  1. And here I am again, talking about a game that's in my heart. First of all, as I said previously, don't stick to my review alone, especially for this one, it's kinda an odd type of game ! Second... Well, I'm not known for being short in my reviews. So be prepared ! And Finally, hope you'll enjoy the read and if you're not, get to the end to see the sum up !! Let's get started ! I'll start with a little introduction to what is Absolver : Absolver, it's a mix as if Dark Souls and a Versus Fighter had a baby. Not clear enough ? Imagine being able to roam a small world, where you meet ennemies, or they meet you...But mostly with their feet both in your face. Clearer ? There's some boss fight, there's fighting all around, learning curve, gear, stats, but...there is also composition of what makes YOU special. Or more exactly : How you fight is special. Aaaaand there's player versus player : If you play online, you can encounter ennemies AND players attacking them...or yourself. You start by creating a character, defining he or she, defining how he or she looks, then... You choose a school. No this is not Harry Potter type of school... Windfall, wich avoid and slow down incoming attack. Forsaken, wich block and stun the opponent. Kahlt Method, wich absorb an incoming attack to regenerate. There are two more school wich unlock in game. Now I'll begin with negatives aspect of the game, compare to a Soulslike, and a Versus Figher. Those are purely subjectives ! First of all, if you intend to play Absolver in solo, FOR the solo (I specify). No, the world is small, quite beautyfull, but small. It does not have the proportion of a Dark Souls or even worse, of an Elden Ring. Boss are not that complicated, story is not that trenscendant, but is present wich is already not that bad and kinda mysterious. An other point on the map, this time the one to orientate yourself. Forget about it. You won't. (the said map) An other dark spot on the picture : In Absolver, you make your "deck" of fighting skills, with what you learn. Attacks you can learn by....fighting others, be it players or npcs. BUT. There is in total, more than a hundred attacks. Not so bad you'll say, uh ? We learn fast...Right ? Let's add some challenge then ! Today, I have...86 Attacks learned, 34 currently learning. Yup...Learning. Because to learn an attack, you'll need to either pary it, dodge it, or use the specifity of your school on it at the right timing. And it's a long run since you go randomly against randoms deck. PvP simplify the equation since you do not have to imperativly win, to learn, by opposite with the Npcs. But getting your ass kicked by Rocky, Bruce Lee, or...I need a lady...Let's say Caitlinn Jenner ! On top of being really unsettling for the last one, I think we all agree to say, it's not really pleasant. NOW, for the positive side. The deck. Yup him again. As I said, a lot of attacks to learn, but that means also a lot of customization and variety of playstyle. Let me explain : The whole combat system wants itself to be fully customizable. To begin with : an Attack begins in a position, and end in another. To proceed : the combo that will compose your deck, will have a begining position, and ending position. Combo being composed of three attacks. There is 4 guard position, so...4 combo possible. I'll speak as a controller player (Way easier for this type of game in my taste) : Your combo will be on the X. And the rotation of position will be either on the Y, wich will be a specific attack outside of your combos (so 4 more in your deck !), Or by manually rotating your guard by pressing a trigger, and moving the joystick in the wanted position. But if your attacks make you change position, the combos will cycle by itself ! Same if your opponent turns around you, your guard will move by itself ! In other words : Really hard to get yourself spammed with the same attack over and over again, and on top of that, the fight is more beautifull than ever ! (even if you get your ass served) The customization goes also throught your armor : up to you to choose if you want speed, damages, and wich defense to prioritize : Blunt or Slicing damages. And finally, customization goes by your stats wich you gain by leveling up (Up to level 50 or 60...can't recall exactly) With the last update of the game comes a store where you can exchange crystals (gained in game only) to either buy new fancy gear, or dye it ! A screen shot to get an idea of what I'm speaking of : On the left, the combos and the various attacks that compose them. On the center below, the guard position, On the right, the extra attacks to switch position. Now the most important part : the Player versus Player one ! The Open PvP can be brutal : you meet a player, and more exactly his feet in your face after an acrobatic leap. What do you understand ? If you thought he wanted to mate. You lost. BUT you'll be able to meet other players to go against one of the boss, or other players. Being more of the family of : Loyal, Good, and the last of the family : DUMB... I never tried any of those. Arena PvP on it side, is divided in 1V1 with a duel, and 3V3 with a point capture mode. Positive Side : -Various Deck, you can make YOUR style easily. -Customization of stats and gear possible. -Pretty (in my opinion at least...) -Interesting PvP in arena, and probably more interesting in group. Negative Side : -The acquisition of attacks wich can be long, and painfull to feel pass. -The solo, too short and too simplist. -The map, in both meaning, the one to locate ourselves, wich does not, and the world wich is small. Conclusion : I ain't no PvP player for start, but this game makes me like it. Because, you make YOUR character with patience, and you'll learn to enjoy getting yourself kicked, and kicking people in return. I'll say it again, if you intend to play this game for its SOLO part, and only for that, forget about it. The map too small, and if you're not a PvP enjoyer, you'll finish it in 4 hours top (I finished the main story in 6 because I kept getting lost). If you're curious, and that PvP might interest you...wait for a promotion because there's a chance that like me, you'll enjoy it. And if you like versus fighters, that Absolver caught your eye, and that you have patience (that's an important part believe me), take your time to seek other opinion, and once weighted the pros and cons, I for one, recommend it heavily. You'll probably enjoy it and that's the essential. You can find it here on steam for 30€ or in promotion on keys website. https://store.steampowered.com/app/473690/?snr=1_5_9__205 8 out of 10 in my book. For those who knows, it's a game made by the same studio that made SIFU : Sloclap.
  2. Rocket League Type of game- Sports/ Car Soccer Cost- $19.99 USD Available platforms- PC, XBOX 360, PS4 This game encourages teamwork play, which when done correctly can lead to some of the best satisfaction and rewarding feelings. The concept is simple: Car + Boost + soccer ball/hockey puck/ basket ball + Teams= Hilarity and solid competition. If you like sports this game takes you out of the monotony and throws a twist into it. Many cars to choose from for you to get your style, tons and tons of customization options from wheels to paint skins/decals, to hats and more. You can get ultra rare items that everyone is yearning for and trade them, the community for the game is growing rapidly. Loot crates if you're into that stuff, so I recommend you be careful not to dig yourself a hole. The trade scene is awesome in the game/community and crates can be traded for items, just gotta find the right person that has what you're lookin for. Some Pros' -Good community -Challenging and Rewarding -Teamwork based (HEAVILY) -Updated regularly-ish, game is still growing! lots of things can happen! -Dev's listen to community feedback -Growing community Note- This game is a full game, but is still having game modes and such added to it over an extended timeline. I have played 254hrs of this game. One of my favorites so far, tons of fun with friends. Has the option for private party games of up to 4players per team. Different settings for powerups/ vanilla or even super bouncy ball. It's a different game from the typical shooter side of things, it's growin fast, and has a more lighthearted feel.... when you're not getting super competitive.

  7. Imagine… A green, flat world… Giant trees rising up around you… Fireflies twinkle, perched on the trees, lighting up the place, mostly plunged in semi-darkness. Other strange, hostile-looking creatures approach, shaking their limbs brutally in the hope of scaring you ... Twilight Forest is a new dimension, adventure-driven exploration mod that takes you on a journey to encounter strange creatures, dungeon exploration, and much more. Access to the Twilight Forest: First of all, to access this new dimension, you will have to create a rather special portal. To do this, dig a deep hole in the ground of 1 block, and 2 × 2 cubes in length. Then arrange around this portal natural elements such as red and yellow flowers, but also mushrooms, herbs, using bone powder. To activate the portal, you will need to throw a small diamond into the water. Lightning will fall and activate the portal! Progression : The first part to progress is to create the Twilight Forest portal. Creating a base in the dimension is suggested, but not required. Magic cards and a mod with a minimap are useful for locating dungeons and biomes. Twilight Forest: The first bosses to progress are in the Twilight Forest. Here is the list of bosses to fight: Naga: You can find the naga in the Naga Courtyard structure. Upon death, you will receive Naga Scales and a Naga Trophy. Touching a scale will allow entry into the Lich Tower. Twilight Lich: You can find this boss in the Lich Tower. When you defeat her, you will obtain a specter which will allow you to access the swamps and access the dungeons there. Swamp : The next step in progressing through the mod is to gain access to the swamps. You must have defeated and obtained the specter of the Twilight Lich or you will receive a starvation penalty if you enter the swamp biome without having followed this step. Here are the bosses to fight in the swamp: Minoshroom: You can find this boss in the labyrinth. You will need to defeat him in order to obtain meef stroganoff which, when consumed, grants access to the Fire Swamp biome. Hydra: This boss can be found in the Fire Swamp biome in the Hydra lair structure. Once killed, it grants Fiery Blood and grants you access to the Dark Forest biome. Dark Forest: This is the third step in the progression of the Twilight Forest mod. In addition to its already extreme darkness, players will be inflicted with Blindness if they have not defeated the Hydra first. This can be circumvented if the player is wearing an enchanted helmet with Night Vision. Here are the bosses to fight in this biome: Knight Phantom: You can find it in the Goblin Knight Stronghold structure which is located under the Dark Forest. To access this fortress, you will need to find a pedestal and place a trophy there. Once the trophy is placed, the protection of the fortress will dissipate and you can enter it to defeat the boss. Once killed you will have access to the Dark Tower. Ur-Ghast: The Ur-ghast can be found in the Dark Tower in the middle of the Black Forest. It will be at the top of the tower, along with many other monsters, such as Carminite Ghastlings, Towerwood Borers, and Carmine Golems. Killing him will allow you to continue your adventure to the snowy biomes. You have to get his Tears of Fire to progress. Snowy Forest & Glacier: In this fourth step, you will have to explore the snowy biomes of the mod. If you haven't done the previous steps, a penalty will freeze you and greatly slow your movement. Here are the bosses to fight: Alpha Yeti: The Alpha Yeti can be found in the Yeti's lair, in the center of the Snow Forest biomes. Killing him will unlock access to the Glacier Biome. Snow Queen: The Snow Queen can be found in the Aurora Palace, located in the Glacier Biome. Once you've killed her, you can move on to the final stages of progression. The final stages: There are three final steps to complete before you can complete the mod at 100%. Here are the final steps: Troll: The Cave Troll and the Giant Miner can be found in the Troll Cave and Cloud Cottage. To complete this step, the player must obtain the item: Lamp of Cinders. Once the lamp has been acquired, the player can proceed to the next step. Thorns: The Thornlands stage The penultimate stage of the Twilight Forest mod. It is completed by obtaining either a Thorns Block or a Green Thorns Block. This allows the player to move on to the final stage of progression. Final Castle: This is the final step. However, no bosses have yet been implemented in this structure and you will have explored all of the content the mod currently offers. 8. Hello and welcome to digging out inactive topics. What better time to engage yourself in game-oriented activity than during a coronavirus lockdown? With that in mind, I bring to you all, the review of Total War: Three Kingdoms. ( I dedicate this one to Smultron, because I know how much he's going to cringe when he looks at another China-related post from me.) Name of the Game: Total War: Three Kingdoms. Type of game: (FPS, Action, Adventure, MMO, MMORPG, etc.) A one-of-a-kind mix of real time strategy and turn-based strategy. Cost: (Average) So on Steam it says 59.99 USD, but I got my copy in a limited edition for 25$. Available Platforms (i.e. Xbox, PS, PC etc.) PC Ease of Installation (Was it easy? Straightforward? Do they offer it in native language?) Beautiful box, came with 4 discs only to get me so disappointed and add the game to Steam so I can download it from there. But hey, the box is so cool ^^. Short summary of the game: (Basically could pull off the game site.) A summary of a Total War game... oh boy. So all Total War games in the franchise share a unique system of mixing real-time tactical control of the battle with turn-based managing your country, empire, whatever the setting is. There are mostly historical titles, but the newer ones tend to be more "open-minded", with Warhammer Fantasy making its 3rd installement in the works. And for the Three Kingdoms itself - taken from the site "Set in the Three Kingdoms period (220–280), players control one of the game's twelve factions, who must eliminate other factions, unify China and become its ultimate ruler." If anyone here is a fan of strategy games, then one must play any Total War game, and Three Kingdoms is the best in my humble opinion. It is also a game, where my favourite book, and now game character appears. His name is of course Xiahou Dun Pros: Tactical gameplay which Total War franchise is all about, Sucks you up like a vacuum for hours, Graphics are a thing of art, really beautiful landscapes, etc You can learn history while playing it, A setting that is debated to be even true makes it interesting and mysterious Interesting stories to be read and learnt throughout gameplay, Thrilling multiplayer co-op or head-to-head games, If you read the book, you will find yourself right at home You can link the game to your PC time clock to replicate the time of day directly in-game. For example, playing the game at 2:00 AM will result in the game being played at night, Absolutely amazing audio, especially the soundtrack. Cons: It can be difficult to start playing it at first Odd crashes here and there Sucks you up like a vacuum for hours Might not appeal to people who's after 100% historical accuracy If you're used to playing only shooters, the slow pace of managing your empire will NOT appeal to you probably either Out of 10 points what would you give it? For me, a dumb history and strategy freak, the Total War franchise is simply the best. It's relaxing, while also exercising my brain and planning ability, which doesnt sound like a relaxing thing to do, but it surprisingly is. And since im half-chinese, I can't help but be proud, but somewhat feeling weird, that the Eastern company stayed more true to my history than any native Chinese game ever before. I will give it a strong 8, bordering 9. I am adding a few pictures game related, first of which is my in-game screenshot with the HUD turned off, showcasing the beautiful landscape. Thanks for reading, excuse my poor English and enjoy ^^

  11. Name of the game: NieR:Automata Platform: Steam (PC) / PS4 Average price: 60 euros ARPG Copy of the test I published on Steam: Test en Français 1ère partie / Test in English 2nd part: ____________________ NieR Automata est une véritable oeuvre d'art au charme incroyable! ____________________ NieR Automata is a true work of art with incredible charm! Even if technically in terms of graphics we are facing a game not really well optimized nor with textures licked on some part of the environment, despite that, the experience is full of twists and intelligence. Featuring a captivating storyline, rich and dynamic gameplay worthy of the PlatinumGames studio. Original on many aspects, surprising on many others, fascinating to live and listen, NieR: Automata possesses all the assets of a memorable game recalling in a completely different field and different kind Shenmue. And really... our android friends: 2B and A2 (such bodies! yeah, yeah... i know what you gonna say... )As well as 9S, you are not likely to forget them that soon. 19/20 without hesitation for this game (minus one for some textures and the lack of optimization on PC).

  13. 2018 has been interesting so far, so I thought we could play a little game where we share some experiences and get to know each other in the process. If you haven't heard of it yet, "Two truths and a lie" is pretty self-explanatory. You tell two truths (could be two things about you, or things that have happened) and ofc, one lie. People take turns guessing what the lie is- hopefully this will be fun. Alright, so I'll get started: I lost my paycheck after getting drunk at a casino I got pissed off at a slow computer and tossed it out a window I woke up to a SWAT team in my yard Take a guess of which of these experiences is a lie!
  14. I always loved to play Tap Tap Revenge 4 on my old iPod but unfortunately I had to switch to android eventually and the game was iOS only. However with the launch of Tap Tap Reborn in 2016 and Tap Tap Reborn 2 in 2017 new life was given to the franchise, now for android AND iOS. The premise of the game is really simple, you have 3 lines on which noted will appear and all you need to do is press the buttons on the moment there is a note there. Sounds easy right? I downloaded it like a month ago and its now one of my main activities in the train, despite the weird looks I get because my face gets pretty "focussed" so to speak. Just this morning I reached top 20 on one the songs they offer so Im getting even more hyped about the game Anyone else here who is tapping? Or maybe someone who used to play the iOS only version and gave up looking for an Android version? First video is a relatively easy song played on hard difficulty, second video.... well I guess it speaks for itself how hard that one is
  15. Hey guys, Recently after getting this new PC I've started playing some PUBG, definitely a fun game. If you don't know what it is... It's basically a 100 man king-of-the-hill and the last person/team wins (depends on if you're playing solo, duo or squads). You start on a plane and parachute down to any place on the island, trying to pick up as many weapons and other consumables that will help you throughout the battle. The island is huge, so a circle that gets smaller every few minutes forces players into smaller areas, making it easier to find out people. The main goal is to survive by playing tactically using stealth, speed, and communication (if you're playing with a team). In general, the game is REALLY fun, I do recommend anyone who can play it to try it out. Playing with squads makes the game harder, but a lot more fun. It does take a while to get used to the controls and how the system works, but once you play a couple of games it gets much better. The only problem right now are the optimization issues (the game is in early access), and the occasional network lag. I would love to start a squad with some of the members in this community! It can help us get to know how we play, how we communicate, and just help us to get to know each other more.

  18. Day Of Infamy Type of game- Action/Shooter/Hardcore Cost- $19.99 USD Available platforms- PC "The creators of Insurgency present the next installment of their successful FPS platform with Day of Infamy. Featuring tactical close-quarters WWII engagements across a wide range of multiplayer and coop scenarios, Day of Infamy is a highly intense teamwork-rewarding experience. This game encourages teamwork play, which when done correctly can easily turn the tide of the battle and feel rewarding. It does resemble its predecessor but has improved 10 fold with game elements and content. Aside from Insurgency it reminds me of ET a bit. DOI encourages you to think on your feet and use your role correctly. A good officer is nothing without his radiomen, and vice versa. There are 9 different roles/classes at the moment and new armies are being added in as we speak for different fronts. Currently the 3 factions in game are the US, Commonwealth, and Germany. This game is more unforgiving then insurgency and a hell of a good time if you like a challenge. Some Pros' -Good community -Accurate battles depicting historic campaigns -Iron sights for days =D -Teamwork based -Updated regularly -Dev's listen to community feedback -A wide variety of maps -Growing community Note- This game is not complete yet so there are things that can be subject to change. Though the release should be coming at the end of the quarter. I have played since early access first came to steam. From my experience in the game I give it a 9/10. If you like WW2 games, hardcore shooters, and team oriented combat. Then I definitely recommend this game to you. If anyone has any questions about the game feel free to ask me. 19. So I'm so glad that they finally made a second Mirror's Edge as it is one of my favourite games. It's not a sequel to the old game, but a reboot. I made a video of a side mission called Drone Work, and I wanted to share with you guys how the game looks so far. Unfortunately the quality isn't the greatest because it was an clip uploaded through the ps4, not with an actual recorder. Quality only goes to 720p, sorry about that. Hope you guys enjoy it, and I highly suggest you guys try the game! Name of the Game: Mirror's Edge Catalyst It's a first person shooter parkour/freerunning game Cost: Probably like 70-80 dollars. Available Platforms: PC, PS4, XBOX One Mirror's Edge Catalyst is an upcoming open-world action-adventure platform video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is a reboot of 2008's Mirror's Edge and will revolve around Faith's origin and her attempt to overthrow a totalitarian conglomerate of corporations who rule the city of Glass. Pros: Amazing graphics, realistic parkour moves, great gameplay Cons: Controls are a bit awkward at first, some bugs (just the beta) Since it is my favourite game, or a reboot of it, I rate it at least a 9 out of 10

  22. Camel 101 have announced Syndrome, a brand new horror game that they are making that they hope will channel classic survival horror games that have all but died out in the market in recent years. Syndrome has a typical premise – waking up on a spaceship and discovering that things have gone horribly wrong – but it is promising a return to the kind of psychological horror that used to define the genre in the first place. In Syndrome, you can’t (and shouldn’t) always take your enemy head on in combat- a lot of the times, running and hiding effectively are the best course of action available to you. In Syndrome, everything is scarce, so make sure you make what you get really count- conserve your resources, and save them for a rainy day. Syndrome will be out in the second quarter of 2016 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. Source http://gamingbolt.com/
  23. The voice actress behind one of The New Order's key characters has strongly suggested a new game in the first-person shooter series in development. Alicja Bachleda-Curuś played Anya Oliwa in Machine Games' The New Order, and in an interview with Polish TV said she was working on a "second one". Our friends at Eurogamer Poland translated the relevant quotes, and here's what she told Polish TV station TVN: "I'm working on a video game, first part of which I have already made. Now we're making a second one, which will take two more years. "I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler." It sounds pretty clear cut, but it's worth noting publisher Bethesda has yet to confirm a New Order sequel. We've asked for comment. A new Wolfenstein perhaps wouldn't come as much of a surprise, given The New Order was generally well received and sold well. Back in May 2014, The New Order creative director Jens Mathies told a Reddit AMA said Machine Games had plenty of ideas for a sequel and would love to do one. Source http://www.eurogamer.net/
  24. Hey there, I want to give you an insight to Tripwire Interactive's Killing Floor 2. Let's start the show! Genre: Killing Floor 2 is an FPS in a horror environment. You and your team try to survive waves of Zombies (aka "Zeds"). There are no P2W models, the developers even stated they will not tolerate people selling custom mods or maps, all is free and to be enjoyed limitlessly :-) State of release: Open beta / early access. This is a broad description, but the game has very few bugs left to patch. What's still missing are more characters, more weapons and even more maps to play. A huge content buff will happen when the final release hits, because the developers let you build & share your own custom maps. In Killing Floor 1, those custom maps had godlike fun to offer. Progression & Characters: Where there is team, there is division of tasks. The different available characters are named Perks, and at the moment there are five to chose from. This list is just a beginning, many Perks will be added and the developers also 'carry over' Perks from other games. Example is the Pyro, know of Team Fortress 2, which was voted into Killing Floor by it's community. The berzerker (aka "zerk" or "zerker") - The close-quarter combat specialist. Takes less damage, while it out face-to-face with the Zeds! Starts with a combat-shovel, wants to get his Pulverizer or Eviscerator. The commando - If assault weapons are your thing - this is your Perk. Better at spotting cloaked enemies, too! Your man for AK-47's and SCAR-H. The medic - Run fast, heal your friends, use cutting edge weapons (that's a pun) - and kill Zeds as well! His heals are unmatched with the AoE medic grenade, but dishes out damage just fine. The support - Shotguns for the mayhem, the ability to carry more - and great with a welder too! Resources: By helping the team, shooting Zombies or completing waves, you get XP and cash. XP levels up your Perk and persists when you leave / join servers. Cash is only for the current match, where you can buy equipment and ammo for your rounds. The shop is up long enough between waves, has a nice waypoint to guide you to it. If you happen to find weapons u dont need, u can either drop them for the team or sell them for cash. Perk levelling system: Getting XP is to get levels, and at levels 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 you get to choose between 2 new upgrades. Each Perk has 5 passive bonusses up when at max. level of 25, some benefit teamplay more than others. Deaths have no impact on your XP but will remove some cash. The UI: 1) Distance to trader 2) Wave-counter and counter of Zombies to slay before wave is over 3) XP-bar, Perk info, info about self-heal (syringe), Armor and Health, 4) Ammo in Magazine, Ammo left outside of magazine, toggle of firemode, 'nade count and state of battery for flashlight 5) your Cash account 6) info about music playing 7) not enabled in this screenshot, but u can have crosshair Weapons: Are characterized by damage, rate of fire, spread, weight etc. Your character can only carry limited weight. There are hitzones that increase or reduce damage (so, headshots pay off). Difficulties: There is normal, hard, suicidal and hell on earth to choose from, as well as map length (short = 5 waves, medium = 7 waves, long = 10 waves). The zombies don't just get more HP and damage with higher difficulties, they also feature new attacks, faster movement and ofcourse a bigger number to slay. The maps also feature less medpacks / supplies and cash rewards in higher difficulties, but reward you with higher XP gains. Gameplay: There's a lobby with chat or ingame voice to coordinate your team, where you select your Perk and upgrades. Once all is set, you directly start with wave 1 that you have to beat with your starter equipment, which usually is pretty easy. If you happen to beat all the waves of your difficulty, there's an additional BOSS-wave. It spawns the Boss (aka "Hans Völter") and some minor Zombies alongside. Beating the boss with at least 1 teammember alive give another chunk of XP to all. If by defeat or by win, the map will be over and you put back into lobby. There is a special bullet-time trigger, where everything is slowed and the screen turns greyscale. You can look around normally, but shots and zombies are super slowed. Any zombie you kill can trigger zed-time, based on game-dice rolls in the background. Feels like matrix. The commando Perk has the upgrade to make zed-time last longer. Beginner tips: You are not restricted to use the weaponry for your Perk, basically, a medic could use the heavy melee weapon of the zerker to gain zerker-XP while having the bonusses from medic Perk. Therefor, it's popular that all team members carry a medic pistol to heal each other. Headshots pay off twice! You save ammo and the zombie is dead faster. Don't buy upgrades you don't need first, like armor for the first waves. Save for the important items. If you have all the parts you need, share your money by pressing B (default). Don't solo, splitting from your team is a bad move. Get that Shotgun for boss waves. If you can't kill it, just hit it. You will get the XP and cash when it dies. Constantly look around /up and down/, especially in Zed-time. And well, communicate :-) General note: Yes, this is early access. Progress will be wiped by the developers before release, so at the moment I just play it casually. You can add me on steam if you like (10taclezor).
  25. Name: Torchlight II Type: RPG Cost: Honestly don't know. VIggy bought it for me. Never have played Torchlight, the original, I was weary that I would not enjoy this game. It sounded lame, devoid of promise and action, lackluster in the realm of adventure and fps, etc. I'm sure I could come up with more reasons and excuses not to play. Yet played I did. And with not internet this game soon became my friend. I'd play for hours delving into changing my pet into other creatures, enchanting my weapons and in general being a badass killing stuff. And as the hours progressed the more I enjoyed the game and picked up on the little nuances that were slighted. For example there was a reference in one part of the map to Silence of the Lambs, in which you place a bottle in a bucket and lower into a pit. Rewards?! By all means, gold rained from the skies. Who knew that being a pyscho killer for a second could reap such rewards. The game is pretty basic. It harnesses the general controls of a,w,s,d, ctrl, space. You start your game on a quest to find the Alchemist and regain control of the spirit gods (in a sense) with challenges and fights more epic along the way. As with all games you level up, eventually reaching the maximum level of 100. Which is unfortunate, because you just want to keep playing and playing, leveling up and becoming more powerful. Along the way you encounter bosses and mega-bosses, reaping rewards by the plenty. But what do you do with so many goodies? How do you decide what to use and what to sell? Well that's the beauty of the game. You have to be strategic; you have to learn what works best for you. Did I mention you get to choose between four characters all with their own specialty. You have the Embermage, whose strength lies in spells and use of wands and staffs. The Engineer, whose expertise of swords and large manual weapons can kill foes easily. The Berserker, who is just downright crazy calling upon the spirit of the wolf to bring down his enemies. Lastly, but not least, there is the Outlander who finds solace in bringing down foes with projectile weapons (guns, bows, you know). With these charcaters you develop skill trees, spells, and specials. Certain armor and weapons can only be used by your class, and in general get better and better as you go along. There are many types of weapons, from the basic to rare. Many weapons have the ability to insert gems or socketables, which give it special features, like calling dead foes forth to fight for you or rain acid and fire. As you progress through the game you really have to decide what to do, what to wear, what powers to harness. etc. But enough yimmer-yamering. Buy the game and experience the thrill for yourself. Pros: - Maps are large to allow for exploration and often times have hidden quests and rooms that allow for more loot and experience. - The Phase Beast offers challenges that usually generate large rewards. - The option of sharing items between all characters is a plus. Or you can be greedy and keep them for yourself. - You get a pet, who often times is more powerful then you, which helps in boss fights. - Depending on your class, when you die you don't have to start over. - There is multiplayer. - When you finish you have the option of starting over and over or go to mapworks. Cons: - Maps are large, so if you die, expect to walk all the way back. And you will die, many times. - You have to read what your armor, fish and weapons do. Sometimes they can kill you. - Bosses are generally easy to beat. - There are no extra levels past 100 so you have to really think about what skills you want to max. I'd give this a 9 out of 10.
