  1. Your point is accurate and valid (it's bs they don't just use like 1024MB = 1GB, etc..). I just checked with the "so-called" 2TB drive. # fdisk -l /dev/sdd Disk /dev/sdd: 2000.4 GB, 2000398933504 bytes (snip) While in fact, 2TB equals 2199023255552 bytes - even though fdisk reports it's 2000.4GB it's actually 1863.02 GB. (+-1.86 TB). - You present a valid point DrJoske (once again, haha) - still now I feel cheated (should have checked better) >.>
  2. I'm not sure of the limits of the NTFS filesystem, but the 2TB version (I got it delivered yesterday) had 2TB minus 400MB which was default stuff. I'm going to reformat the 2TB version to BrtFS I think. Then again, I'm assuming you use Windows so that leaves you with little choice regarding filesystem. The only con I've noticed so far is the sound it produces, it's not much - but you surely can hear it when your more than 50 cm away - maybe your desk is setup differently.
  3. You mentioned after formatting less disk space was available, you didn't mention however which filesystem was used. NTFS? Ext4, XFS, something else?
  4. Bonamana, You mentioned that some people forget to vote or are to late to do so, in which case it might be easier to remind people (somehow, maybe a banner in-game if there isn't one already) - mention it every once in a while during intermission or we could (if the server admins agree) try a longer intermission time for servers that have map voting. As for maps on the servers - I was actually thinking of writing a small web app in which users could vote for maps and every month or three months make a list of "top voted maps" per server A bit off topic, but here are two quick questions - but is there already such a thing? If not, is there interest in such a thing?
  5. Personally, people have the chance to vote. And if the majority votes for a map that has been played ~20 mins ago, that's fine with me. That's the entire reason for voting instead of running a rotation of sorts. The same thing happens at Silent #1 and I agree it can be annoying then again, Special Delivery TE for example I don't mind playing a lot. It's all personal preference. I'm going to suggest do nothing except maybe add *good* maps - but there's a limit of 32 maps by default I think.
  6. Honestly though. There are so many different things that can happen and you should decide not only the best course of actions - but you shouldn't forget, that your also choosing the possible consequences of your actions. There are *a lot* of possible actions and consequences for those actions, you can't anticipate them all, but you my friend, have an edge. Here's my real advice, firstly - figure out what it is you want exactly, then apply knowledge of yourself and of the one that sparkled your interested and see what's reachable and what isn't. - Once you got that, check if there are more "Yes" than "No"s. Let's assume there are more "No"s, then you should ask yourself "Am I willing to risk losing my friend because of this?" and if the answer is "Yes" - no need to continue reading, go for it!. If not, you should ask yourself are you able to live with the risk of "what if's"? If yes, "Are you *capable* of staying stable, as in you will not try in any way to alter the relationship unless it's in the best interest for said relationship?" <-- This means, that you'll go about things like normally. I've noticed that some people in such a situation that decided this was the best course of action found themselves getting annoying very quickly about a little thing that really was just pointless and irrelevant .. but in order to gain more and more attention they used it as an excuse. [This isn't lame, it's actually just something that might happen]. This is pretty much just a short example (it can actually be applied) of things to consider, of course this is just the basis and many more steps are required before you get a full picture and what you may call "clarity" of some sorts. Another way of thinking? Probably, why? Simple, consider a good amount of (viable and likely) possible outcomes of your actions, analyse them and act on the outcome. But *please* do yourself a favour and *do not* simply reject a result cause you don't like it. Finish the entire thing (even what's unwritten) first and then decide. .. Yes, lengthy post but hopefully somewhat informative.
  7. Any updates about this? Maybe we can contact TB again? - on Jay2, some maps TBS does rate TSP (like, secret weapon I believe) and others TBS times out. Which is strange, since TBS works fine on Silent.
  8. That's cause the URL he posted isn't correct. Please post the *full* url, you just posted "https://eu.battle.ne...ow2&r=eu&i=true/" notice the missing .net/etc/ow2 part?
  9. Silent #1 - like many others who prefer silent #1 have said it's mostly about the people; besides that it's neat - one of the things I like the most is the ability to select mp40/thompson (and ppsh depending on your class) regardless of which team your in < it really does beat picking up an half empty smg. I like HC too, mostly the friendly fire - although in the times I played there there were still people throwing airstrikes near their team *sigh*
  10. In this case, you shouldn't wait a week. You should wait till she's over him otherwise the chances that it'll last is extremely low.
  11. Your always still free to request a config - but you should make the information (posted by DareDevil) available for us to read. - However, I would advice you to look into creating your own config, this will help you much more than we can. By creating your own config you'll be learning and you'll be able to modify and fine tune the config to your precise needs. If you do so, your also free to post your config in this same forum section (create a new topic though) and we can look through it and comment, and even use the config if you allow us.
  12. I agree with what the other say about databases, you should at the very least be familiar with MySQL and phpMyAdmin (if your a beginner with MySQL databases, it's a very useful tool). Knowledge of CSS is also very important; as for HTML5, sure you can use the markup - but I strongly suggest only to use what is widely known and supported (stick to what's globally known); the specs aren't even done yet and besides that, there are two different organisations working on their own version! I too use Softaculous on my servers, it's a very handy application. Slightly offtopic @PiNoY: Personally I've been thinking of writing my own or using another, Softaculous is cheap but I have a feeling it isn't well written, maybe that's just cause they ioncube'd the source and of course their mirrors are very slow - which is a huge inconvenience!
  13. I think the choice of weapon in silent mod is one of the nicest features. Any chance we can leave the weapon choice? Maybe hold a poll about it if there are multiple difference of opinions?
