Hey, i use to play this game a long time ago, my alias was else, tcyr, tycy i have a couple.. i owned clans and had a server for a bit but that was about five years ago. i currently got a macbook pro, no longer using a windows computer. i tried multiple things and followed all the steps for downloading et for a mac. Symbol download error kept coming up when i tried to open et and it wouldnt get past the load page. If someone had this type of problem and can help me and show me how to get it working that would be great!

Hi I am sorry but anything 10.8 and above is not compatible with ET.

You can call apple and order Lion 10.7 or I would suggest bootcamp and run Windows on your mac when you want to play ET.

I wish Gubbi was still here he could explain that it has something to do with file paths.

Since apparently no one else is going to post a way to play, I will. Currently play a Macbook Pro running Mavericks. Annoying as shit that they got rid of PowerPC app compatibility but who cares you probably don't even know wtf I'm talking bout.

Anyways two solutions, I will tell you both and give you links.

1. Bootcamp your Mac OSX computer and partition a Windows OS on your HD

-Pretty much exactly what I said, lrn2google. You will need a copy of whatever version you want of windows and a little bit of above basic computer knowledge.

2. Run ETLegacy

-Probably easiest solution: http://etlegacy.com/ I will assume you can ready install instructions on their website, I know I + DingDongWang can confirm it works on Mac OSX

PS. My suggestion is bootcamp, frankly having the ability to switch back and forth between OS' makes me very happy, I can run literally any program this way. Also Windows OS is pretty awesome.

  • 3 weeks later...

Removing Rosetta did not break the Mac client as it's an Intel application. Apple removed Open Transport in 10.9. I just wanted to verify that the ET Legacy client does work. You simply have to install the normal 2.60d client and move pak0.pk3, pak1.pk3, and pak2.pk3 from etmain to the ET:L etmain. A picture guide can be found here.
