Carbonautics Posted October 5, 2016 Share Posted October 5, 2016 Hey, I think I found a thing which is annoying me, i have a 1.5mbps internet, and this thing[ look at attachment] is using 90% of my bandwidth, its a windows process, so i cant even ebnd that task, What do I do please help!!!! I have win-10 Pro and I also have (17) sub-processes in that Service, using 21.6MB of RAM, with 0% for CPU, Disk and Network. Click on the " > " to see what they are. Windows might be downloading updates, but should decrease network activity when you use your network. Start ET, connect to a server and then check what percent of the bandwidth that service is using. So, if I was you, I wouldn't try to kill all these processes without checking their use\nature. What you can do is to set some services either to manual either to disabled directly through the panel of Windows services (to open it, Windows key+R and type services.msc). But, be aware that you probably will (and shouldn't try) never be able to stop all these services since most are needed to run your system properly or to keep it stable. In few words, most are purely and simply needed and shouldn't be stopped. Therefore, change the state of some services according your needs\use but also those of your pc in order to run properly. This might decrease a bit the use of your bandwidth\pc ressources even though it's not a significant improvement. In "Protection" tab, click on "Immunize". Its a free tool. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processexplorer.aspx start it and you can drill down into the service host task and see what tool is using it. This will make this table a bit less muddled. 2. understand your OS column as default settings of all these services. 3. and look at the infos before the table: Table Header Information DEFAULT ~ What MS thinks should be running on Windows 10. “Safe” Configuration ~ This is the configuration that 95% of the people will be able to use with little or no side effects. It will also minimizes the amount of “errors” that is reported in the Event Viewer. This does not guarantee it will work for you, but if adjusting your services scares you, this configuration would be a good starting point. One should also take a moment and think about issues that may arise; for example: if you use an Xbox and its’ game streaming capabilities, don’t disable the three Xbox services as I have. -33 service settings out of 223 have been changed from the default annotated by an (*) asterisk. “Tweaked” Configuration ~ This is the configuration that a lot of gamers, geeks and power users enjoy using and ask me for. Even though I follow this configuration myself, this does not guarantee it will work for you. Even though this is a tiny difference, this is a big part of what some softwares do in promising an improvement of their gaming experience.. Like gamebooster for example that is used by lot of gamers.
