It appears that the first Ashes of the Singularity benchmarks for AMD’s new graphics card, the Radeon RX490, have appeared online. According to them, this new graphics card from AMD will be almost as fast as NVIDIA’s GTX1080.

AMD’s Radeon RX490 is said to to target 4K resolutions and be ideal for VR gaming, will be – most likely – powered by the Vega 10 architecture, and will be priced closely to NVIDIA’s GTX1080.

And as we can see, in Ashes of the Singularity, this new GPU from AMD performs almost as good as the GTX1080. Now we should point two things: a) AMD’s drivers may further improve performance and B) Ashes of the Singularity is a game that favoured AMD’s GPUs, meaning that in other titles this card may not come close to the GTX1080.

As always, we strongly suggest taking these results with a grain of salt.

There were four benchmarks that were conducted under DX11. The settings that were used were: Crazy, Standard, Low and Low. In addition, a Standard 1080p DX12 test was compared to other tests that were conducted with other GPUs. In that DX12 test, we see this AMD’s new GPU performing similarly to NVIDIA’s GTX1080.

AMD will most likely release the Radeon RX490 in the first quarter of 2017.

"Ashes of the Singularity is a game that favoured AMD’s GPUs" it´s not like AMD made a exclusive deal with game developers, it´s just Nvidia doesn´t support Acync Compute in hardware.

Vega was supposed to come out next year, already preparing to launch? Some rumors said it could be dual-GPU Polaris 10 aka RX480, I thought the same when RX480 came out.
