The maps have to be from our downloadsection before they are added to the mapcycle, if they ever will be. If the downloadsection doesn't have the map yet, it must be added first. And because nq2 has bots, the maps must have waypoints for the bots to be able to move. If these waypoints are available for download somewhere, upload them to the downloadsection if they are not already there.

 

These were some requirements for maps to be added to the jaymod servers, and when these few were not followed, even naming them would be pointless. I assume it works the same here.

 

The few admins who are allowed to change the mapcycle really appreciate it when their work is enlightened. That work also contains testing the map ingame for bugs, glitches are general fps and lag-issues. If that is done beforehand by the ones who suggest the maps, I assume they will appreciate it and the chances for the maps to be added will be larger. The actual changing of the mapcycle is very very timeconsuming, and the highest admins might not always have that amount of time.

A map has to be known to work properly before it is added, which is I think the main reason why in the end maps like Caen are always added. Because that map is known to work.

 

These were the lessons I was taught when the jaymodservers needed some refreshing:)

Consider this a heads-up to the ones who did not know that changing mapcycles is in fact a massive hassle:)

And if not exist files waypoints for these maps, who will create waypoints for these maps?

 

I downloaded all these maps and I have tested. Some are in winrar archive and have waypoints... but some of them do not have waypoints.

Maps like Al Abbasi (TDM) and LOL_Funpark (FUN) can certainly be played without bots, then there is no need

for waypoints. But what about the others? How long does it take to create waypoints? Shall we replace maps without

waypoints by others?

I don't know the details, but I can guess that creating the waypoints ourselve is a massive hassle. To save the trouble, I would advise to just go for maps that already have waypoints. There are plenty that have waypoints.

 

But uh, I can only give so much advise. I cannot garantee things as I am not a member of staff in this clan. I have some knowledge about what it takes to change a mapcycle, but that's it.

Our staffmembers always ask us to show our opinion on maps here, the download section of the forum. When you see a topic about a map you like, you click on "google +1" on the bottom of the topic. Also tell on which server you would like that map. That way staffmembers and other high level admins can tell how much a map is appreciated. Just check it out.

If the map you like isn't in any topic, you can create your own topic.

Ok, Vojnicina, Ooops and me made a conversation about what to do with maps

without waypoints. We agreed then on replacing them by other maps that do have

waypoints. Those are the following:

 

Replacement maps (all confirmed and with waypoints):

Fueldump Christmas (Final)

Warbell (it's actually already on the server and quite popular. I forgot to put it on the list, sry)

Forest Sniper

Helmsdeep

Dubrovnik (Final)

Praetoria-Mission Two: Hell on Wheels

- can we still add the TDM map Al_Abbasi which is confirmed but doesn't have waypoints? Is it possible to

- Would somebody who is familiar with the subject mind to check if these two maps have the right waypoint files? (I'll send you these two maps then)
