we need a clear definition of mine jumping

obviously there is many people doing mine jumping, specifically Minas. im hearing mods allowing it, some not allowing it and that there is no clear definition by admins regarding the use of mine jumping on the forum or wiki. could we get a clear result so players can find what is ok and what is not.

Could be put into group with this rule:

 

 

Exploiting a bug or glitch on any map to gain advantage over the enemy is not allowed. Admin will warn you 3 times and after that admin may decide to put you in spec or to kick you out of the servers, so fair play can be maintained. Repeated rule breaking of this rule after couple kicks will result in short to long term ban depending on what admin sees fit.

 

As its somehow a bug with a glitch, specially if a player is using it to hop over different spawns without blowing the doors first, which we don't allow it, maybe a leader can clear it a bit better, considering that's how i see it here.

after 5 mins trickjump is allowed aslong as long as does not interfere with the flags......i said AFTER 5 MINS, ...after that 

 

wiki rules state you CAN jump aslong as your not messing spawns up

but dont you think someone could mine jump from the ground in minas to a higher level or even do the obj

Our rules are made as a general regulation.. Minas is a bit special and one of these exceptions.. In the meaning that no matter the means used (mines, nades, panzer), skip a stage (door) in the accomplishment of objective, causes a malfunction of spawns and therefore messes up the map. That's why in this case, this is not allowed.

 

 

But we can't make specific rules for each map.. Our wiki rules pages would turn into an encyclopedia. In such cases, common sense and knowledge are essential and the key.

Wiki rule says TJ is allowed after 5 min. and nothing else. While jumping alone doesn't do any harm to gameplay, it is hard to track what player will do or not. Especially if 2 or more players jump over. Once the dyno is planted and gate skiped, we can safely assume the match is ruined. I am not willing to play kids police every match on minas tirith. I like the map and wanna enjoy it as others. It is a nice rule to warn players 3x, but I do this now only to obviously new players. All regulars are put to spec once, if they continue they get kicked. They know the rules, no need to play a dummy.

 

We need a third rule which will state that game/map glitches are forbidden to exploit.

Ugh, I completely forgot on the above general rules, sorry!

 

OK, then if someone is using landmines for WJ/TJ on any map, we can consider this as breaking the rule nr. 14? Or just for Minas Tirith? I would treat this as a breaking of rule nr. 14 on any map and completely forbid it. Easier for admins, and more fair for gameplay, since this is a glitch, should actually not be possible.

 

Also, do we forbid WJ on Minas completely or only skipping gates when blowing them up? The 1st is manageable, the 2nd almost impossible when server is full.
