Teams balance vs score

Hi guys,

I searched for a clear rule for such situations but apart from threads, I didn't find anything carved in stone.

Scenario is :

When I connect it's 3 humans vs 2.

Scores are something like 30K to 40K.

If I join the 3 to balance, I would be joining the strongest scoring team.

Anything in the rules about how to handle that ?

If thats the scenario ask the player from the 3 to join the 2 than u can join that.....

or else join the team with 2 and play along.. cause in some point after certain spawn changes the other team dominates...So if that doesnt help u have !put command use it and make the teams fair :)..

I always check with scores but i dont really rely totally on scores i see players too like some regulars if they are on my team and our score is low i wait cause i know we all can beat them just need some time... TAB + /score is the best way to go...

It's very difficult to write something in stone about that. What I do is something we can not demand from everyone: I wait in spec until my joining would be less ambiguous.

What I would do in your case with only 5 players, is ask the weakest player from the team of 3 to go to the strong team of 2. If he listens, you can join the weaker team. If he doesn't, you can still use putteam.

I've been trying to type a rule based on the proportion between the player difference and the scores difference, but really... It all depends on the situation. Use common sense :)

Teams will never be 100% even in any cases :P

When we ask to keep teams even it's, in fact, to keep them more or less even, keep them even as much as you can.

In the situation you mentioned there is nothing much you could have done;

Just join the team you can, play and if you notice that the other team is being destroyed just !putteam yourself to the other team

Or

As Plato said, wait a bit. But sometimes it can take a while :P

Since the scores were really uneven, I first tried to help the lowest scores who were stuck in progressing on the map.

But after a few mn, the best players among the "2" pointed out that it was now 4 vs 2.

I replied with a smile that scores were dam unbalanced, but the guy didn't appear to agree.

So as u suggested all, I ended spec watching them play   :D

You should suggest to progress of map, as well. In your case, that two guys could be Rambo medics who didn't play objective, but they were just seeking for preys whilst the objectives were accomplished and those 3 weaker guys in unbalanced scores' result won the map.

One problem is the Bots. Many times, when I play early in the morning, teams are 13-12 with several bots on each team and the one with 13 is many times the weaker team - but has the lowest score, I mean. If I join the one with 12, it's not fair because it gives the stronger team, with the highest score a human player, making them even stronger. When I was lvl 10, I'd just move a bot so I could join the weaker team. Now, like Platonic said, I just wait til the teams even out

as dovah said they won't be even for 100%

i always wait, i check scores but i also look at map happening. as said above only rambo medics won't win a map but for sure they are "stronger" so i choose the other one.

it always depends on situation, i guess the longer u play, the more experienced u get, the more u can decide what is right or wrong, even if it was a wrong decision, u sill have chance to change / switch or whatever =)
