  3. Telltale Games on Thursday released a new trailer for its upcoming episodic game based on Mojang's Minecraft franchise and confirmed another actor whose voice will appear in the game. The video (watch it above) sets up the story for Story Mode's first of five chapters, The Order of the Stone. it looks like a grand adventure. In the game, you play as a male or female hero named Jesse and travel across the Overworld on a journey to "the End, and beyond." The game features the voices of actors like Patton Oswalt, Billy West, Ashley Johnson, Paul Reubens, and Corey Feldman. Announced today, however, is John Hodgman, who plays Soren the Architect. You probably know Hodgman as the man who portrayed the PC in Apple's "Get a Mac" commercials. He's also appeared as a correspondent on The Daily Show. The Order of the Stone launches on digital channels on October 13 across PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The episode comes to iOS and Android devices on October 15, while versions of the game are also in development for Wii U and PlayStation Vita. Release dates for those versions, however, have not been announced. A disc-based version will launch for all major consoles except Wii U on October 27, featuring the first episode. The remaining four will be available to download when they are released. Finally, Telltale Games announced today that it will hold a world premiere launch event for Story Mode in Hollywood, California on October 12 at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome. The developer is hoping for this event to become the world's largest "Let's Play" gathering, as the crowd will get to direct the on-screen action. Tickets are free and you can get one by emailing minecraftpremiere@telltalegames.com. Source http://www.gamespot.com/
  4. Just found this video and i think it's pretty hilarious
  5. Minecraft server needs update.... I cant join it because I changed mine name and I cant change it back till next month.... an update would be nice
  6. I've only created worlds and never really played online so I'm in need of a little direction on the server. In order to find a place to mine/build I need to take one of the portals? How do I claim a spot or section? And how does that work? And finally, I'm admin 12 and an ET player. Should I have a level set for the server? Thanks!!!
  7. Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition will launch in Europe on October 15, developer 4J Studios announced on Twitter today. The developer followed up the tweet saying it doesn’t have a confirmed North American release date at this time but “Hopefully we'll hear soon.” The announcement comes shortly after 4J Studios revealed late last month that Minecraft for PS Vita was submitted for final testing with Sony. The latest Minecraft version includes all the features from the PlayStation 3 release, which came out last December, and online play capabilities. PS3 Edition owners will receive the Vita version for free, while newcomers can choose to purchase both versions bundled together for $19.99 with cross-save compatibility. The digital PlayStation 4 Edition launched early September after initially failing to pass certification due to "some issues" found in the final test, followed shortly after the retail disc edition on October 3 in Europe and October 7 in the US. via: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/10/09/minecraft-playstation-vita-edition-european-launch-date-confirmed?abthid=5435f65222744ad546000025
  8. I got a message that said I can't use the server because my version was too new (after I finally remembered my old password.) Is there a way to go back to an older version or change settings to join? I'd like to check it out.
  9. The rumours have been circling like slightly blocky vultures, but Microsoft has now confirmed that it has bought Minecraft makers Mojang. Mojang has been acquired $2.5 billion (around £1.5bn), and it will join Microsoft Studios' stable of world class development teams. On his official twitter account CEO Satya Nadella said of the purchase: "Thrilled to welcome the Minecraft community to the MSFT family & excited about the open-world possibilities ahead!" Microsoft has been quick to point out how the acquisition will help the powerful Minecraft community, mindful of a potential backlash from a huge audience. Friends with benefits?"Microsoft's investments in cloud and mobile technologies will enable "Minecraft" players to benefit from richer and faster worlds, more powerful development tools, and more opportunities to connect across the "Minecraft" community," said the company high up in its official statement. For those who play Minecraft on Sony's PlayStation or Apple products fear not: "Microsoft plans to continue to make "Minecraft" available across all the platforms on which it is available today: PC, iOS, Android, Xbox and PlayStation," insisted the company. Of course, a lot of people will be wondering what Mojang has to say about all of this. Over on its website, the company wrote: "Change is scary, and this is a big change for all of us. It's going to be good though. Everything is going to be OK." So why sell? Mojang gave us a bit of a clearer idea, confirming that the game's founders, including Notch, will be leaving the company to pursue other things. "As you might already know, Notch is the creator of Minecraft and the majority shareholder at Mojang. He's decided that he doesn't want the responsibility of owning a company of such global significance." Over the past few years he's made attempts to work on smaller projects, but the pressure of owning Minecraft became too much for him to handle. The only option was to sell Mojang. He'll continue to do cool stuff though. Don't worry about that." Finally, the team promises players that the game won't see any sudden drastic changes. "Minecraft will continue to evolve, just like it has since the start of development. We don't know specific plans for Minecraft's future yet, but we do know that everyone involved wants the community to grow and become even more amazing than it's ever been. Stopping players making cool stuff is not in anyone's interests." The Notch perspectiveNotch has also chipped in with a few of this thoughts on the matter. "I'm aware this goes against a lot of what I've said in public. I have no good response to that," he said, later adding: "As soon as this deal is finalized, I will leave Mojang and go back to doing Ludum Dares and small web experiments. If I ever accidentally make something that seems to gain traction, I'll probably abandon it immediately." Speaking on the Microsoft/Mojang deal, Notch concluded: "It's not about the money. It's about my sanity." via: http://www.in.techradar.com/news/gaming/Official-Microsoft-now-owns-Minecraft/articleshow/42545576.cms
  10. The API called CraftBukkit, a Minecraft plugin API used by most Minecraft servers, has been legally taken off of the internet. Former CraftBukkit coder, now GitHub member Wesley Wolfe submitted an official DMCA takedown request to have CraftBukkit be taken off of the internet. He claims that the current developers of CraftBukkit are still using some of his copyrighted code in their API for Minecraft servers. As of right now, the official download page for CraftBukkit is not available. You are prompted with this error: 451 Unavailable for Legal Reasons This content is unavailable as the direct result of a DMCA takedown request. A copy of the notification can be found at this link. You can try: Returning to the homepage ================================================================================================================= It is unknown to us how long CraftBukkit will remain unavailable, and with the promise of developer Dinnerbone for an updated version of CraftBukkit for 1.8, it makes the public nervous. Will we see a 1.8 version of the most-used API? This is the legal notice submitted by Wesley Wolfe http://dl.bukkit.org/dmca/notification.txt
  11. So, for those who follow Minecraft news pretty well, you probably already know about the changes made to the EULA of Minecraft. Mojang has made some huge changes to their EULA regarding donations/payed-for-perks, items, features, etc. The gist of it is, if what you gain from giving money to the server owner gives you a distinct advantage over other players who have not donated/bought from the owner, then it is therefore illegal. Quote from Mojang For years, servers have been selling these things that are now not allowed by Mojang. I'm not sure what all donators benefit from here, on the =F|A= server, so I can't say if the recent change even affects us. Besides, Mojang is most likely going to only keep their eyes on the bigger servers. Like Hypixel or the Overcast Network. The servers that have tens of thousands of players on their servers daily. For the above stated years, Mojang has let the sale of game-affecting items/features/perks/etc slide, as it kept servers alive. It's not cheap to host a server. However, the reason for Mojang stepping in and saying that this is no longer allowed, is servers have been selling packs of items/perks and whatnot for literally up to $10,000, and people have been buying them! Mojang decided that these owners have been taking advantage of Mojang's leniency, henceforth, they have now stepped in. In my opinion, this is not the right way to do it. Punishing the entire Minecraft community for something a select few popular servers have done is wrong. Unfortunately, the servers that choose to be honest, and comply to the new EULA have increased chances of not being able to pay the hosting costs. Leaving many Minecraft players without a home. What is your opinion? You can check out more information on the topic on the following links, so you can build a full, and hopefully unbiased opinion on the matter.. 12. If you have an idea for the server that requires the implementation of a plugin that we don't yet have, this is the place to say. Create a new thread, and paste the below text, filling it out as needed. Plugin name: Bukkit or info link: What this plugin does: Why we need this plugin: Not much info is needed, as most information can be found on the Bukkit/info link.
  13. I decided to make this to help anyone who doesn't know what a specific plugin does. In this guide, you'll learn what each plugin on the Minecraft server does. Note: You can view current plugins, by doing /pl =={Plugins}== Swear - As it implies, this plugin filters out any key-words found in the config. We use this plugin to prevent swearing. However, you can toggle the use of this plugin. To toggle this plugin, do /censor. By default, this plugin is not enabled and will not censor any words. (Bukkit link here) OneUUID - This plugin prevents any player from joining the server after they change their username at Mojang and will prompt them to change their username back to their original one. This locks out all players who have changed their username to prevent abusing multiple accounts, basically locks Mojang accounts to one username on a server. (Bukkit link here) GroupManager - This plugin handles permissions of certain groups of people. This is the plugins that lets the admins choose which commands/features you are able to use. Without this plugin, most of the plugins would be useless. (Info link here) NOTE: This plugin is not found on bukkit, however it uses craftbukkit to run.) AntiCheat - Yep, you guessed it. This plugin prevents people from using cheat clients, such as Nodus. It detects any "Impossible" behaviors, and stops them from happening. (Bukkit link here) BukkitCompact - This plugin is only used by admins. BukkitCompat is part of McMyAdmin. It's used to let McMyAdmin receive commands used in-game while running Bukkit instead of Vanilla. UUIDFetcher - This plugin has one purpose. To "Fetch" players' UUID. If you want to know what your UUID is, simply do /uuid (Bukkit link here) CoreProtect - This is another plugin that only admins can use. CoreProtect allows admins to view any and all block changes made by players. And if conceived as grief, all selected block changes can be rolled-back. (Bukkit link here) Permissions - This is another permission handling plugin. There is probably a reason that two permission plugins are used. What is that reason? You'll have to ask Joe or someone lol. GriefPrevention - When you're prompted with the text "You are not allowed to build here" or anything similar, it is the GriefPrevention plugin that is disallowing you to build there. Admins use this plugin to protect certain areas that they no longer want altered by the public. (Bukkit link here) IcePvPControl - With this plugin, you can toggle whether or not you want to be able to be struck by other players (AKA PvP) To toggle PvP, do /pvp (Bukkit link here) mcMMO - This plugin simply makes Minecraft more interesting. mcMMO adds 14 unique stats to the game that you can level up. And as you level said stats up, you begin to unlock features such as double drops. mcMMO adds is typically quite competitive between people, as there is a leaderboard /mctop (Bukkit link here) Essentials - And finally, the most common bukkit plugin known to the Minecraft community, Essentials. As implied in the title, this plugin adds very "essential" features. There are over 100 commands, and MUCH more features that come with essentials. Some of the commonly used features are /kick, /mute, /tpa, /warp, /afk, /whisper, /tell, and /mute. You won't encounter many servers that don't use Essentials. For total info on Essentials, go here. If you have any further questions on a plugin, feel free to ask here. Another admin or I will answer as soon as we can! This thread is subject to change when a plugin is added/removed.

  15. Hello Assassins, Just a heads up that the Minecraft server has been down for the past half hour (It is now 13:15:37 GMT). Hope nothing is broken. Cheers, SSG
  16. So I was trying to get on our server today, and I do fine for a bout 10 seconds, then wham, I get the busy signal on screen and the game locks up.. Doesn't happen in single player.. Any Ideas?
  17. You can see other caves, lava, and water all around you by doing the following.. you get a block of redstone, minecart, and rail, and right click on th minecart and you got it!
  18. Does the server save and restart every morning at 6am central
  19. Hey guys, Please uninstall the "backpack" plugin. It's messed up and literally everybody is getting kicked due to a "internal server error" anytime a new stack is formed in the backpack by picking up blocks after your inventory is full. This makes the server pretty much unplayable if your backpack is full. I'm getting kicked here every two minutes... Please do something about it. Cheers, SSG
  20. Hey, here's another one of those guide things xP So, with games, comes lag. No matter what, at some point, you're going to experience some type of lag.. But it's important to know what kind of lag you're having. In minecraft, like most games, there are two primary types of lag. Server-side lag, and client-side lag. The following is how to tell which you're having problems with. --Client Side Lag-- There are two types of client side lag.. FPS lag, and client latency lag. - FPS (Frames Per Second) lag, is when Minecraft starts to run jumpy. It's not smooth when you look around at all the pretty blocks. This is typically because your computer is having a little (or a lot) of trouble running the game. Contrary to most beliefs, Minecraft is a pretty PC intensive game. Because of this, people have found ways to cut down on this lag, to make your experience more enjoyable. The Optifine Mod, found here, re-codes Minecraft to run better, with less FPS lag. It also adds a whole-lot more video settings, so you can make everything perfect for your needs. Here's a video tutorial on how to install Optifine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2s5d7w89i4 - Latency lag (Client-Side) You know when you're building your house, and you place a block, and either it takes a while to hear the sound of placing? Or you hit a zombie, and it doesn't register for three seconds until you've lost half your health? That's Latency. This is do to a weak signal between your computer and the server. The way to find out you're having latency client-side, is ask fellow players on the server if they're lagging too. If they're not, then it's you that is having issues connecting. --Server Side Lag-- Server side lag is mainly just connectivity issues. It's latency lag, just caused by the server. Here are some ways to check if the server is lagging.. Ask fellow players if they're experiencing lag too. If multiple people are having latency, the server is probably lagging If available, do the command /gc and look at the "TPS" If it is anywhere in the 17s or lower, the server is lagging a bit. The colors of the TPS text will also change, telling you if it is lagging. Green means server is good, yellow means slight lag, red means awful lag If the server lags for an extended period of time, tell an admin! Or post on the forums, so they can do their duty and get the server back in tip-top shape for you. Even if they're already working on it, it's never bad to make sure!
  21. IMPORTANT!!!: If you have lost your admin level, please report it on tracker ASAP! Link below Howdy! As the title states, I have updated our Minecraft server to the latest build of Bukkit, which is for the 1.7.9 version of Minecraft! I have also taken the liberty to update any outdated plugins as well as add a few new ones: UUID Fetcher - shows you your UUID with the /uuid command AntiLagg - Added to hopefully improve some of the issues players have been having with lag on the server side. THIS WILL NOT HELP CLIENT SIDE LAG! SwearSwitch - Since Minecraft is a game for all ages, and a large number of players are young kids/teens, I have added an optional swear filter. If a player does not wish to see swearing, they can use the /censor command to filter it out. This does not mean that we can go crazy and let it all hang out, but it should make things a bit easier for those who are sensitive to such things. Backpacks - I have added the ability to use a backpack, Default users will have a 9 slot backpack, Regular Users will have 18 slots, Donators will have 27 slots, VIP donors will have more slots depending on their level of VIP subscription, Starting at 36 all the way up to 54 slots. To access your backpack, simply use the /backpack command. Down the road I might add the shopkeeprs plugin back to the server and open the Markkit and player trade shops again, but for now it is still disabled. Regarding the new UUID system: At this point in time not all of our plugins are ready for the switch to the UUID system, so until then I have added a plugin as a temporary security measure that will not allow users who have changed their username to connect to the server until they change it back to their original UN. This is simply to protect not only our server but the people who play there. So for the time being, please do not change your username until our server (or any server for that matter) has made the switch to the UUID system. As usual, the first few weeks after an update are going to be a bit weird/buggy, so if you run into any bugs or errors PLEASE REPORT THEM ON OUR MINECRAFT TRACKER!! Found here: http://fearless-assassins.com/tracker/project-19-minecraft/ I'm looking forward to what the future holds for our Minecraft server, and I am very excited! Thank you for your continued patronage and your patience and we hope you enjoy our server! Regards, GI-JOE Fearless-Assassins Leader
  22. All video settings are pretty much maxed out, except the render which is at 10. Today I started up minecraft, adjusted a few settings, and when I went back into the game I saw this odd transparent square around my crosshair. Any idea what this is?
