Works for with Action script 3.0

HOW TO CREATE STOP AND PLAY BUTTONS

Insert a new layer and rename it buttons.

Create your buttons. Make one for stop and another for play. Make sure to give your instance names for you buttons.

Select your stop button on the stage.

Go to Window in your main menu and choose Actions. (Shortcut F9).

In your actions panel check to make sure you have your stop button selected.

Type this script (no spaces):
on(press){stop( );}

Select your play button on the stage.

If you closed your Actions window open it up again (hit F9 or go to Window and to Actions).

In your actions panel check to make sure you have your play button selected.

Type this script(no spaces):
on(press){play( );}

Your movie should now stop and play.
