Facebook slowly rolling out new profile layout

The new layout uses a blog-style layout in which more static content such as your likes, personal information, recent activity, and other 3rd party windows are filed into a smaller column which we guess can either be placed on the left or right (since we’ve seen both set-ups). The menu or “Collection” as they call it, can be re-ordered to your liking.

The wider column hosts your more active/chronological wall posts such as recently upload photos, status updates, videos and others. The previous grid of boxes linking to your friends, albums, and other personal items just below the cover has been transformed into a much more subtle and image-less menu. Unfortunately that’s all I know about it since I haven’t received the update. Since my friend has received the update (the one who took the photo), I assume the change should be here shortly.

The rumoured design made its way into the public eye some time last year and looks like it will be finally replacing the horrid adjustable timeline they presently use.

There are also reports that profiles have been mass-transitioning to the new layout in the oceanic regions, so it should go global in the next few days.
