Trouble starting ET

One*Click

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just installed ET to a new computer and I get this error when I start it up:

"Couldn't load default.cfg- I am missing essential files- verify your installation?"

Downloaded it from the link on this website. Just wondering what I have to do to be able to play.

Thank you

Patch your et

http://fearless-assa...7-et-patch-260/

http://fearless-assa...-et-patch-260b/

extract to your etfolder

check if you have these files in your Etfolder

hunkusage.dat

servercache.dat

pak0.pk3

pak1.pk3

pak2.pk3

cgame_mp_x86.dll

qagame_mp_x86.dll

ui_mp_x86.dll

cgame.mp.i386

I'm thinking your missing the pak0, pak1, pak2 files which is usually the problem, if you are ill send them

I have all the files, including all the pak.pk3, except the cgame.mp.i386. Maybe I just can't find it or something.

Now it's saying, "GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem"

......

Btw, I updated my drivers and downloaded directx and still same problem.

U need to have OpenGL drivers. Update your GPU drivers.

Also it seems issue with your resolution?

...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3) ?

Try r_mode 4 through command line. See if that works.

Did u used this download link: http://fearless-assassins.com/files/file/774-enemy-territory-full-version/

?

If you don't know how to find your graphic card

go to start then run and type in dxdiag when the screen pops up click on display...right there it should say the name

I don't have etconfig.cfg because I can't even boot up the game, so I'm not sure how I can change r_mode. It also says it was unable to exec autoexec.cfg

The thing is, I have downloaded ET on this computer with the same graphics card and everything. I reset it to factory conditions about a week ago, but I have never updated any of my drivers prior to the reset. The reason I haven't updated my graphics driver is because when I go on Intel, it tells me that I have a customized computer manufacturer driver and that installing a generic driver could cause errors. So i don't bother because I'm a computer noob.

I've visited my manufacturer site and they told me that I have the latest drivers.. even though I think they're wrong lol.

I can play all my other games fine, except ET. Still haven't tried a few though. If it's too much of a hassle I'll just move on.

Btw, I have a Mobile Intel HD Graphics. The driver is Intel Processor Graphic 3000.

Uninstall ET completely.

Download it from here if you didn't before: http://fearless-assassins.com/files/file/774-enemy-territory-full-version/

Install it. Let me know how it goes.

This error is normally caused when you use an unsupported r_mode. Never heard of this error on first launch .

You could try to make a shortcut for and add r_mode 4 in the path.

Edit:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ET.exe" +r_mode "4"

Edit2: if it still doesn't work add ";r_stereo "0""

Tried it already. Still the same error. My screen flashes grey, then to my desktop, then black, then back to my desktop. Don't know if that helps.

I think it's about time to give up :(

If I can play CS:source and CS:GO then is that weird?

These 2 games both run by directx. Try to update opengl? Don't have any more ideas left, I will do some research when I get home tomorow.

PS: directx and opengl are both differant graphic library.
