How to make firefox faster

Recommended Posts

ok this works with pretty much every firefox version out there.

1st thing you need to do is open a new tab so you can see this guide.

in address bar type in

about:config

you'll get a notification, press the button that says "i'll be careful"

now you'll see a bunch of configs that you can change.

we only need to find 3 so use the find option at the top of the page and find the following then change them

1st one

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

2nd one

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 30.

3rd one

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

now right click anywhere and make a new->integer

name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0"

restart firefox and try it out now. it will be much faster than before.

reasons for this is that firefox default connection is set to 4 connections at the same time.

changing it to 30 will make upto 30 connections to a server and download a webpage at much faster rate

also making nglayout will make a website show as soon as there is some data to be shown, while loading the rest of the website, you'll even visually see the site being loaded

These methods shouldn't have any cons.. Unless they un-do pre-existing modifications you've made.. It will make most websites faster but not all..
