There is no such thing as the "best setting", only what works best for you.

First thing to do is to disable your mouse acceleration and setting the sensitivity bar half way (6/11), for 1:1 ratio output.

There is a calculation though to have as a baseline... (Vertical # of pixels at in-game resolution) x 2.667 / inches required to make a 180 degree turn.

This shows how much dpi is actually useful for the sensitivity and resolution you wish to play at. For example if I play at 1024x768 and want to turn 180 in 3 inches, it would say I need at least 700dpi to do that and still have pixel accuracy inside the game.

I use a Razor Deathadder.  really love this mouse.  has adjustable dpi and hertz also.  Played for a while with it maxed out at 3500dpi but using a program called MouseRate.exe you can check how stable your hertz are as you move the mouse.  When i had the dpi maxed and the polling rate maxed (@ 1000) I was getting choppy results.  Moving the mouse around it would go from 1000 hertz then drop to 2 or 3 hertz.  This is a problem when fractions of seconds are the difference from a kill and a death.  Brought the settings down to 1800dpi and 125 polling rate. Used the mouserate.exe program again and had a stable 125 hertz the whole time I was using my mouse.  Stability is paramount for success.  But as Xernicus stated, "there is no such thing as a best setting".51MtCyB0HyL._SL1200_.jpg
