They would have to 'cut' their programs onto cards, load them onto card-carts and push them over to the program-loader station. There were the occasional card-cart collisons, resulting in cards from two or more programs mixed together on the floor. There was much cursing before the picking up and hand-sorting commenced. I now suspect that they were racing each other to the card-loader, where the loser had to wait the longest, but who knows what they told the bosses.
