pardon my puny little nub brain but is there a reason why we have jumped to 64 bits and missed out bytes 5,6,&7? :confused

the rule is pretty simple..

with 1 Byte = 8 bits = you can define 256 different colors

2 Bytes = 16 bits = 65.536 colors

3 Bytes = 24 bits = 16.777.216 colors

4 Bytes = 32 bits = 4.294.967.296 colors (including transparencies)

well i run vista 64 and never had an issue finding drivers

Yep, but try finding them to Win7 64-bit. It has been up for just a little while and has a small amount of drivers. But still, you can find that some of the XPs drivers are compatible with Win7.

Hope the drivers developers fovus on 64-bit soon :)

I'm wondering why Microsoft doesn't sell a 128 bit Windows 7 yet. I mean, come on, is there still a PC with less than 192GB of RAM out there? I've recently added another 512GB to make a total of 1024GB. ET runs super fast now. No lags anymore.

I run the interwebz on my 1024GB machine ^^.

128 bit cpus are planned for 2013 and also windows operating system ! :yahoo

Because all the drivers for 64 bit work great already, eh? Linux looks better all the time.

Is this thread getting moved to spam soon? :spam:tsucks

dual core 32 bit cpus

core 2 duo 64 bit cpus

quadcores are 64 bit cpus

there are no 128 bit cpus in market-- how are they gonna run 128 bit windows 7 ?

192 GB of RAM ? ?????????????????????????????????????? :confused

1025 GB of RAM ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Congratulations, you've just discovered sarcasm.

And up to 256GB of RAM are pretty usual for a decent database server in larger companies.
