it also depends on your monitor... I used to have 112 fov on a 4:3 monitor, when I switched to widescreen the equivalent fov would have been higher than 120, so now I have a 'lower' fov than the one I used to have.

set fieldofview_up "vstr field_1"
set fieldofview_down "vstr field_1"

set field_1 "seta cg_fov 120;seta cg_crosshairSize 54; set fieldofview_up vstr field_2"
set field_2 "seta cg_fov 110;seta cg_crosshairSize 51; set fieldofview_up vstr field_3; set fieldofview_down vstr field_1"
set field_3 "seta cg_fov 102;seta cg_crosshairSize 48; set fieldofview_up vstr field_4; set fieldofview_down vstr field_2"
set field_4 "seta cg_fov 97; seta cg_crosshairSize 45;set fieldofview_up vstr field_5; set fieldofview_down vstr field_3"
set field_5 "seta cg_fov 90; seta cg_crosshairSize 42;set fieldofview_down vstr field_4"

bind MWHEELUP vstr fieldofview_up
bind MWHEELDOWN vstr fieldofview_down

just scroll up for far distance (makes also your crosshairs smaller)

afaik 180 turn is not allowed, since cl yawspeed is limited by pb. Anyways it sucks, dont do it. Better set your mousesens to a value, so you can handle a 180 turn manually.

played yesterday 90 fov

you just need to get used by it but i think its better :)

reduced my sens from 1.00 to 0.75

i used to play high sens at jaymod, could easily do a 180 degree but now ive slowed it a bit more down

anyway thx for replies, all my questions are answered (for now :P)

cool script, but how do you switch  fast when needed, e.g. during a fight? honestly I prefer to just hold one key.

ok then, even though I don't understand why you've lowered your sens after a fov change, since what counts is how many degrees you move, not how many pixels. In many jaymod servers players move faster, so you might need a lower sens on etpro but I still don't think it is fov -related.

But again I am all nerdy cfgs and no aim, reflexes is what counts eventually, that's why I am low+ max :)

na dont like that style :P

when youre used to one fov you have better aim :P

cuz when i play 90 fov i rly need to find new sens cuz my normal sens (1.00 at 110 fov) is not good for 90 fov as well :(

when youve played so long with fov 110 and you go 90 its like you use a binocular lol, rly much diffrence :o

I suppose that's why players like RaZiel (form Norway) and Wiesiek have such terrible aim then, the fact they use switch between high and low FOV must really make them terrible. =)

It's all a matter of taste/what works for you.

Yeah, Wiesiek probably forgot to use his fov toggle when he played at cic7 lan, 25% accuracy and less than 1hs per kill   :D

jokes aside, I think a fov toggle is useful, and in fact I have one in my cfg, but for eye-hand coordination playing with the same fov is probably the best.

how the hell he gets radar map so light? :oo

ive now:

/r_gamma 3

/r_mapoverbrightbits 3

/r_overbrightbits 1

and he uses also that /r_drawfoliage 0 so the grass is lowered right?

could be post processing, but maybe it's r_ignorehwgamma 1 ? (this setting doesn't work on linux btw)

I had also r_intensity 1.5

Another question again! :)

is there any way possible to change to color of the border of your crosshair (not the entire crosshair)

cuz i have a black border around it, was wondering if you can change to color

i found something on internet, thought they might have something to do with it

seta b_tjl_draw "1"

seta b_tjl_stoponnomove "1"

seta b_tjl_color "green"

seta b_tjl_showmaxspeed "0"

seta b_tjl_stepsize "0.5"

could not find explain about these but anyone know what they do?

thx in advance

Oly

those are trickjump cvars.. they have nothing to do with your crosshairs

cg_crosshaircoloralt is probably the cvar you're looking for
