It should be possible to get  decent case <100.-, that 20-30.- invest in a better PSU: EVGA G2\Corsair RMX series. ~50.- are good enough in budget build, a PC with 130.- case + i7 isn´t that for sure;)

Also SSD prices are dropping, by now I´d go with non-Samsung 500GB(Crucial MX 300 with 3D-VNAND and better price or sandisk X400 series) SSD and in future take 1 TB SSD(they go as low as 230.- already), that 3TB HDD can be bough for backup as USB 3.0 external HDD. And new cases come already those builds in mind, newer cases don´t have 15 HDD racks anymore, only hidden SSD places under the "PSU plate" or under the motherboard tray.

HDD is necessary still as data on SSD-s is NOT recoverable if SSD would malfunction.

Thats what I would do at least. (My preferable case would be Silent Base 800(900 is pointless), for silent build)

I will take a look at those. This week I do have some extra money so I'm either going to buy the motherboard, the GPU, for the CPU. So those ideas I'm looking for right away

I mean like, is there a range that you have? $500-$700? Something like that? If you can give a price range, We can get a better idea and put together something nice.

Less tran 300 each for the CPU, GPU and MB. Around 200 each ou a bit more would be best

Redy gave you a pretty good heads up.

CPU - i5-6600K $230

GPU - RX 480, GTX 1060, R9 390, GTX 970 If you're looking for something reasonably priced. If you've got money to splurge < GTX 1070/1080. Ranges from $300 - $700

Mobo - Asus Z170-A $150 https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Z170-A-ATX-DDR4-Motherboards/dp/B012NH05UW/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1473372439&sr=1-1&keywords=Z170+a

RAM - Has to be DDR4 and up to 3000mhz for the MOBO, Just make sure it's 8gbs +. Popular brands include Corsair or Kingston.

Case - Any ATX case is good. Good brands include, Corsair, Thermaltake, Cooler Master. You don't need to splurge on a case, unless you really want to customize it.

PSU - 700W, I say this because you may want to SLI or Crossfire. Go for an EVGA (preferrably) , Corsair, If you don't know which one you want. There are different models, but if you want a Go-to one, click here :

CPU Cooler- Ol' reliable Cooler Master Hyper 212, Or you can be fancy with a Corsair Water cooler. Ranges from $30-$120

https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-RR-212E-20PK-R2/dp/B005O65JXI/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1473372408&sr=1-1&keywords=cooler+master+hyper+212+evo

HDD or SSD is something you'd have to figure out- If you want absolute speed through Windows, Get an SSD. If you want storage and you don't need blazing fast speeds but fast performance nonetheless, Get a 7200RPM HDD.

Or you can have both, just install Windows onto the SSD for the speed and keep the HDD for games.

You can get an Sandisk Ultra 2, 480GBS for $120 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-2-5-Inch-Height-SDSSDHII-480G-G25/dp/B00M8ABFX6/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1473372357&sr=1-1&keywords=Sandisk+ssd

And a Seagate 1TB  HDD $70 - https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Gaming-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST4000DX001/dp/B00EIQTOFY/ref=sr_1_11?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1473372375&sr=1-11&keywords=Seagate

You can get an Optical disk drive if you feel you really need it. I don't even use mine.

You're gonna want CPU fans as well for good intake and exhaust. Corsair sells you like a set of 2 120mm fans for $20.

I think we're pretty close on MB's. Yours is about 25.00 cheaper, so I'll compare and see which I like better.

Corsair and ASUS are me preferred brands so we're on the same page there and I'm all into EVGA. For RAM, I'm thinking 16GB and upgrader to 32 later.

I also was thinking about upgrading the CPU cooler. Stock coolers aren't always the best. BTW, I'm pretty well decided to go Core I7

And SSD all the way!

Any reason that you want the 6700K over the 6600K?

Why do you want the other Mobo?

If you're trying to splurge, then I get it.

B)

I don't necessarily, I just haven't really compared yet.

The problem is, there's just too damn many. Too many MB's, too many GPU's, too many everything to choose from. How do you know you're really getting the best deal, best component for what you want to do with it? It's crazy

thats where the people that earn there $$$ with building computers, or working in IT support have their web pages and resources to compare components.

for example:

http://www.tomshardware.com/ is one of my favorites. They have charts, test, documentation and just about everything computer component wise.

or as mentioned by Vetter earlier:

http://www.userbenchmark.com They have the hot deals, prices and comparisons. The site is awesome to find what components fit together.

Dont forget a cooler for the CPU. the i7-6700k and i5-6600k don't come with a stock one.

I'm actually looking to upgrade my MOBO and CPU and I might buy the i7-6700k + Asus Z170-A + DDR4 16GB (Corsair vengeance lpx) + the cpu cooler.

Your 2nd build is pretty much this hahaha. I already own a GTX 970 tho

From what I read the difference between the 6700 and 6700K are not worth the extra money

yes, cpu cooler, case, PSU, optical drive etc are extra.

Here the comparison: (I would recommend to spend the 12$ more and go for the K. the 6700K gives you 15% more performance)

If you are buying part by part, then I´d start with PSU\case and then move to mobo\cpu, those parts tend to not change so often and prices are more stable. GPU and RAM prices fluctuate more, RAM might rise but DDR4 is new, so it probably fall more.

GTX 1070\1080 prices are bumped up, those are mid-range cards and sold for high end prices, I hope AMD-s VEGA will drop the prices in 6 month period- VEGA will come out in 1st half of 2017. So I´d leave GPU to the last.

SSD prices will fall as 3D VNAND will poor to the market from now on. There will be shortage of NAND for a while, but the prices are already dropping with every month. 1TB will go for ~200.- already, from 250.- from 6 month ago braking point. MX 300>BX200\100 and it costs less and has more room(extra 25GB;))

Samsung EVO 250 isn´t the fastest out there, especially when you compare it to other 500GB versions. With 500 GB "other brand" one gets 2x space for ~same money and comparable performance. Newegg lists evo for ~100 and for 15-20 more you´d get 2x space, 250GB models perf~500GB perf due to parallelism in SSD design.(http://www.thessdreview.com/featured/sandisk-x400-ssd-review-512gb/5/ see where EVO 850 120GB version is, down in the bottom of the list vs 500GB "other brands")

But I came here to make a note about DDR4, I´ve really not seen a test where in games 3200Mhz vs 2666Mhz has a big advantage, so either save money and get 2666Mhz CL14 1.2V kit, or if you want higher Mhz then get 3200Mhz CL 14 Gskill kit. Wouldn´t go higher than CL14. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232205

CL over Mhz!

If you can´t decide which GPU to get then ask yourself which games do you play more. "AMD games"- DOOM,  Hitman, Tomb raider, Thief or "Nvidia games"- GTA V, Witcher etc

I don´t see a reason to get pricier GTX 970 with older tech(bad VR support) vs better performing GTX 1060?

Also are you aiming 1440p gaming or 1080p FHD gaming on 144Hz or 60Hz monitor. You go from there- FHD RX 480\GTX1060, FHD 144Hz or 1440p then GTX 1070+
