kandya Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 I like the idea and actually we tested this theory on f|a a few days ago, we were just a few memb. and 4-5 players so we had our little knife war. But as soon as the server got full again we had to stop it since we couldn't force them to, so that happen for one map and to be honest it was enjoyable for everyone and peops just love it. I'm not sure but i think there r 1 or 2 servers that runs this type of game in the cod list and its constantly full. That means that there r players looking for something like this and i don't think it would be empty especially if it will have our tags on ... The main concern r the rule breakers will give the admins some hard work not only well have to look out for ls, gl, and marty we will also must add flash, stune, smoke nades and obviously weapons perks to the list. Or, even better, just play knife only and many others will join on it. Eventually, you'll say "KNIFE ONLY PLEASE" on chat and many will do that. Those who don't, well, ignore them (don't kick, they're still playing by the server rules!). If there are to many of the latter, you stop knife only and call it and continue slaughtering the others as usual. It works quite nice every once in a while. However, disagreeing with candy, it is technically feasible. You just say that every weapon is forbidden (and kick on first usuage ). That won't work on flash/stun/smoke, but if that's the only issue it'll be good enough. However, 1. I think it'll become boring too fast. 2. We need more money to support more servers. Check the link of Krauersaut or the donation tab on the frontpage of the forum (currently $326 out of $4600 raised, where $326 is in approx two months and $4600 is the year target). Maybe one weekend every month we can have some sort of event like only knife, sniper, RPG, pistol and things like that. Tom Posted March 17, 2012 Share Posted March 17, 2012 hey kent, I'm glad you finally posted it after we spoke about it the other day, to be honest it'd be better to do it on the HC server as its either empty or very few people in it, so it would be better.. starting a new server would be very hard to keep due to money problems, unless you can donate a hell load of money each month/week... If people join, tell them but do not force them to play only knife. It could be a win - win scenario. The 1.7 HC server will see a bump and you'll get to play only knives!!! P.S. ReedLAb Posted March 18, 2012 Share Posted March 18, 2012 there are a few knife-only clans and knife-only servers mostly based in europe. i've played there many times and it's actually quite fun even when the servers are almost full (15-20 people). ocassionally there are rule-breakers but it's kinda like our marty-tube system where they got auto-kicked. so it's definitely something worthy of exploration.
