Comedy Entry 113 - 137

114: Been pulled from the front for a while. Apparently keeping someone on the offensive for a couple years straight is a bad idea.
115: Nothing much to say about today. The sun did what it does, which is take blooming forever to cross the sky. Can't wait until I can Radio again.
116: Snuck into the supplies depot to have a chat with Gus.
117: Was arrested for sneaking into the supply depot, having a trial tomorrow.
118: They found me guilty of trespassing but not of theft (Since I took nothing), had a pay cut. 119: Joke Machine broke today, nothing more to say.
120: My ability to perform is in question. Apparently talking to a Radio is weird. I see people do it all the time. Sometimes it replies back!
121: Was playing some sort of card game with the lads when a Panzerfaust shot flew into the middle of the camp, a foot from me. Somehow I survived along with everyone else. Thank my lucky Panzerfaust Magnet.
122: Decided to write a book alongside the diary. Not sure if it will get anywhere. The lads certainly don't think it will.
123: Still on reserve duty. Managed to convince the higher ups to let me wear Gus about.
124: Disaster struck today, I dropped my tea. Been given time to mourn.
125: Still in mourning.
126: Recovered from the tragedy that struck. Gus provided comfort the entire way through, some people gave me weird looks.
127: Been reported to HR by an assault with a radio for being "of my rocker". They're going to have an official examination.
128: Saw the Ghost of Steven Foster, and this is what I told him as I gazed into his eyes: Shove off, I'm in the middle of a medical examination.
129: Been pulled from the fighting fully, is this where my journey ends?
130: ...
131: ...
132: ...
132: R 133: A 134: D
135: I 136: O 137: !

Entry 77 - 113 (+ Some extras missed from the last post)

77 - Got a new hobby today, dying. (Not actually death of course, otherwise I wouldn't be able to post these entries). I have a tendency to get shot. Or burned. Or blown up. Luckily Gus is fine.
78 - Sent to hospital after a panzerfaust blew up in my face. They recommend I remove my Lucky Panzerfaust Magnet for some bizarre reason. Declined the offer, wearing it while I heal.
79 - Still in hospital, most injuries don't disappear in a day. 80 - Hospital hit by a panzerfaust, no idea why. There are no Germans about and we're miles behind friendly lines. Witnesses say it flew over the hills beside us all the way to the hospital.
81 - Relocated to another ward.
82 - Released from hospital, they seem to think that bleeding profusely from my face is not bad enough to stop sending me to the front. 83 -  Walter failed me today, only had four shots instead of six. Two were blanks. Ended up with a face full of Karabiner 98.
84 - Walter restored my faith in him, took out 4 Krauts with one lot of rounds.
85 - Eddie (Edward) got hit by an explosion, he's been sent back for repairs. In the meantime I get Stanley the STEN.
86 - Haven't had Gov lead for a while, maybe he's retired. 87 - Just noticed I have a very bad case of bleeding profusely from the face, seems to have been around for 5 days, funny that...
86 -  Forgot to mention we got a new officer. He called arty on us again and was immediately shot.
88 - Fired a Panzerfaust I nicked from a German, blew up after being launched, must have hit an invisible wall placed by God. Back to the hospital.
89 - I apparently have a lithp now. Not thure why. Thouldn't bee too much of an ithue.
90 - Thtill in Hothpital.
91 -  Doctorth thtitched my fathe and now it hurtth to thpeak. They claim it thould cure the lithp.
92 - Thlept
93 - They removed the stitches, I don't think the lisp is cure, stuck with it for life. Woe is me.
94 - Eddie came back from the workshop. They've also given me Stanley for my service. Apparently going back to fight after going to hospital five odd times, and after being a POW is impressive.
95 - In remembrance of my first Radio, I shall give him a name. Rupert, may he rest in peace.
96 - Forgot to breathe at one point, a field medic had to help teach me again.
97 - Got a medal for my exemplary service after fighting as the last one from my squad in a hold out battle to slow the German advance. Eddie ran out of bullets, Stanley got dented, Walter suffered some fire damage and Gus saved me from an explosion. After they found me, they congratulated me with a slap on the back (Or well, on a broken Gus) and gave me some Scotch they smuggled in.
98 - Gus was repaired rather quick, Stanley still being "undented".
99 - Officer called a Typhoon Strike on a house some Krauts were holed up in, the Typhoon crashed into it after a Panzerfaust hit its wing. Saved my life though, it was heading right towards me.
100 - Looked back at some of the older entries that got posted. For some reason they removed Entry 23 - 30. I'll rewrite them here.

(Previous entry was me on the hunt for a radio. No need to open that entry set now)
Entry 23: I'm seeing visions of Radios, I think I might be going delusional.
Entry 24: Crossed a lake, saw a radio in it, but it was German.
Entry 25: The Radio vision led me to a German supply base, going to see what I find.
Entry 26: This is a long one, so I'll start from the top: I went to snoop around the supply base I found (Now referred to as SB) when I came into contact with an opposing radioman. I smacked him with my axe (Queen sends her regards) but left his radio (German make of course). I went to move in but was spotted by a sniper, to hide from him I went behind some gas barrels. Unfortunately, he seemed very dense so kept firing despite no line of sight. In fact his mate MG also joined in. This caused the barrels to set alight so I dived out the way into a bush. The barrels then exploded causing a chain reaction. The barrels' explosion caused a truck to explode which caused an armoured transport to explode which did not cause a tank to explode but did explode the Flak 88 next to the tank, which caused a house to explode, which must have been filled with more fuel as it then blew up a shed full of munitions which then blew up another one, who's door flew off and destroyed the guard towers while the explosion destroyed yet another shed which cause a chain reaction, causing all of the walls around the SB to collapse which cause the radios to blow up (but they were German anyway) which left me standing in a bush, in a Kilt (Just pulling your leg, I was still in uniform like a decent man) in the middle of a destroyed SB on scorched earth. Short version: complete waste of time, no Allied Radio.
Entry 27: Met a French Gentleman on the streets, he didn't have a radio.
Entry 28: Radio
Entry 29: Radio
Entry 30: R.
Entry 30.2: A.
Entry 30.4: D.
Entry 30.6: I.
Entry 30.8: 0!

(All caught up)

101 - Found some dark liquid I think is some sort of French Beer, those on the front aren't supposed to drink, but Gus really needs something to calm his nerves.
102 - Turns out the dark liquid wasn't French Beer, but an impure oil reserve. Might explain why it was in a giant tanker and not a bottle.
203 - Not much happening today.
104 - The last entry had a typo, it was supposed to be: 103 - Not much is happening todat.
105 - The last entry had a typo, it was supposed to be: 104 - The last entry had a typo, it was supposed to be: 103 - Not much is happening today.
106 - A storm broke over and I couldn't use my radio. Cause some PTSD from the dark days of Entry 19 to Entry 33.
107 - Some guy asked if there was an "end card achievement for PPK kills" I was gobsmacked! End card achievement for the PPK? No good meaning Ally would use a German handgun, disgraceful.
108 - Also concerned what he meant by "end card achievement". Is there some sort of competition going on that I didn't know? What is the prize? Do I get something to decorate Gus?
109 - Didn't win any tournament but I did find a nice shell casing that split to form a bird shape. Goes well with Gus. 110 - Had a nap at 2:30pm (GMT) today. First on in ages. Father would be proud.
111 - Apparently being able to run forever is superhuman and I shouldn't be able to do it.  These chaps are just jealous at my fitness. 112 - One of the lasses in the group managed to get 30 head shots in a row. Pretty impressive. Glad I took binoculars with me today.
113 - I do say, it's been a while since we've had peace, eh chaps?

Entry 1 - 76

Entry 1 of diary: I can't remember the first time I took up the radio, 'twas a while from now since. Officers are rather competent and I try to stick with them, like a good radio man!
Entry 2: Not much different from entry 1, got shot in the foot when I dropped my rifle though. This is why I don't trust semi-automatic weapons.
Entry 3: Got another bad officer today, kept calling Arty on our team. There was a mutiny and he was "reassigned" to other duties. I think they shot him.
Entry 4: Reassigned to a new group, by the nickname "Fearless Assassins". Considering this is a war and none of them seem to be assassinating people, I think only fearless applies to them.
Entry 5: Saw one of the lads take out a shovel and bludgeon to death 12 Germans. Gotta say, pretty impressive.
Entry 6: Got a new gov, he is inspiring and effective with the radio supports, certainly killed over 100 in the span of 10 minutes.
Entry 7: Haven't seen the officer today. Did see the wrong end of a barrel though, I think this head injury will take a while to heal.
Entry 8: Sent back into duty, was happy to find gov there. He doesn't call me by my name, but eh.
Entry 9: Radio got shot out, need to buy a new one. Turns out, they're not bullet proof, just very good at stopping small small arms.
Entry 10: Shot my foot again, need to stop picking the semi-autos.
Entry 11: Officer was recovering from an unfortunate accident including a pot, a German and an axe, so I had to run without one. Used smokes to advance but ended up alone as everyone else died.
Entry 12: Got lost from the main force, stranded in German held territory. Sent a call for help, but the Germans tracked the signal and so I took a leisurely stroll to a POW camp. Very nice lawn.
Entry 13: Escaped from the POW camp and recovered my radio, score! Still lost though. I think I'm close to the sea, but I can't tell. Patrols keep forcing me to change direction.
Entry 14: I can smell another radioman nearby, off to see if I can find him.
Entry 15: Turned out to be an assault with a radio. A real cop out. Either way, good to see another friendly face.
Entry 16: Found an American advance force, so joined up with them. Unfortunately the officer called arty on us and we suffered major losses. I feel like I've met him before.
Entry 17: Got bazooka'd by a engineer while trying to have a civilised conversation with a German officer. I survived somehow, but it went red and suddenly I was unable to move at all.
Entry 18: Some weird tournament results blocked my eyesight, I think I might be in a movie.
Entry 19: Turns out I was just under the influence of Radio Poisoning, need to get a new one as the last one leaked.
Entry 20: Looking for a new Radio.
Entry 21: Still looking
Entry 22: As previous
Entry 31: I can smell one, it's close now.
Entry 32: Met Gov again, was sad I was unable to provide a radio, still on the hunt.
Entry 33: Met the German officer who died again. Unable to provide a radio.

Entry 36: Got a new radio, all I had to do was sign my soul to the devil (In reality, I just filed a report and got a new one, but the Higher Ups make it feel like I've gone back in time to 1916)
Entry 37: Went back in time to 1916, not sure how to get back.
Entry 38: Still stuck
Entry 39: Made it back to the present, I tried to get an officer to make a call, the world broke apart and I wound out back to where I should be. The Germans who I appeared beside weren't too happy. Entry 40: Used the radio to call in an artillery strike then used the explosion to rag doll me back to friendly territory.
Entry 41: Back with Fearless Assassins, been a while, they're happy to welcome me back.
Entry 42: An officer tried to call me over to use the radio but a flamer got to him first.
Entry 43: Has a house party with some senior members in FA in the kitchen of a house we were defending. The oven did not last long enough to bake the cake as it got hit by an artillery shell.
Entry 44: Mistakes were made and now I'm in a field hospital.
Entry 45: Somehow managed to shoot myself in the knee with my knife while at hospital. The Higher Ups want a word.
Entry 46: Got an updated radio, no change in function, it is just a slightly darker shade and has some numbers stamped into it. I've called him George.
Entry 47: Sorta annoyed at how I don't have headphones with my radio, so whenever the HQ says something, all the Germans hear. Might have to make an investment.
Entry 48: Was denied headphones, reason: The other people need to hear it too and the Germans can't hear it anyway. I find that hard to believe.
Entry 49: Annoyed that I can't take a Vickers with my Radio so I've taken an Ithaca instead.
Entry 50: Switched back to rifle, more effective overall.
Entry 51: Assigned to gov again, I forgot to mention that a lot of the officers in this group is very competent due to my focus on gov, but he was my NCO once more today.
Entry 52: Rifle suddenly aged 5 years and is worn out. Still works fine though.
Entry 53: Became Scottish. Entry 54: Turns out, setting krauts on fire causes them to burn to death. An effective way to do this is with the White Phosphorous smoke grenades, so I've re-evaluated my view on them and decided they were offensive rather than defensive.
Entry 55: Turns out, chemical weapons are a war crime.
Entry 56: Turns out, I can claim WP is being used purely as smoke and that if they happen to walk into it and burn to death it is their fault.
Entry 57: ib walked into a WP smokescreen, Rest in Peace. Entry 58: Just realised no one knew ib. He was a very good bayonetter. New term I've coined.
Entry 59: In remembrance of ib, I've attached a bayonet to my rifle.
Entry 60: Still need practice with bayonet, keep accidentally cutting off the antenna of my radio.
Entry 61: My radio died. We held a small funeral.
Entry 62: Got a new radio, I'm calling him Gus.
Entry 63: Gus saved my life today, stopped a knife hitting my back, I shall have to get him a medal.
Entry 64: Apparently it is weird to name my equipment, Edward the Lee Enfield disagrees.
Entry 65: Ran out of ammo, switching to Walter the Webley.
Entry 66: Officer called in supplies. Only took 8 people constantly "Requesting Ammo" for him to get the hint.
Entry 67: The last officer was shot by a sniper, he may not have been perfect, but he was courageous.
Entry 68: Another one of the great Officers from FA led today, I should probably mention them more.
Entry 69: Saw a ghost, turned out to be my first ever radio. I miss him.
Entry 70: Lost my helmet to an explosion so I was given a hat, this will certainly protect my skull.
Entry 71: Turns out the hat is as hard as the helmet, go figure.
Entry 72: No officer today, got shot a few times, Gus made it through safely though.
Entry 73: Beach landings are getting tiresome now, we should probably actually advance.
Entry 74: Was arrested by Military Police for trying to bayonet charge the enemy on defence, at least I didn't randomly die.
Entry 75: Release and got Gus, Edward and Walter back.
Entry 76: This war is dragging on, innit chaps.

Interview with Cheep

This is an interview with =F|A='s resident chicken, CheepHeep. He's pretty boring, but I decided to post this anyway because he took like 5 minutes to answer every damn question.   1. What's your greatest fear?   I definitely have a few fears, most of which are not likely to happen. The most realistic fear I have is probably being alone. Not physically alone but for instance, I'm a pretty social person, I like to connect with people and share my story and i guess i just worry sometimes that one day I'll have nobody to tell it to or nobody I could trust to share things with. But for real though, KFC is my greatest fear     2. What's your biggest pet peeve?   Your existence.     3. What's your favorite flavor of Skittle?
ORANGE   4. Celebrity crush?   Clara Oswald     5. Favorite TV series?   oh god....theres so many, I can't pick. So many people have asked me what my favourite show, movie or song is. I enjoy almost everything which makes it hard for me to have a favourite     6. If you were the dictator of ET, what change would you make?   Hmmm I like ET the way it is, I wouldn't change it. There's always going to things to complain about but I honestly love ET and wouldn't risk changing the game because even the bits you hate make the game what it is.     7. If you had to get a tattoo on your butt, what would it be of?   Your mum. JK. I don't really like tattoos but if i had to get one, I'd get a small dot on my upper left cheek so it matches the small birth mark I have on the other.     8. Invisibility or the ability to fly?   Invisibility, I'm a chicken, I can already fly or at least suspend myself in the air for a long period of time     9.  Are you doing no-shave November?   Well I'm not shaving but I am going to trim, does that qualify?     10. I know you love basketball. Where do you stand on the LeBron vs Michael Jordan argument?   Neutral. I love playing the sport not watching other people play it. I do occasionally watch it here and there but only to learn from professionals. I don't worship celebs     11. Favorite dessert?   If we are talking about ice cream, my favourite flavour is Mint Choc-chip. So gooooood and refreshing. I love cheesecake too but nothing toO over-the-top because too much sweetness makes me feel sick.     12. What's one fictional world - from books, TV shows, movies, etc., that you would enjoy living in?   Your mum. JK. OOO Mass Effect would be cool.     13. Do you agree that Harry Potter was a huge a**h**** and probably the least exciting character in the entire series? Like, he spent seven years terrorizing his friends with his own problems, ya know? They had their own shit going on and here comes Harry f***ing Potter just f***ing shit up left and right? They had lives, too. They all had lives, Harry. IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU.   Well no because the books are called HARRY POTTER so he's the focal point. ITS NOT CALLED RONALD WEASELY AND THE ATTACK OF THE GINGERS     14. What do you do when a baby just stares at you in public? Like, doesn’t even blink, just maintains intense, aggressive eye contact with their dumb baby face.   I go cross-eyed and make stupid faces until they laugh or cry, then look away just in time so the parents dont catch me making them think that they're child is bonkers.       15. On average, how many times a week do you hurt yourself trying to dance in the shower?   0. I don't dance in the shower. Who the heck does that?

What =F|A= means to me

Hey folks. I just had a really god day and good workout. I'm feeling good so I wanted to share a little bit.   In the last 6 or so months I've been here, I've experienced a really powerful and positive change in myself. A lot of it has to do with the quality of the people here. It really feels like a family and that people genuinely care about each other here. Before F|A, I was struggling a lot in my personal life. My mom went into the hospital on christmas day and my dogs were sick and eventually had to be euthanized. I was in bad shape to say the least. I found some really surprising strength here though. That strength was being able to contribute to this community in a meaningful way; I could help make the servers a safe place, report some naughty-naughties and chat with people who really like the games I like. I felt USEFUL since I haven't been able to work for a while. At the same time, in real life, I've been practicing something called "assertiveness". Wikipedia defines it thus: "Assertiveness is the quality of being self-assured and confident without being aggressive." This community has allowed me the opportunity to develop that very productively and since I grew up, and have lived in, some pretty brutal and violent conditions, this has been key to my recovery process.     The interesting thing about this is that all I feel is gratitude. I feel gratitude because this clan is more or less filled with people that want the best for each other. And while I struggled last year and early this year, I received nothing but motivation and support while I worked on myself. I've gotten so much better too. I have never had so much success in my life before, and F|A has been a valuable part of that process. Quite honestly, I think FA is giving people a place to feel comfortable, respected, and welcome in a way that their life can't, for one reason or another, provide. I might go so far as to say loved, even. And that is something so valuable that it can't be priced.   I better stop there before the waterworks fire up and smear my writing. What a good chapter for my book this will be..   Sincerely,   -V

Interview: GoongalaJones

This interview is with a member I've met via Day of Infamy (DOI) and discord voice chat. He has positively impacted me the first day I met him. Very intelligent and open person. A wonderful online friend. Many people here can most likely say the same about him. If you haven't yet met this well-spoken and friendly man, here is a glimpse. Presenting... GoongalaJones (Mr.Jones, Goongala, Goon) https://fearless-assassins.com/profile/23524-googalajones/   And thank you again, for taking the time to answer a few questions with such honesty and detail.   1. Where were you born and raised? My birthplace lies in the ancient city of Alexandria, just off the coast of the Mediterranean, North of Egypt. As for the latter part of the question, most of my early upbringing was spent in the beautiful city I call home, and later, in other places.   2. What languages do you speak? Do you have a favorite? A bit of backstory about that! Ever since my younger years, sounds has always fascinated me. Hearing the different calls of birds, the sounds of animals, and even to try and imitate these voices, thus evolving into mimicking different accents and dialects on the fly. Onto the answer! Fluently, eight. They are as follows: Arabic (my mother tongue), German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Mandarin. As an Egyptian, we’re not really taught the language of our ancestors (the ones you see in hieroglyphs), but the most recent script, Demotic, is one that numerous wonderful friends of mine have helped me learn and understand through Coptic, an Orthodox Christian script derived from Demotic, whom I have the utmost respect and gratitude for. Other languages that I’ve come to learn and be able to use in conversations are Greek, Swedish, Dutch, Japanese (on its way to become on the fluency list, wish me luck!), Pashto, Swahili, Zulu, Xhosa, Hebrew and Farsi.   3. What do you like to do in your spare time (besides gaming)? Reading and writing! Started reading when I was three and a half years old, and have been continuing to do so since! Writing soon followed when I learnt to love languages. I would (and still do) read just about everything I can get my hands at any time. When I started writing, I used to love recording the narration I would recite of my writings onto old cassette tapes my dad kept on hand at home. Usually, I also like making up characters in writing and giving them a voice. Martial arts have been a staple since I was at the wee age of twelve. My routine is usually to go to a dojo (where available), do a full body workout, practice on sandbags and dummies, then spar with anyone willing! Whenever there isn’t a dojo around, I love going for runs, especially after dawn, and ending just after sunrise.
  4. What are you most proud of? Being blessed with strong willpower. There are times where I doubted it when it would
have counted, but looking back, it’s been what has driven this humble human to
become who he is today.
  5. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
The future is most uncertain, but I have faith it shall be in a most wonderful place.
  6. What are your lifelong dreams?
To become a knowledgeable, multi-disciplinary, disciplined human being.
  7. What do you hope to achieve everyday?
Making someone’s day and brain happier and smarter!
  8. What is your greatest fear?
No longer being able to help myself or anyone around me, especially loved ones.
  9. What’s your favorite album or song?
Personally, I have no favourites. Instrumentals have always been my preference, just
because I feel it’s a crime to tie down the beauty of music with lyrics when you can
interpret it the way you would want. That is not to say that there are a lot of great hits
out there!
Music, in and of itself, is also a language. It’s also a huge enhancer to when you want
to start learning a language!
This would be one of my all-time favourites (That’s the oud. Used to play that for
about 3 years until studies got a lot more hectic) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyNXeCfPB2U
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGVyFbZfqdM
  10. What's the last book you read?
I am a HUGE film noir/detective and crime fan!
Blood Test by Jonathan Kellerman.
  11. What's the best movie you've seen? Series?
When it comes to series, Band of Brothers, for sure!
As for movies, Casablanca!
  12. What’s your secret talent?
Wouldn’t be a secret if it’s out there, eh? :’)
  13. What’s your favorite dessert?

The ability to heal serious and fatal illnesses.
  21. Have you ever been in love?

However, I was a INTERPOL field officer for the good part of two years, mainly in crime
scene investigations. Started out as an intern during my second year of college, and
after much studying and training, I was given a service badge and pistol. I am no
longer a part of the organisation presently, but I do help out as a consultant from time

the exuberant people of the clan as possible!
  28. Any strange stories since your joining in April 2018?
Meeting Major Stalvern and finding out he’s the long, lost, British brother I never had
would be one of them!
  29. What piece of advice could you give to noob members?
Be who you are, be kind, you’re part of a family.
  30. Any role models in the clan or people you look up to?

Asus RT-AC66U - Router Review

Asus RT-AC66U router review   Amazon.com price (90 USD) Amazon.co.uk price (105 GBP) Amazon.de (125 Euro)   Image Source     Technical details: Dual-band, 802.11ac, up to 1750Mbps
AiRadar intelligently strengthens wireless connections via high-powered amplification and beam-forming
4x gigabit ethernet LAN ports
2x USB 2.0 ports 256MB ram 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz (can be active at the same time)
Web-based interface Advanced cooling (whatever that means)   The specs are pretty good, especially considering this is not a new (2018) router. Most people now would (rightfully so) expect USB 3.0. The "advanced cooling" sounds like a gimmick or something every router company could say. However I have noticed that it does not get as hot compared to routers I've previously owned (like the Cisco-Linksys E4200). I have not had issues with this router when it comes to heat, and rarely have to restart it.   Speed wise it is able to handle whatever I do. Gaming and streaming netflix works with no problems, even with more than one person on the router.   Connection with Chromecast works great. It may rarely loose connection but usually that is a problem with the chromecast, and only sometimes requires a router restart.   I've owned this router since 2013 and see no point in replacing it. It has not noticeably degraded since then. The only reason I could see upgrading would be to attach a hard drive to it (since this one is only usb 2.0) or maybe to find one that has better web applications. This Asus supports the cloud applications that Asus has, but I haven't been impressed by them and haven't found a good use for them. A huge problem with this router is that when you attach a hard drive, the CPU goes to 100% constant. I remember trying it a few years ago and at the time there was no fix for it. I haven't checked, but I doubt that there is a fix right now.   Adding a VPN directly on the router is not supported with the default firmware. To do this you need to use other router software like DD-WRT. The one I currently use can be found here. DD-WRT allows you to add a VPN to your router and turn it on/off whenever you want. It supports OpenVPN, PPTP, and TOR.   VPN that I use is called Private Internet Access (PIA).

Interview: LeftWingVixen

Thank you Vixy for taking the time to answer these questions! My goal for this interview is to have members and non members get to know her because she is not only an awesome FA member who's been around for some time now, but also a spectacular human. To kick off my hopefully series of interviews... based in Portland, OR, USA... Presenting: https://fearless-assassins.com/profile/13388-leftwingvixen/   1. What do you like to do in your spare time besides gaming? * I like to read crime-related novels and watch Crime Drama movies, I'm heavily influenced by 1970 culture and love the thrill of chasing criminal psychology on a medical level. I also like to sketch using graphite or use some of my oil paints, I also write journal entries that I hope to collaborate and publish one day!   2. What are you most proud of? * My ability for my heart to keep beating, it has gone through hardships but has overall became resilient over time. As long as I'm not six feet underground, I'm grateful and proud of everything and everyone that has made my life what it is.   3. What are your lifelong dreams? * [rubs paws together] OKAY. Currently, I graduate Mortuary School next Summer, in which I will have an Associates of Mortuary Science. From then on, I’d like to continue working for my funeral home as I chase a Bachelors and/or Masters in Pathology [the study of disease]. I’d like to research into eventually becoming a Medical Examiner [physician], however my Plan B if I can’t get to Medical School would be to go into Death Scene Investigation or Forensics. I also hope to own a dog and a Cadillac Hearse one day. All the while becoming more proficient in my pole-dancing skills, I enjoy entering in competitions and hope to actually WIN one one day and become a centerfold for a local, Portland trade magazine -- just for my own ego, if anything.   4. What do you hope to achieve everyday? * To learn something new everyday, whether from life or school, and become one step closer to my goal(s) stated above.   5. What’s your greatest fear? * To die not on my own terms, suddenly/abruptly. I have many things to experience and people to love!   6. What’s your favorite album or song? * One of my favorite albums is AM by Arctic Monkeys, 2016-ish.  I get to see them in October! I also enjoy the album How to Become A Human Being by Glass Animals. I have too many individual songs I adore -- I dance to damn near them all.   7. Early bird or night owl? * Night owl, definitely. I have diagnosed insomnia, so I like using the night time to limit my distractions I have during the day to focus on my art.   8. What's the last book you read? * Coroner At Large by Thomas Noguchi. The second book of his Coroner series, Thomas Noguchi is a Japanese-American physician who was the Chief Medical Examiner in Los Angeles from 1967 - 1982, making him responsible for taking care of high-profile autopsies such as Janis Joplin, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Kennedy, and Sharon Tate. I like to learn to what he has to say, in hopes of adopting some of his tips to when I eventually get into the field too.   9. What's the best movie you've seen? Series? * The Usual Suspects [1995], surprise surprise, a crime drama. I don’t believe ‘series’ can be quality when there’s multiple additions. It’s cute when some people name themselves Keiser Soze on the server, based from the movie. I also enjoy Seven [1995] and American Beauty [1999]; basically anything with Kevin Spacey makes me want to lick the screen. Other favorite flicks are Lucky Number Slevin [2006] and  Harold and Maude [1971].   10. What’s your favorite dessert? * MOTHER-FUKKEN CHEESECAKE. New York Style.   11. If you were an animal, which one would you want to be and why? * I feel if people don’t know my answer to this, they don’t know me very well at all. [Fox.]   12. If you could choose one superhero power, what would it be? * To be able to telepathically lift objects. It would be a lifesaver when lifting the deceased in the prep room to clean under them as well as casually floating objects my way that I’m too lazy to reach for, like the television remote.   13. Have you ever been in love? * “I still love everyone I’ve loved, even if I cross the street to avoid them.” -- Uma Thurman    14. Have you traveled? If so, where’s your favorite destination? * Yes! I’ve been to America [since I live here], Canada, Ireland, Scotland, France, England x2, and The Netherlands. Strangely I haven’t gotten a chance to go to Mexico. One of my favorite destinations would be Amsterdam, everyone seemed like they were on vacation and I loved smoking a joint publicly in a bar whilst working on my Mortuary Law homework, half a world away.   15. What made you join FA? * The community! I fell in love with the unified sense of pride that the members of F|A exuded, and I felt I would have been a good addition to heighten morale on the server and become a dependable admin.   16. What is your most memorable moment in FA? * Tipsy !disoriented me and told me he wouldn’t fix it unless I got at least two kills with the panzer. The first respawn I did, I got a double kill. HA!   17. What server is the most fun? * Jay1 all the way.  Where the jokes are made up and the frags don’t matter.   18. Have you met other players from America? * Yes! I have met and hung out with EvilButters [and met his very nice family], had dinner with Sleepy in Salem, OR about 4 years ago, had dinner with Leon_S_Kennedy in Los Angeles last year, and Humpty lives near me so we’ve hung out and went to the movies and he supported me from my show. TheAbbot and Elk live near my hometown in Southern California yet I haven’t gotten to meet them yet. I’m probably missing a few, but I always enjoy meeting fellow players.   19. Any strange stories since your joining in December 2013? * If there wasn’t any strange stories I would lose interest fast, but none I can actively recall.   20. What piece of advice could you give to noob members? * Rome wasn’t built in a day, be patient and use good communication skills when addressing a potential problem or suggestion.   21. Any role models in the clan or people you look up to? * I’ve always looked up to RedBaird for his Service in the country and the experiences he’s faced. I also love RedAngel, Audrey, Neuro, Hecken, Phobia, DD, and AcidParadox. All of these members have made me feel welcome and included, while I enjoy all of their company. Oh and I GUESS Tipsy.    ❤️

Ocean vs Mountain

I am blessed to be able to have experienced so much in my life. There’s more to come for sure! I’m still fairly young I am also blessed to be able to choose and decide where it is that I want to settle down and grow roots. I’d like to dedicate this blog to discussing life in the mountains and life near the sea. Maybe writing this will help me decide where it is that I’d like to settle down and grow roots.   I’ll begin with where I was born. This was in the coastal state of California, USA. I didn’t really know it till later but I do feel at home near the sea. I’m drawn to it. So when the Disney movie Moana came out I totally related. When I feel challenged in life with the ups and downs, I turn to the big blue sea. The repetitive, never ending cycle of visiting and retreating waves is meditation at its finest. A friend of mine introduced to me a little something. You first find a stone and while holding it, think of a troubling thought, then yell and throw it into the ocean. You should feel a sense of relief. I used to want to be a marine biologist because it meant I’d be studying sea creatures and mammals and work with the ocean itself, everyday. Also, there’s never a dull sunset on the west coast of the US. Orange skies as the sun sets into the dark blue sea. Another thing about the ocean besides how powerful it is, is its mystery. There is a lot we don’t know about it. Keeping you curious.     I ran from the ocean for 5 years to the inland state of Utah. Salt Lake City is a desert in the summer and a skiing haven in the winter. You may think that since there is a lake there you must be at sea level. Not true. The altitude is 4,226′. There is a lot going on in this city but I am going to focus on how it was to live near the mountains. You look at the mountains and you see ridges and canyons. You may wonder what it is that people find so thrilling about the mountains. It keeps you healthy that’s for sure. There’s a lot of physical activity available like hikes, climbing, swimming in lakes, and skiing. The view is amazing once you reach the top and the feeling of accomplishment is even greater. There’s something spiritual lying in the mountains as well as the ocean. But you could say there is a lot more to easily explore here. Keeping you adventurous.       Maybe ya’ll could help me decide where in this great big world is the best to live.   Thanks ❤️

The final time

After many hours of thought, I have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to step away as a member of this clan. There have been some personal things I've been dealing with that take precedence and the lack of time I have set aside for the clan isn't fair to the community as a whole. As of today I hereby retract my membership and wish you all happy gaming and further growth as a clan.

Mr.karizmatic The Grind

Hello Everyone, how are you all. Many of you know me but for new folks or to those who dont know me , My name is Mr.Karizmatic ( RL : Abdul Mufeed ) . i  am from INDIA ( Hyderabad) yeah yeah our biryani is famous. Well i was meaning to write a blog from soo soo long time , finally after my master plato started the trend ,i thought i shall share some of my life situation and stuff.    First of all BIG thanks to all the people who supported me in everything and helped me become staff.    After becoming staff, i know alot of you havnt seen much of me, that is because i was super busy with my RL job, i am a Mechanical Engineer . I have moved forward in a field called HVAC ( heating ventilation and Air Conditioning ) it is a branch of mechanical engineering. I started my job in september of 2017 and it was going great, i was doing small projects where i have to design , Calculate how much Cool air a room needs , by looking into each criteria . we calculate how much heat a room is getting from outside and inside and then we design to eradicate that heat and keep the temperature at a Human comfort level. and than we shall decide what duct size we need to move the airflow from one place to another at what velocity and at what friction level . etc... And many more things are there, i wont bore u guys.   So basically 2 months back we got 2 big projects , and the client is one of the biggest clients in INDIA . So we got 2 projects from them 1 is in Bangalore( Ground to 5th floor) and other is in Delhi(Ground to 6 floors). We started working on both projects simultaneously. We have to do heatload calculations, duct designing, duct routing, diffuser placement,All mechanical equipment placements etc etc. So i was working from past 45 days for almost 12-15 hours everyday, sometimes i worked for 30hrs too. I am not complaining cause i was learning soo much . That is the reason i wasnt available much on forums or servers, and i was lacking in INS and DOI work too, but finally 1 project banglore project is almost done we have designed and Revit modelling is also over. Delhi project is also going on. Finally i am starting to have more free time and i can come home in actual office hours. This was the reason i wasnt much active and wasnt been around lately. But i am back and shall be working more as a STAFF with my responsiblities and everything. I am still learning.
Now for DOI and INS , this is one of the closest things to me , i have been working on this both games from past 7-8 months i think or more. And i think ( i maybe wrong or 100% right ) alot of them thinks that i alone call the shots and dont listen to anyone or doesnt care about feedback etc. This is 100% wrong. There are leaders above me whom i discuss and ask there permissions, And Including DD. I never took any decision on my own, So plz plz dont think that they gave me the access and now i am behaving like a god that i have all the access of both games and i am not listening, DD and leaders can take the access from me easily with in a second. I have never broken there trust and i never will. ANd to all the DOI and INS or any memeber or regular in this clan plz plz if u have anything to say to me plz let me know, i know i have done alot of mistakes , i m not perfect , but i m ready to learn from my mistakes and not repeat them. i am not sooo good at communication and my english isnt that good so alot of time i come out as a rude person. But i am trying on that and working on it. Hope those who dislike me or thought some bad stuff we can start over again and work together.

I am always always open for suggestion and everything. My PM or Discord is always open , even on steam too. IF u want to help plz plz come forward, i always need helping hands, don't wait for me to ask, cause i dont know who can do what and who don't. But if you know stuff and wants to help doesn't matter if it is small or big , just let me know or post on forums, together we can make INS and DOI an awesome #1 servers and by that F|A will be on TOP always. We all are F|Amily . Again i want to apologies if i ever disrespected u guys or anything.

Lets work together and make this clan a better place and to keep this clan alive for many many years to come.   Thankyou all

Fear of Failure, Focus.

Fear of Failure Failure, something many fear. Weather it be in the weight room, at work, college, anything. This is what it has come to in 2018, you give something a try, fail and just say "I can't do it"? Is that supposed to be some excuse? You don't simply walk away from the challenges you are faced with in life, you plant your feet into the ground and keep moving forward. For example, we did Power Clean Max lift in weight room yesterday. One small skinny kid that had joined our group decided he wanted to just do 95 freakin' pounds for all the sets, let his low standards get the best of him. I said "Hell no", threw on more weight and told him to get his ass back up to the bar. More or less, he hit a new max weight. Not that it was much weight or anything, but he still did it. He was afraid of failing, so he took the easy way out. Meanwhile, me and my friend who were already 20 pounds into a new max lift, kept adding weight until we failed more than 3 times. I was reppin', seeing everyone almost snapping their wrists around me, it did not phase me at all. I was in a zone, a place where I simply don't give a damn. I was not phased when I sat in the face of failure, repping more weight than I ever had before. I was focused on the task at hand, and was ready for what I was facing. Hell, when I added more and more weight on that bar, I felt like I could do anything.  So, are you going to let life lay you flat on your ass, or will you get up and finish strong?   Focus Something many people can't do these days. Lock in, settle on their goals for the future. You see, people let the smallest distractions keep them from reaching their all time best in the classroom, weight room, or on the football field. Thinking about what others think of you, worrying about what is to come in the future, just focus for once. Keep the negatives out of your head, and grind. Trust me, it reflects on Friday nights when you go out on that football field and represent your town. Are you going to forget a call last moment, 5 yards away from the end zone? That's on you. Going to parties on the weekend, doing drugs and alcohol, when you should be studying? Is that truly how you want to live your life? Be a screw up now, and pay for it later? Excel on the football field, but can't get into a college because your GPA is total crap? Does not sound fun now, does it?    Lock in, focus up. Your future depends on it.

Strength, Weakness, Dedication.

Strength, Weakness, Dedication.  Three simple words that define a human being, both mentally and internally. Why? It's what you've got deep down inside that shows.       Everyday is another chance to climb to success. The question is, how will you get there? I'll tell you one thing, you sure as hell won't do it by sleeping in or lowering your standards. Take it in an aspect of, "If I don't drag my ass out of bed, someone's gonna take my spot". That spot can be anything from football, work, or just life in a general aspect. The thing is, you have to differentiate someone taking your spot, as to taking someone else's. Every rep, every minute, every chance matters, so take it like it truly counts. Don't wuss out just because you are afraid of something, get the job done or else you never will. There comes a later time in life for work ethic, but you need to build it now. It is called Preparation. Here at my high school, we practice four times a week for football (not including weight room sessions), just to play one game. Sounds crazy right? Thursday or Friday night lights is where Preparation reflects on who you are as a team, your accountability for one another. Preparation is only the first phase, you have a million other things to focus on. Are you going to let yourself skip a rep, or give up, just because you are tired? Hell no. I had to tell a friend in the weight room to get his stuff together after he was acting like a total drama queen because we had to do another whole set of lifts, saying he could not do it. Did he end up finishing strong? Damn right. Would he have held himself to high standards if I was not there? Probably not. Tying back to what was said in the beginning, every rep matters. I SMILE when we have another set to do, because it is another opportunity to get better, have another stream of sweat run down your face.  You see yourself winning, but others do not want to see you winning. For example, I've got a friend who tries to bring me down, because he knows I am coming to take his spot. I am working harder, more, and better than him. USE those people as motivation, keep pushing no matter what. Don't show weakness, that only makes you look worse. Don't let the coaches see you struggle on a rep, get that bar up so fast that it looks like lightweight, show some strength for once. Dedication plays a role in everything in your life. I AM dedicated as a football player, to my team, to myself, and to my academic's. I am a straight A's student because I come to school with the dedication for my life in the future and getting into a good college. I don't really want to get up at 6:30 every morning to lift with the JV and Varsity players, considering it is not mandatory for us freshman. I do it for the team, myself, and my future. What are you going to do?   I work my ass off everyday in that weight room, it is grind season, so get after it.

It's been a long time

It's been a long time and I haven't shared any new updates since a while. Sometimes, I feel it's just 2008 and we just started our community but when I see the calendar, it's 2018. When we started while back it was just me, Rainier, Joe, FEM, yoyo and medic. Rest others followed over the period of time. Medic was the one who pursued me big time, to add COD4 servers when COD4 was at peak. Then we become super popular in COD4 in top 5 and over the period of time, server activity declined. My this year goal is to make COD4 popular again slowly with new server settings and bring some oldies back for fun. I still can't believe Anique, you are still around. Even V!per came back from FAG days.    I still can't believe almost 10 years have passed by. 10 years is a long time. I was single, working, running community during free time and enjoying my free life.  It used to be really fun time and it still is. But let's be honest, oldies are like your first love in life. You never forget them no matter what. I just wish Rainier, Joe, Medic and others would get active again. I kinda miss them sometimes. I am glad yoyo is still around and kicking, irrespective to our personal differences while back. But hey it's all history and I look forward each day towards rising sun!   I never for even once thought I will get to see 2018 with =F|A=. I had some rough time in my life during 2010-2013 and lot's of people helped me out. It would really hurt when I have to say, sorry guys, we are closing our community because of less donations, less peeps, less server activity. I get it, whatever comes in existence has to expire. But then every year, I say to myself, God no not this year, one year more. I would hate to see not talking to all of you.    We will be soon looking to promote some of our new members to help out oldies like me and fill in the shoes so that they can continue legacy of =F|A=. Does that mean, I am going inactive? No not at all. I will be around and kicking. In fact, I have started advertising about our website on COC, COR, COD4, ET, Insurgency and DOI forums to get more new players to our community. This community has given me so much, that I can't forget.    For once, I wish, I can go on lunch with all the members but alas, we humans are dreamers and that's what keep us alive. We are nothing but emotional animals, looking for some love from our friends and family. In this case =F|A= has been my first baby, friends and family!   I for one, thank you to all of you for being so nice to me over all the years. From members to staff, I am lucky enough to find friends who came out for rescue when I needed the help most.    I will see you all tomorrow. Have a nice weekend ladies & gentleman!

Platform 2a - International encounters

An international gaming clan... What's that? Instead of with friends, you play with virtual strangers with whom you can't communicate? No no no no no. Instead of friends you already have, you play with people you have not yet met. Those guys are flesh and blood just like you and when you wanna meet them, guess what? You can!   In this blog entry I'll tell you the story of how this gaming clan made me meet with total strangers, delivered me a bright yellow "F|A Clan Co-Leader" T-shirt and made me invite a guy in my home who used to kill me several times a day on the server.   First there's Hamburg. How do you set up a real life meeting? It's simple. You make a topic on the forums, make a poll about the meeting place and date, someone books a hotel and... You meet there. Or do you now? Our good friend Raziel was the one booking the hotel, you see. And this nice mister had disappeared from our good earth. So we ended up looking for a new hotel for Destiny and Guardian and I ended up at the strangest camping site I have ever encountered (there was no grass for the tents, but stones).   Once we all found a place to sleep, Kowalski was ready to show us the city of Hamburg. We ate some weird fish burgers at the port, took some pictures for the rest of the clan and ate ice cream, bathing in the sun. It was all really fun. My only complaint was that DJ, Destiny, Kowalski nor Guardian were pretty girls but eh... You can't have everything! DJ bought us cookies and this is also where DJ told me I was promoted to co-leader! Quite strange hearing about clan stuff from a real life DJ :p. As if that ain't enough for the strangeness, I received a yellow "F|A Clan Co-Leader" T-shirt in my letterbox a few days later. How often do you get those from your other friends, huh?!   At night we went for drinks. We took some extra beers to the port and stayed there talking until 4 am. What do gamers talk about? Yeah, sure. Games. Clan gossip. But also politics (it's allowed on those meetings!), life, girls,... The advantage about having no girls in the company is... You can talk about them. When Guardian and Destiny went home I stayed a little longer to visit the Schanzenviertel with Kowalski. It's a really cool "slum" (see picture). Last year I returned him the favor and showed him Ghent. I have a feeling we may meet again.     Eh, I can't tell you everything in one blog entry so you'll have to hear about the other international encounter in the next part

Travel History

So I'm thinking, since this is a diverse community filled with people from all over the world, I'd create another word barf of a blog revolving around travel.   The following are places that I have visited around this wonderful world. The reviews are purely from personal experience. In no particular order:
Sweden
This country is beautiful inside and out. And not everyone is blonde. There’s a country side and a city side. You can easily find the up-town feel in Stockholm. People dress it, talk it, walk it. The architecture is amazing with the cobble stones and yellow buildings. There are some awesome museums there and the boat ride is a must in the summer otherwise prepare to freeze in the winter. There are charming hotels located everywhere and things are walking distance, but transportation is fairly easy to navigate. The country side is beautiful. My favorite are the Falu Red style homes. Many Swedes tend to keep to themselves and their social circles most of the time. I notice this a lot in airports-you know it’s the right gate when no one is talking, but everyone is staring. The younger generations are more “outgoing”. Tourists are very much welcome in most parts of this Scandinavian country. Knowing the language can help when visiting smaller towns (obvi). The food is delicious, fresh, and healthy. There’s this fast food chain Sibylla that I drool for though. Sweden plays a big role in science and invention. You may have heard of the Nobel Prizes. Or dynamite and Ikea. There’s this thing called “fika”! It’s like a coffee hour, where you relax and chat over some pastries and coffee. Happens everyday. Prepare to get fat. I think they love the color white because most homes I’ve seen have white everything. Financially, you’ll want to save up a great deal if you plan on visiting here. Language wise, english is widely spoken so you are in luck. You can see the northern lights in the...northern parts. I want to visit northern Sweden sometime and attend a reindeer race.
Norway
Crossing the Swedish/Norway border...there was literally a bald border line-no trees nothing. Otherwise it all looks the same- green forests and beautiful people. Until you get to the coast. Fjords will blow your mind. A picture doesn’t suffice. I remember taking a car boat thingacross a body of water. Never done that before. There are cute tourist friendly towns throughout the way to bigger cities. If you like seafood, this is a wonderful place to be. Financially, you’ll want to save up more than what you did for Sweden.
Thailand
Depending on how you plan your visit, you can really get in a lot of culture in less than a month. We all know that flight tickets are the expensive part. Once you get here everything is affordable. I’m not a pro on how to travel here as a tourist because I went as part of a group where I paid an amount for the trip and the itinerary was scheduled. There is an airline that flies you around Southeast Asia for very cheap though and I forget the name. The rural villages I saw were life changing. Riding elephants near Chang Mai was amazing. The shopping here is fun and wallet friendly. (Atleast from $ to Thai Baht). You’ve most definitely heard about this country’s diverse selection of food. If not, you’re in for a piece of heaven when you visit. The CURRY. VEGGIES. MEAT. THE SPICES. The people here are friendly and always smiling. Thailand isn’t called “the land of smiles” for nothing. Bangkok is quite the specimen. Aside from the smell, there is some beauty to see like the temples. You’ll find temples all over Thailand! Buddhism is very much prevalent here and like they say, it’s not a religion, it’s a lifestyle. I’ve heard Phuket is a place to visit. Never been. Also heard it’s fairly dirty. Can’t forget about the islands! There are many. The one I went to had resorts all along the beach as well as restaurants and bars. You’ll be sure to get whatever you need outta your system visiting Thailand.
USA
I may be a little biased, but California is the best state around. You’ll notice that it’s pretty diverse all around. All you need to do is follow the US 101 and you’ll see all the good stuff. Unless you want to see Yosemite and other inland places. Check out the rich agriculture. San Diego has got a good vibe, LA has night life, and concerts. Santa Monica has an eventful pier. So does Santa Barbara which also has good shopping and farmers markets. San Luis Obispo has a cool college town. Obviously you have to see San Francisco, the city by the bay. Don’t forget to hit up the beaches as you visit. Venice, Santa Monica, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara are some good ones. Good food is found everywhere. Coastal towns will have tasty seafood. Oh and when in SF, try the clam chowder about a quarter mile south of Pier 39, by the famous sign. I have yet to visit sea glass beach in northern Cali.
New York is also a big state. I spent 2 days in New York City and that was not enough. There is a lot to see there. Went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and saw The Thinker and some of my man Van Gogh (Starry Night is at the other museum). Walked the Brooklyn Bridge. Went to the top floor of the Empire State Building. The transportation via subway is good as long as you’re paying attention. It was freezing and windy when I was there, but the sun was out so it wasn’t all that bad. Gotta visit the Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero memorial next time. The other part of NY I’ve seen is upstate. The Niagara Falls are a must see. Beware, make sure you have your passport so you can visit the Canadian side if you decide to drive there, it’s prettier. Otherwise you can walk without needing a passport.
I’ve spent some time in Seattle. Hip and busy city. There are some good outdoor things to do like a walk through a modern art gallery and shop the market. Don’t forget to visit the first Starbucks! I was there for a wedding and it rained LOL.
Oregon has two halves, the dry farm country, and the hipster west coast. There’s more I promise, I haven’t seen it all. The country side, atleast where I was, there are a lot of hardworking, pro-gun, farmers, and Republicans. Portland has got a mix, and I’m pretty sure there’s a majority of tree-huggers, and Democrats. It rains a lot here like Seattle so prepare for that. I went on a few outdoor runs and the air is fresh. There’s also this really awesome ice cream shop that has the random-est mix of flavors.     Colorado is a another state that is geographically split down the middle. There's the dry desert east and the ski-town, agricultural west. One of the highlights you may have heard of, CO was one of the first to legalize marijuana. There is some great skiing here. You may have heard of Aspen, Vail, and Breckenridge.   Utah is tbh a beautiful state providing some of the nation's best outdoor adventures. No offense to the Mormons, but they ruin it. They chose a perfect place to settle themselves long ago. They do keep the city clean and trimmed I'll have to admit. So just ignore them and their views when you visit here for world renowned snow. There are I think about 5 resorts within 45 mins of the airport. There's also national parks in the southern parts (Moab and Zion are big ones).
Can’t forget about Hawaii. Kauai is known as the Garden Island of the chain. It’s beautiful here. Again ABC stores are pretty pricey so save up folks. Jurassic Park was filmed here. Lots of beaches to snorkel and lounge at. Some are less touristy. The big island, Kona, has the volcanic parts and green parts. Take a helicopter ride around to see it all! Be sure to buy a good tourist book that will help you find your way around these islands.   ----------
Well folks, I’ve been to a few other places (Australia, London, Germany, Poland) but I was too young to remember all of the details. One day I’ll add photos of my travels to my gallery. Hope you enjoyed this! Let me know what you think. Where have you been?

Platform 1 - A gaming clan, why?

I decided to take a look at this beautiful new blog environment and submit the first blog on this new website. What better than answering the question "why are you in the clan?". When I talk to people, this clan can be one of the subjects of conversation. A common reflex: "Why are you in a gaming clan? You don't seem like a nerd?". Because that is what many people think. That we are nerds because we are in this clan. In this blog I will give you one reason why being in a gaming clan was a good idea for me. When I get time I might write other blogs, with other answers.   My reason why I am still in a gaming clan is very particular. Indeed, it all started with gaming. I played the game enemy territory and had lots of fun with my real life friends. During my exams I went looking for other servers to take a short break. I ended up on nq2, where I played with some regulars who wanted to play objective-based, balanced games. We decided to join FA, first purely to be able to use !put to even the teams. We moved to nq3 and things shifted from gaming to talking. We all joked together late evenings during what we called "specparties". We became friends.   When I had difficult times in my life, I had the luxury to have two friend groups to help me trough. When my real life friends grew tired of my nagging, my friends on the server were there for me. To give sense to my existence during those difficult times and to thank this second group of friends, I started helping out a lot on the forums. I was the one making gameday posts, I made some tutorials and so on. Years later here I am, a leader of a gaming clan. Unplanned and never desired.   The lesson I learned from this experience and I want others to learn from it is this: you can never give too much to people who earned your respect. You will get back what you gave a thousandfold. Not only literally because these people will give you what you gave them, but also because you start feeling better about yourself when you help people. I decided to repeat the engagement I made online in my real life by doing volunteer work. As a result I now understand a lot more about the world and the people in it, my languages have improved and I get respect from people who know what I'm doing.   Be ambitious in everything you do in your life. When you lived your life, it will always be incomplete but at least you can say you took everything there was to take. To me (and of course this is personal), the time I spend gaming is better spent being part of a clan made up of beautiful, motivated people. That way you can help out and when you need it, eventually you will get something back.

Ingenuity of children

I've been thinking about something. I don't know how interesting this will be for people but I have a rhetorical question that I want to share: I wonder if the ingenuity of children is to do with their willingness to try new things? Children learn much faster than adults, it's well-known... Unless it's biological, this is my conclusion.   I know I used to be fearless with technology. I would press all kinds of buttons and turn knobs. I didn't care. I don't take as many risks with that now... I bet you it's because I have mistakes logged in my brain that i remember, "Okay, you tried that once, so don't do it". Maybe that's our limitation as adults at times?   I know a child asked me recently what was wrong with my eye. Just straight up. I was taken aback, but it was also refreshing so I explained it was Strabismus. There was no meandering or "pussy-footing" around and finding out later... She just asked the question and got an answer... Of course, mistakes are USEFUL; they advise against being foolish. Taking too many precautions, however, can be equally damaging.   To put it plainly, apart from biology, I think children's ability to learn quickly has to do with their willingness to take risks; they don't have a pile of mistakes recorded to make them hesitate.

Reminder

You may not see many rants from me and I may not be the best writer despite english being my first language! Well Swedish kinda is too. I’m sure many of you have feelings regarding this so comment as you wish. Anywho, I just wanted to write something about a topic I hold dear to my heart, and that is selfishness.   I assume you all are familiar with the term. If not here’s a brief definition from dictionary.com: “devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one's own interests, benefits, welfare, etc.” See the thing is, many times it goes unnoticed. We often times get caught in the cycle of work, home, maybe a gym visit, hobby, home, eat, game, sleep, whatever. We go about our day to day lives not realizing that we are being selfish. This is completely normal for every human. If we weren’t selfish we would be dead by now, extinct! This is the first rule for many EMS providers- Is the scene safe? Before caring for another individual they check if the scene is safe. They wait until it is. Then they move in and respond. Does this happen to you often in your daily lives? Is this how you respond to a stranger before conversing/reacting? What if you didn’t worry if the scene was safe; just make a move? Anyway now I’ve gotten off topic. Maybe I’m losing myself here. Maybe you can get some ideas from this. That it’s not selfish of you to do what you need to do, to save yourself from further harm, even if that means you have to avoid and leave some people. That it’s ok to be selfish. But maybe we're missing out on something greater.   I want to confess that I’ve been selfish. I’m going to avoid personal life and just focus on life online with FA. I was looking for an outlet, perhaps a separate world, from real world things. And thanks to the internet you can be in some way social. You can chat, voice chat, observe the virtual physical character of others, and last but not least get promoted. I fell back into the hands of ET after some years away and found FA. Recently I was accepted into the clan. This was due to work done not only but myself as well as many members that noticed me, encouraged me, and helped me. I couldn’t be more grateful. Perhaps things moved too fast! But I guess I deserved it. Nevertheless, I was joining, recruiting, and socializing out of my own selfishness. I wanted to be accepted. And there’s some excitement to getting accepted somewhere based of everything but looks. Now I’ve confused myself a little. Been drinking some wine. Surprised if you’ve lasted this far.   I haven’t been around FA long enough to truly grasp what is going on with who and where. All I can say is that it mimics the real world pretty well. You know why, because there are real people behind these users. People get sick, have accidents, vent their issues, ask for help, get mad, get crushes, make friendships. It really sucks to see people pulling some major troll business. Ultimate selfishness. You see, I don’t have any issues with people being selfish, but I do when their actions start affecting others. What about lack of action? Same thing there though because some major issues can occur if someone decides to back down and not stand up for what’s right. I’m glad to have joined a clan with similar tolerance levels. There seems to be a lot of good morals in the roots of this FAmily tree. There are a lot of unselfish people looking out for one another. And this is what keeps a community thriving.   We all have our selfish and unselfish moments. Notice them, work on them! Look out for your own safety. You are priceless! Help someone everyday. I’m still growing up. I have a lot to work on. I’m asking you to remember that there are lives behind each of us here. So please remember one another if you can, if you want to be a productive member of this community. Remember your recruits and recruiters. Reach out and keep contact with one another! I get it that sometimes we may think, “Keep up or get lost.”, but also keep in mind that we shouldn’t let one another fall behind or get unnoticed when there’s effort.   Well there’s my first blog. Hope it made sense and that you enjoyed some piece of it.

Just time for a blog

Howdy folks! Been a few days, I know. My consistency has gone out the window and I apologize to those of you who take the time out of your lives to read my random babblings. So I'm currently engorging myself with a large pizza and cheesy bread, and a 2 litre of coca-cola. Not healthy I am aware, but due to my active history/lifestyle I require about 4000 Calories a day or else I become lightheaded and all around dont feel good. Ugh main problem with that is when i grocery shop for just myself it costs about 400$ per trip which is about once every 3-3.5 weeks. My favorite meal: Jambalaya with Andouille sausage. Also, kinda depends on the time of year... Xmas time and such i really like chicken and dumplings. Or some reallllllllly good from scratch chicken noodle soup/ beef stew. What are yalls favorite meals?? I wanna get to know yall as best as possible because who knows, we may end up running into eachother without even meaning to ... would be one hell of a meet and greet lol. Hope yall are doin alright and keeping your spirits up. If ever yall need anything/ anyone to talk to just let me know and i promise to do whatever it is i can so as to help. Take care yall, until next time!

Happenings

Howdy y'all, I know it's been a few days since i last posted. I have been both extremely busy and quite tired after work. Anyhow, this is whats been up: a friend of mine is pregnant, a buddy just returned from deployment, a divisional dinner tonight at Sushi King in Norfolk, and still no real progress on the healing of my leg. I'm being referred to Orthopedics for MRI's and further testing/therapy. Also, i took it upon myself to become a better individual by enrolling in telecom style anger management. I'm starting to see a change for the better. I've been playing INS again which is a nice switch from the DOI and Stellaris binge I've currently been on. Finding a lot of non clan regulars who think its awesome we as members jump in alongside them and play. It's very fun to answer their questions and listen to their feedback about how our servers are their favorite hands down. Talk about a good feeling! So, this post, its for all of yall that make it possible to game on such well maintained servers and allow so many people a great friendly environment in which to be themselves and enjoy these awesome games. Lastly, I would like to thank all of the Veterans, Active Duty, and Reservists for their service. Tomorrow is Veterans Day in the States, and Remembrance Day in Canada. For those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, risk that sacrifice, and support your country and your familys, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm proud to serve alongside you all whether it be for the Stars and Stripes, or the Red and White, thank you. Take care folks i'll see you on the servers

The Weekend

Howdy all, today was a pretty bland saturday. though it is not yet complete. Today i went to work, took care of some administrative paperwork, went and got my truck serviced, and now surfing the forums. Later this evening is by far the most important part of the night: Alabama vs LSU in college football. I'm a die hard Alabama fan, always have been. Some would even say its the same level of commitment I put towards my friends lol, hoping to also continue the Stellaris campaign myself, Armory, and Blue have strung together. On a slightly different note/shameless plug: if youre able, should donate a few bucks, not a lot but some pocket change towards the yearly goal, ever since i joined last year it seems to be plateauing and gettin down to the wire. I know why everyone is in this clan: great camaraderie, great friends, and tons of gaming .... In another aspect I have grown to respect a lot of people on here and their ability to be friendly and professional. Keep it up =F|A=, people are taking notice in games from all over, they see our tag and they notice that's what exposure is all about, just make sure you represent us the way the clan deserves. Keep on keepin on folks.
