This is the folder location where the key goes in a normal installation mind the drive letter if yours is different.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain

If your still unable to get a valid guid use these in console~ the key beside the 1 button on the keyboad above tab.

/pb_cl_enable

/pb_system 1

/pb_writecfg

to check your guid

/cl_guid

just encase I wasn't helpful enough

keep in mind Punkbuster is no longer used you can turn it off after your done.

but the first post was assuming the file wasn't readable while the game was running

have a good day.

etmalen folder

Did you mean the "etmain" folder inside your Wolfenstein Enemy Territory folder?

"etmalen" translates from the Dutch as "days" and "malen" as "grind".  (Google Translate)

If you have have created an "etmalen folder" and put an etkey file into it, then ET won't find it and will not make a cl_Guid for you.

MattaMattaNLD sent me a PM in reply to my question, saying "it did autocorrect me, i have it in the etmain folder,  "

I advised him to reply here to DareDevil's question about what Operating System he is using.
