Also, can somone explain to me the demo option bar and what everything does and how to make them work ? Moreover, do I able to watch the player stats ? (K/D, Acc etc..) Thank you Puni. I wonder if you downloaded a demo file from FA and are trying to view it now. When you download the file, you have to put it into the mod-folder\demos that the demo was made from. If you downloaded a silent demo and put it into your jaymod demo-folder....hmmm, I will have to go try to do that now and see what happens. Test Results: Jaymod trying to play a Silent demo = "Jaymod version mismatch" Jaymod, when trying to play a demo where the map,pk3 has been renamed, ET gives no error in main screen, but in console: ************************ ERROR: Disconnected from server ************************ I suspect that the map-file that you have might be corrupted, as the mapname.bsp is the actual map within the mapname.pk3. Leader RedBaird Posted January 22, 2015 Leader Share Posted January 22, 2015 I was able to replicate the problem with two methods: 1) remove the pk3 file that the demo was made with from etmain 2) remove the bsp file from the pk3 file. I lost the SS, but did get this in console: ******************** ERROR: Couldn't load maps/caen2.bsp ******************** Which is what the error window said on the main screen said. You probably lost or deleted the map-file.pk3 that the demo(s) were made with. You can check and see if it or they exist in your etmain folder. You can download missing files,pk3 from the 588 map files in http://fearless-assassins.com/files/category/4-maps/ I think that demo-watching controls are described in the ET Manual. I know that you can do some commands while watching demos, but not all. It may say "not connected to server" if that info was not saved with the demo file. One ODD THING: when searching for my missing SS, I found in Jaymod\screenshots files named shot0002.tga to shot0644.tga = 641 files = 1.40 GB I think that ET was saving a TGA file of each some frames as I watched a test demo! Yes, I could hold my finger on the next-pic in my pic-viewing program, and it played like a demo. I must have had an accidental key-press, then. I was thinking that "save each frame" would have produced more TGA files, but 60fps saved would have produced over 3600 TGAs for a minute of viewing. 30fps would produce 1800 for each minute. If the demo file has the name of the map it was made with, then make sure that you have that map file in your etmain folder. I have a demo named "2015-01-21-014607-caen2.dm_84" in my jaymod\demos folder. If I remove the caen2.pk3 file from my etmain folder and try to view that demo file, then i will get " ERROR: Couldn't load maps/caen2.bsp " like you did. You can try to view that demo again and when you see "cannot load the map XXX.bsp", then the XXX.pk3 file is probably missing from your etmain folder. It might be corrupted. Let's just try starting from scratch and see if any of the basics were forgotten. 1) Take a new demo to be sure your demo file isn't corrupted. I assume you're using jaymod. 2) Download Sunlight's demoviewer 3) Put it in your enemy territory folder and start it 4) Click 'mods' on the left, in the middle 5) Double click jaymod 6) Click replays (left) 7) Double click the demo you have just recorded Do you succeed at viewing a demo this way? What you can do: I'm not the best person to help you but I can tell you a few of the basics. -Increase your speed by putting /timescale >1 -Decrease your speed by putting /timescale <1 -See trough the walls with /r_shownormals 1-5, undo by r_shownormals 0 -Take screenshots, view scores etc like normally ingame -Unlag the demo by typing /demo_unlag (ping) into the console -Much more, but this might be a start. I know it's a lot of basic stuff, but I'm trying to figure out what part of the demoviewing is going wrong. If your ET somehow got downgraded to 2.55, it might act like this???
