Robert Leo Hulseman, inventor of the Solo red cups, died on Dec. 21 at age 84. The family man started working at the Solo Red Cup Company when he was 18 years old and worked his way up to CEO, inheriting the business from his father in 1980. “He was known as an innovator, a hands-on manufacturing expert, and an industry pioneer,” Hulseman’s obituary read.
