Windows7 +VMware + XP = No networking

28 March 2010 - 04:41 PM

Having issues with setting up my network with XP inside windows 7 with VMware.  I have googled for days now with no luck to my issue.  Only thing that I can see that looks fishy is that when I do "ipconfig" inside virtual machine, it does not show that I have a MAC Address..  Hmmmm..

I am pretty much lost at this point.  I have used the NAT, I have bridged the connections to use the host network, but just no luck..

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Moving

14 March 2010 - 01:21 AM

So I am packing up w0nder HQ and moving it across the country.

In about 3 and half weeks I will be leaving Seattle, Washington and driving to Montpelier, Vermont.  I am moving to focus on my schooling and just for a new change of environment.  I was taking online classes, but now I will be attending a University and in a class room.. Yikes, kind of scary, but also very excited.  Anyway, I am going to take my sweet time driving the 3200 miles east on I90, and I was thinking I would make some sort of video/photo diary of my journey.  I just got a new laptop so I can update while I am on the move.  I am planning on stopping at a lot of neat places along the way and taking lots of pictures for you all to see.  Does anyone live in between Seattle and Vermont along the I90 corridor?  If so and you know of any "must see" places, let me know.  I am always up for something fun if its not out of my way.

Anyway, I will either update this one in a few weeks with my journey diary or I will start a whole new thread, because I have a feeling it is going to be big.

Ohhh also, I am so into great micro breweries, but I do not have the time to look them all up along the way.  If you know of a really great one along my way, please for the love of ale, let me know.

Ok, well until then...  Toodles.. :yahoo

Linux gaming

01 March 2010 - 07:06 AM

Are there any Linux native gamers?

I am in love with a few of them, but I have no friends that play them.

*Urban Terror
*Nexuiz
*Assault Cube

If you do play these games, lets share server lists and play together.

iw3mp.exe has stopped working

26 February 2010 - 03:46 PM

I reinstalled a fresh copy of windows 7 home 64, I updated all my drivers, I installed xfire and xfire plus music plug in and then COD4.  I went to patch to 1.5 but it told me I already had it.  I then got pbsetup, updated COD4.  I then went to xfire and selected FA Hardcore COD4.  The screen goes black instantly like it is going to load, then back to desktop with a small box "iw3mp.exe has stopped working"

I thought maybe it was my HD audio Realtek BS so I deleted those drivers completely to see if that infact was the issue.. This time when loading it almost looked as if it was going to load.. Went to black screen but this time I saw a mouse cursor and it was in a different resolution, then back to desktop, same error.  I got nothing.  I would really like to play this game again but have not been able to get it working.

Specs:

Windows 7 home 64

Realtek HD audio driver (version 6.0.1.5888 marked date @7/6/2009 and no updates available)
