Here's something I thought I'd share with you all. It's been sitting on my computer now for a few weeks, converted from RAW and ready to share. Originally posted on 500px.

Mountain Bell Macro

I figure I'll make a "gallery" of this topic of my macro photos. Here's a second one, taken around Washington Pass.

Taking macros is simply something that takes patience and practice. In my case, I've had about 5 years of learning from two professional photographers. But that doesn't matter- instead go out and do what you can. In your case, if all you have is a cell phone camera, just go as close as you can, and whatever you do, *do not* use zoom, as that adds grain.

Depending on where you live, I'd be willing to send you one of my old cameras for free. I've got no use for it atm, and I'd like to see it go to good use. It is a point and shoot (you can still get macros with a steady hand), but has some manual controls which is nice and a good lens. Of course, I'd have to find it first... :P

ATM, I do not have a deviantart account, I'm posting my photos on 500px. I have been thinking of making a DA account however.

Here's two more, another silhouette of a leaf, and blooming moss. Both taken the same day... 7/13/14 according to Camera Raw.

Oh we're practically neighbors then- I live in the US ;) so it shouldn't be a problem at all. I know the pain of unemployment quite well- as I was in that situation not long ago, and I still have a lot of debt to pay off from then despite it being many months ago. And even if you can get a camera for around 1k pesos that's a big chunk out of the food budget.

And I'd be happy to give you tips and tricks. It's always awesome to find another real photo enthusiast.

I botched up the focusing a bit, oh well.

It's amazing to see the varieties of wire lettuce that grow on opposite sides of the continent. They all look the same, with only variations in the density of color and petal number. BTW great photos. I love macro. What is vignette?

I like this, Nature is so beautifull, so simple, so peacefull...

I like close-ups the most, it gives a detailed view of the beauty of nature.
