lagometer to find your lag problem.

Click Me

2. To check your internet:

OS XP:

In Windows, select Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. This will give you a window like the one below.

In that type:

ping -t server IP
Example for F|A #1:

ping -t 8.9.4.227
Let it run for 5 mins and then type ctrl + c.

Post the result.

OS Vista:

1. Click on the windows icon in the lower left of the computer screen.

2. Click on 'Run'.

3. Type cmd when the menu pops up. You will see the text entered at the bottom of the window.

Hit enter. This pulls up the cmd window.

4. Type in ping -t server IP and hit enter. Let it run for 5 mins and then press ctrl + c.

All I need is:

Ping statistics for 74.63.64.44:
Packets: Sent = 22, Received = 22, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 90ms, Maximum = 129ms, Average = 97ms
Control-C
^C

4. PC and other Specs.

Post your pc and other specs and OS while asking for help.

Motherboard:

CPU:

Hard drive (IDE, PATA, SATA, etc):

Graphics card:

Wifi:

Internet Speed:

Do you use router? :

The first link, under the "1." line is not working. With Chrome I get:

This webpage is not available

Reload Hide details

The server at www.q3eu.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS
is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This
error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured
network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall
preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.

Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

www . q3eu  .com gets the same error.

IE says:

Oops! Internet Explorer could not find
www.q3eu.com

Try reloading: www.q3eu.com

in a DOS-window ping www.q3eu.com does get normal reports.

If you guys want to reconize your lag, get the program ping plotter. Ping Plotter shows you the ping for all of the hops it takes till it goes to the IP or website you typed in. other than that, try to stop all downloads that might be taking your internet.

Bump.

It´s under Tutorials now? Not pinned in ET support?

Yes moved it all tutorial since we don't have dedicated tutorial application. We bought it for 40$ but it was buggy and didn't upgraded and has half year renewals as well. Decided to remove it completely so if new updates comes in IPS i can update easily rather then waiting on addon developers.

Looks like i need to update this tutorial. Some old websites referenced don't exist anymore and provide some more steps for debugging as well.

How to recognize your lag.  You look down and see five toes and a heel and it looks hooked to your ankle.  That part which is connected from there to your neather areas is your lag.  Yep thats my lag.  Whats the problem???  :)

apparently only blue is familier with some of the southern slang terms.  Leg in some areas is said laig.  So therefore lag can also be butchered to sound like laig(leg). You know youve failed at jokes when you have to explain them.  sorry

Archived version. It takes a bit of time to load and the images aren't there but the text is still readable.

There's also this writeup that you can have a look at.

Uhm, I also tried wayback in the past and that didn't work.

Now it's the same

I hoped on the writeup where the lagometer uploaded ... but isn't.

Can someone upload the tool by having it on its HDD?

If you remove the 2 'amp;' from the URL I gave it should work, I don't know why they got added when I copied the link over. The images of the lagometer won't appear because they didn't get archived but the text is still worth reading in my opinion.
