Okay, as of ~4th October, EvenBalance (EB) and Activision no longer have a contract for PunkBuster support on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and thus they have dropped support for it. You will no longer be issued ETKeys by EB, and thus you will no longer be able to get new GUIDs. However, I have created an ETKey Generator for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, hosted here at Fearless Assassins. Okay so step by step I'll explain how to get your new ETKey, and how to use it. First, go to the ETkey Generator for Enemy Territory, solve the CAPTCHA image, and click Generate Etkey! You will be prompted to Open or Save the etkey file. Save the file. Once it has downloaded (this should only take a second or two as it's a very small file), copy the etkey file to the relevant folder: WinXP: C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\ Vista/Win7 64bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\ Vista/Win7 32bit: C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\ Mac OS X: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Wolfenstein ET/etmain/ Linux (*): /home/username/.etwolf/etmain/ *Based on Ubuntu setup. Note: On some installations of Windows 7, you may also need to copy your new ETKey file to: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\ET\etmain\ You should now be good to go - start up wolfenstein and you should have a new GUID. You can check by typing /cl_guid into your console and seeing if it displays any letters/numbers. Not working? If /cl_guid reveals that you have an *Unknown* guid, join a server then type the following: /pb_cl_enable; pb_system 1; pb_writecfg; reconnect; This should solve all issues. Pro tip: to save this problem in the future, read my tutorial on Backing Up & Restoring your ETKey! -
hi i have been playing the beginners server on et and ammassed an xp of about 45000 now the serber wont load anymore because it says my guid /et key is currupt i can still get on other servers but this is the one where i had all my xp any help for a noob appreciated

hello, I noticed that since I have a new pc/install, I need to manually enable punkbuster every time I turn on my game, so I was thinking of adding the commands (pb_cl_enable, pb_system 1, pb_writecfg) to my cfg, so it would just enable itself everytime, but when !finger'd myself I noticed at the end of my PB GUID there was a line that said: This player has no stored GUID. This got me wondering if there is maybe something else wrong. Anyone has a clue?

I cant join jay1 or jay2 .. error message complains something about GUID. I can join silent and fun servers, but not jay.. Where's the problem? i got a etkey copied to my etmain folder, and updated my PB and re-installed my et also.. but nothing works.

Hi guys, On my pc i have a partition with ubuntu and anotherone with Windows xp, under both OS i have installed enemy territory. My question is: is the guid of et the same under both OS? Thx for info

Hi guys! So i have tried to join you guys but the problem is that you want my GUID, and i cant get it. When i open ET i press ~ but nothing happens. I have tried other variations too.. :/ So is there anyway a admin or someone who could check my GUID today in game? Or is there any other way i could get it? Thank you for your help!

Out of nowhere today I was kicked from the Recruiting server (haven't had a problem in quite awhile), and when I tried to reconnect it said "Invalid GUID..." something or other.... I ended up uninstalling both ET and PB, downloading a new ETkey from ETkey.org, and trying to reinstall, but it still gives me this error about an invalid GUID. In fact, the most recent attempt at installing ET failed completely; it wouldn't even start up! What do I need to do in order to get back on F|A servers in ET? Or any servers for that matter... I know its an outdated game, but I like it, and I assume most of you do as well Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all, Yesterday, for some reason, I wasn´t able to join any FA servers, except for one, FA hardcore. The error I get is that I have an invalid guid?!?! What could´ve happened? Anyone have any ideas? What can be done to fix it? I had my levels reset due to another issue, about a month ago. everything was fine :-(

If you're having problems with your XP or 'invalid GUID' etc, check your etmain folder (usually C:/Program Files (x86)/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/) for a file named etkey. Many new members on forum dont know how or where to find guid in cod4 game . Anwser is very simple : Open console in game using tidle - ~ or Apple Mac keyboard : Type !me You will see your full 32 digits Guid Write down last 8 digits and add it to your profile : Go to Your profile , in the upper right corner click on edit my profile : Go lower on that page and u will see Guid area , type there your guid ( like on pic ) . click Save and Voilà From now on , you guid will be visible in your profile. When you're at the main menu, go to options Go to advanced Then enable the console oin a game by clicking Browse Servers, doesn't matter what server, zero players or many. Once IN GAME with a class selected, hit the ` key Type Status into the console and your GUID will appear with other info on you.
