lately I have a very bad connection to NQ1. My ping is very stable at 48 - 50 tho. Yet I don't get the 'straight' feeling, hitting something that moves seems impossible. Even hitting something that just sits there sometimes is.. well strange.

I have run a 100 and a 500 packet MTR, attached to this post. Speedtest shows a 20mb/s download as well as a 2mb/s upload, im connected with the cable to the router.

Operating System: Win 7 64 bit SP1
CPU: i5 3470 3.2 - 3.6 Ghz
RAM: 8GB GDDR5
Motherboard: ?
Hard drive (IDE, PATA, SATA, etc): SSD
Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon 7900 3072 MB
Graphics card driver version: Newest Crimson ones (15.11)
Wifi: non, cable
Your location (country): Switzerland
Router Name (If you use any): Centro Grande I think
Which anti virus and firewall you use: using Avast!

I've attached the autoexec and the normal lagometer I have too, perhaps you can detect something in it. Please help :)

:o  where are all our highly trained tech monkeys? :D

I will donate a banana phone to the monkeys :D

yes. Another game had problems first with crimson driver, so I put on the previous one (non-beta). I resolved the issue with the other game and re-tried crimson, no difference in ET still.

How can I describe it, it feels like my movements and shots are all lightly drunk, not reliable. Any other suggestions I could try?

Did you try the Crimson hotfix?  http://fearless-assassins.com/topic/76439-amd-to-release-hotfix-for-low-fan-speeds/  I don't know how an overheating graphics card would behave.

I searched for symptoms of an overheating GPU and it seems that play would be ok for a few minutes and then as the GPU got hotter, the thermal-protection module in it would slow the card down to keep it from damaging itself.

The "RealTemp" program was mentioned as a way to monitor system temps.

Ohai Red!

Not that I'm aware of, no. I will install that fix. I monitor fan speeds / temperature and my case has additional fans. When ever a demanding game is up, the fans rotate and I can hear it ^^

ET is not that demanding, but perhaps the fix also works for my problem.

I do get 60 fps, yet no vsync on in my crimson settings. It's all in my autoexec regarding ET settings

r_swapInterval should be 0

I asked you because vsync gives mouse lag and other problems, so when I saw that screenshot I wondered if that was your problem

in the attached autoexec (which gets executed every time I start ET) r_swapinterval is 0 indeed. I will doublecheck that there is no vsync what so ever in any setting from AMD side, thx mate!

Anything special about the screenshot? I just was too lazy to crop the lagometer, when I play it's two neat lines with very few flat spikes sometimes.

Hey..just a thought..my nvidia geforce card reset itself to default settings wolf et was not under list of games to change 3d settings...vsync on multi display on best quality... I checked because was getting same symptoms you had .so had to change all those back to performance settings..

Can give this a shot, yes, I already need to install a fix (which will likely mess with my previous settings). thx for the hint mate!

Both 'waiting on vertical sync' as well as 'frame rate target control' are not active (global games and enemy territory specific)

Solved this issue.

The hotfix worked wonders, I could access a menu called display settings. Scaling was always set to 'fullsize', instead I switched it to 'keep ratios' and swoosh, all back to normal.

thx for all the suggestions <3
