Winston Churchill Public School is located at 100 Milford Avenue in Waterloo Ontario. We have approximately 250 children attending our school this year. We are working very hard on having a New Natural Outdoor Learning and Play Space built at our school. It will be a fun and educational space for our students to learn and grow in. Our new play space will be built on a hill with many levels to the play and will replace the current monkey bars that are there. There isn't any parks in the area so the local community would benefit from a new playground in the area as well. We have our plan and design in place and would be prepared to start building in the spring if we receive the funding needed. Please support our idea and help us bring natural play back to the children in our school and community. If you would like more information on our school and area please feel free to contact the school.
Once we have the funding needed we will be using it to remove our existing sandbox and monkey bars to build a three tiered play space for our full day kindergarten program. The play space will include a track with a log bridge for tricycles, zigzag or wobble logs, a log climber, play posts, log tables and log stools, log steps, a water wall with removable parts, stock tank planters, a flat log ladder, boulder seating, a no mow zone and sand play area. We will also be placing art panels on the existing fence and planting several new trees for shade. Our funding will also help us purchase a shed for the storage of the removable parts of our Natural Kindergarten Space.
