Put it this way. Monday is the start of the work week. you then have 4 more days plus monday which makes 5 days of work before you get to the weekend. Which means Saturday and sunday are relax and be lazy days. Friday is the Happy day because its the day when you wind down from the week of work, and prepare for the awesome weekend where you have 48 hours of free time before you have to prepare for the 5 days of work to come.

So friday is happy because it is the last day before you get to relax and have some down time.

It is also called happy Friday, because you finally get to play more ET... The radio host just ignores this fact, which is sad. Perhaps someone should give him a hint as to follow up and install the game on his computer. So he could join the servers and have some real fun.

To sum it up: The radio host subconsciously calls Friday "happy" - as he first has to be enlightened. Once told the real purpose of the week-end, namely gaming, his world view might change and he might come to understand what it's all about.
