Thing is people will buy it for 50$ once it's released but when it comes to donation only few decide to donate. We had BF3 when it was released and no member played on it much so we had closed it down. Maintaining + populating server is not an easy task. Gengis Cost means - Every server is not free. You will have to pay GSP xx amount for xx slots. xx is variable. So 50$ every month additional on our current expense is tough for me right now. I don't have any room. If someone is willing to donate - Please let me know. We can work something out. Maintaining - You will have to configure server, maintain it i.e. any issues comes up be ready to fix it - it might be midnight or during when you are sick. You got to get on IIRC and contact the staff for the host to fix it fast. You also need to maintain add-ons and keep up with latest changes. For the first time since 2008, I have slacked on ET servers update i.e. silEnT mod update on all servers. That tells me enough, that I don't have any extra time right now. So if some one is willing to do it, I am all for the support. Populating - That's the big game. You need to put shit load of effort without giving up. You need to plan on how you are gonna make it popular and recruit members/players who will help along the way. Now let's say if 50 people said they will help you only 1-5 will do if you are lucky. Also we have an Insurgency server ... if we have effort to do ... we could be better to concentrate on populating that server first cuz i went back to that game yesterday since Shoes ask for help in recruiting there. DrTurdle Posted November 9, 2016 Share Posted November 9, 2016 BF 1 looks VERY appealing to me, though some things which hold me back paying THAT much money for a FPS with a single player campaign of only ~5hours. Although I've heard BF 1 does not support third party servers, meaning they only run official servers and so we couldn't set one up even if we wanted to.
