Catalepsy Posted December 26, 2015 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Hey there everyone,I started a YouTube channel a few months back and have been steadily releasing videos of myself doing Let's Plays for a few weeks now. I would love it if anyone interested would go to the channel, which you can find at the bottom of this entry or in my profile - you can copy and paste the link into your browser to be taken straight to my upload page or just click it at the bottom of this thread. I have, so far, only played a few games on it but I have plans to play a LOT more games and create more content like; Vlogs showing my life in Hawaii or trips I'm taking while here to various sites and activities, Comments reading (if the channel gets more than a few comments), fun co-op let's plays. The channel just started and I know the videos aren't on par with people like PEWDIEPIE, MARKIPLIER, JACKSEPTICEYE, CINNAMONTOASTKEN, ETC. ETC. but I'm going to be trying to do things better as time continues on and I have more time to do so.So far the only games I have up as Let's Plays are;DEAD SPACE 1 - A third-person alien horror/shooter game where you play Isaac Clarke, an engineer, sent to retrieve a derelict space ship that has lost contact with the home station and find out whats going on with it. Getting into fights with the hideously transformed staff of the ship and insane scientists experimenting with the technology they unearthed from a nearby planet while combing it for resources and also completing puzzles. This game has two sequels that I'm interested in playing as well.You'll see me screaming at my computer in horror of the things that are happening and maybe get a laugh out of how bad I am at shooting with an xbox controller. Also there is commentary over each video in the series, so you'll get to hear me - I don't talk TOO much because I don't want to completely ruin the game for people, but I do my fair share of talking and expressing my feelings about the game and what is happening in it.BEN AND ED - A 3D running simulator where you play a zombie(ED) who has been separated from your best friend(BEN), you must make it through huge obstacle courses to rescue him and collect the cans of meat in pyramids spread through the levels to unlock new levels. This game is beyond fun, its got a GREAT soundtrack and interesting mechanics where you can literally throw your head to get through obstacles but also you can lose limbs and hobble around, or crawl awkwardly through the courses.You'll see me getting incredibly frustrated with almost completing sections and getting sent back to checkpoints and me making an ass of myself on obstacle courses, with fun and funny commentary.SOMA - A first person horror/sci-fi game where you play Simon Jarrett - a man who wakes up in the future after a brain scan at a laboratory and you have to try to figure out what the hell is going on in this place, why you've been awakened and what the heck has happened to you. You encounter robotic enemies, puzzles and interesting philosophical/moral dilemmas that change the gameplay as you go on.You'll see me struggle with simple things, run screaming away from robots and try to figure out whether or not to kill people in this game. There are no weapons, you don't fight people or the robots you encounter. The makers of this game created Amnesia: The Dark Descent/A Machine For Pigs and the Penumbra series. It's got a great, creative and absolutely captivating story that keeps you entertained as well as thinking. It's a beautiful game and is very well done with beautiful scenery.And the last game right now is LAYERS OF FEAR - A first person horror game where you play a man coming to grips with the things he's done while unraveling a heinous plot and working to find artifacts in your ever changing and terrifying house of horrors. You collect these artifacts that help you piece together the painting you have made and you are being chased pretty much the entire time by an enemy that proves to be incredibly scary and insatiable in its pursuit.You'll see me try to be calm and not scream at the horrors that are surrounding me but ultimately lose fairly often to the atmosphere of the game and its ambient sounds/effects. It's a beautifully crafted and aesthetically stunning game with an intriguing story. I'll be searching drawers, cupboards and everywhere else in the world to gather these artifacts and piece together the story.If any of this sounds interesting to you I ask that you take a look at the channel and let me know what you think. I know I've been updating my status about my YouTube channel quite a bit and pretty often and I don't mean to flood the status box with my name so I wanted to start a thread about this, hopefully that's not too much and it's in the right place for this. What I'll be trying to do with this thread is keep everyone who's interested in it updated with information about what I'm doing on the channel or when new videos are going up. So far I don't have a set schedule on updates, I've got some off time coming up here soon where I intend to record a boat load of new stuff and have a queue of videos to set a schedule up. Right now there are about 45 videos up, 30+ of DEAD SPACE, a few of BEN AND ED, a few of SOMA and only one episode right now of LAYERS OF FEAR.If you like the videos please do me a favor and click the like button on them.If you think I could be doing things better please comment on the videos and let me know. I appreciate all feedback and criticism - positive or negative. Also if you can think of series' I should do, leave a comment and tell me what you think would be fun to see.If you like the overall vibe and the series' I have already put up, please hit the subscribe button and you will know when I put up new videos and anything else on the channel that changes.I'm simply one guy who loves to play video games and making people laugh.
