It was an interesting idea for packaging! 

 

Side note: This reminded me! Have you guys heard the Koenigsegg is trying to make a camshaftless engine? Pretty revolutionary stuff! How people think of these ideas, I'll never know.

I did make "camless" or better sayed valveless idea in 1991 when thinking ways to build own V8 1:5 engine.

Then I did lost interest for it in few years and after 4-5 years after I heard at it was allready made by some companies and allready did make some test engines of it all ready.

Mine was bit more simple, just metal pipes with side "holes" channels and just open channels on "head" for exh and inlet.

 

Would be nice to see it... there was some test made during that time and they could drop idle revs 200-400rpm and fuel economy was 10 - 20 % better

 

I could not find that article anymore from net (I'll try to find it) and there was some video related on that too.
