Didn´t have a chance to use even paypal also till couple of years ago local banks introduced "virtual credit card". Strangly enough my euros "seemed" on bank account like butchered cows and camels to paypal staff so couldn´t link my bank account with paypal, don´t think I still can. So yeah strange but thats how it is.

And still can´t access shows on Netflix etc... with reason: "Sorry your IP is from Mars and can inflict our servers with gay pr0n so your IP is blocked"

Luckily enough I´m "allowed" to buy games from gamefly\steam\origin.

Else it wasn´t really many choices. And since I have the same chance to get games like western civilised world I only buy originals. Hope more copyright holders( and notice that they usually have nothing much to do with people who actually put effort in producing music\games\movies) would understand it.

In which country do you live? Isn't there a simple 'cash on delivery' option offered by the postal service? So you can buy something online and pay cash to the postman when you get it delivered. Just curious...Well, that access problem to some foreign websites and services do we also have in germany, can be circumvented by using proxy server/websites or tor-network. But that is more a restriction of the service providers who block foreign ips and not of your homecountry.

As a software developer I think it's hypocrite to use illegal software.

My brother is also a developer, he worked for IBM for two years in berno, and he also uses cracked softwares not that he wants to but he have to !!

Berno?

Although it may not be easy to buy software private at your region, I guess at IBM he used legal software?

Honestly, my cod4 isn't on steam, it's the disc version, but I run it using steam so I have steam in game. Anyway, I prefer legit copies of things, it's good to support the developers.

I bought a hard copy of COD4 in mid-2010. TBH I don't really like Steam... Well, I used to hate it but I got used to it so it's OK I guess.

Sounds like you are from Algeria?  Is this correct?

Tell us more about where you are from.   There are widely different parts of North Africa that have very different levels of modern conveniences.    Do you have cable TV in your house?  Satellite?  Do you have internet?  What is the place you live like?   rural?   a city?

Sounds like you are from an area that doesn't have many modern technologies, let alone internet or online banking.

Algeria is mainly built on wrong bases, after the war which ended 1962, we got internet and satellite Internet and TV, now for online banking, the part of creating the account is rather more sophisticated, however I was really interested in prepaid MasterCards, a bit easier to get and to handle and good for donating and buying games from Steam,

It should be possible to order online, shouldn't it?

Yeah it is possible, along with the 1 month+ wait period, my friend waited 3 months to get an iPod from Saudi Arabia lol, I'm really trying hard to be able to buy/sell through internet, and enjoy legit games and music,

I think there is a bit of a Language and Culture barrier here.

I think also we need to remember that although most of the Clan resides in the First world, (America, England or other Commonwealth Countries), some reside in the 2nd world (Not America or someone sworn to the Queen); and others, like the Original Poster (Shock Wave) live in what might be considered the 3rd world.

Although it would seem hard to understand for someone who has a Visa card, and does almost all banking online - much of the world is cash and carry. Much of the developing world, as I understand it, is tying their electronic commerce directly into their phones (IE like Google Wallet), steering clear of easily faked, duplicated credit cards.  If the OP says he has to go 300 miles - away to get to a bank, I believe him.

^^ Believing that the first world is only American or British Commonwealth is "a bit" insulting. Actually, you're on the f***ing edge of "I wish I had a ban button".

And I leave it to this. I could rant 'till a tl;dr.

It's true that not everyone has online banking, and it's a matter of numbers that some of those are within FA. Long time ago when I didn't had any money (I was 12) I cracking everything together as well. It's only a matter of time until you realize that cracking is not a solution.

I've found that getting the legit game is usually a lot simpler than trying to get a cracked game. The cracked ones end up not working after a while or crash.

Except for assassins creed, the cracked version is better. Ubisoft forces you to use their software (like steam), which would be fine except it doesn't work well. Plus two of the assassin creed games that I've bought, actually say that I didn't buy them. Their customer service is crap too, so I can't even get them back. So I got the cracked versions.

The concept of the First World first originated during the Cold War, involving countries that were aligned with the United States. These countries were largely capitalistic and self-proclaimed democracies.

It can be defined succinctly as Europe, plus the richer countries of the former British Empire (USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand) and Japan.

With the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Eastern Bloc ceased to exist; with it, so did all applicability of the term Second World.[18] The definitions of the First World and Third World changed slightly, yet generally described the same concepts.

http://en.wikipedia....***************

Nearly 25 years later, with the aggressive slide into socialism and communism, few IF ANY countries meet this description  It is unlikely that much, if any, of Europe could today be considered First world, however; I am not knowledgeable about the economies of the Low Countries, such as Duchy of Luxembourg. It could be reasonably stated that England, although not part of Europe, could be considered part of the European 2nd world. On the other hand Ireland would undoubtedly be a first world country.

Don't be mad because the British Empire built nearly the entire civilized world & continues to pay dividends for those peoples whose ancestors bleed to support it - ensuring a more prosperous life for their progeny - generations after its collapse.

Your text shows three things:

- You are capable of using Wikipedia

- You are very capable of finding the statements to prove you are right.

- You are from 'Murica.

Feel free to consider those three points positive.
