Your headphones?

Recommended Posts

Ok, i didnt find a topic like this one before, might be that i am wrong but lets start anyways. So couple simple guestions.

-What headphones you have

-Pros

-Cons

-Have you been happy with them?

-Possible product link?

I will start. I just bought myself roccat kave 5.1's. And they are amazing. From everything to movies to games they cut the job. Directional positioning atleast for me is pretty perfect. Rear driver seems to be maybe little bit less rear as you would like it to be, but the control panel cleared that out. turn down some volume from front and center drivers and kept rear at full volume. They dish out so much volume that i cant keep them up more than 60% from the volume bar or my ears actually hurt. Nice guality and nice sounds. 24% for CSGO. And i always have listened everytihng at full volume hence little eardamage from my odldd sirus 5.1 what my dog destroyed by chewing the cable xD Heres a link ./ http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Sound/ROCCAT-Kave-5-1/

Show me what you got!
<we get a nice headphones review here aswell>

And with my phone I use Sennheiser CX-300 II earbuds.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm currently using Atomic Floyd Superdarts after spending weeks trying to find a pair of good in ear headphones

Pros: They sound amazing, they cost a lot but they're worth it, just find some reviews

Cons: a bit heavy but you'll get used to them

They are the best earphones I've had

Past headphone experience: Ie use professional IEM's for music tech and recording purposes.

Where to get them: Apple store, here

Sony MDR XB-500

Decent headphones, they do what I need. Biggest con is the extremely short cord, I can't stray away from the headphone jack much at all.

Sennheiser HD595

Pros: awesome sound, comfortable, have lasted 5+ years unlike all my "gaming headphones"

Cons: expensive, made to be amplified with external amp, loud to others in a room since they are open ear, need to get an external mic and attach it like the zalman headphone mic

Beats by Dre Solo HD (Black) http://www.beatsbydre.com/headphones/beats-solohd-black/900-00011-01,default,pd.html

-Pros: Awesome sound that has become know from beats, blocks all outside noise, had them nearly two years no issues with sound. The wire detaches quickly in case you forget they are on, stylish?

-Cons: Padding on top broke off. Took about a year to wear in they were really tight on my head for a while. Being accused of WH because of great sound :D

-Have you been happy with them? Yes, best I have owned so far, no plans to replace unless they break.

I have quite a few,  Beyerdynamic that were really expensive that no one is allowed to touch. My main gaming rig I have a PC360 that I got on open box sale for 100 bucks and on my other gaming rig I have my ancient Creative Fatality headphones that my kids use which are still in good shape, and of course an assortment of different earbuds for laptops, tablets etc.

Cyber snipa sonar 5.1

Pros: they are very comfortable, great for the sound in the game, you can hear where is the enemy, and they are awesome to listen music.
Cons: usb connection; a few years ago had no external sound card, and I had to look headphones with usb connection, sound quality headphones with usb or cable connection varies widely.
I am very happy with them.

For a con, how about they become really uncomfortable after wearing them for a while?

Audio Technica ATH-AD700 Open air.

http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-AD700-Open-air-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B000CMS0XU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1372135995&sr=8-3&keywords=audio+technica+ath

Pros: Amazing mid range which is the best for gaming if you want to hear more footstep than big explosions. Their comfortable, can be worn all day without bothering you. You can hear whats going on in the enviornment due to open ear so you don't have to take them off if someones talking to you. No air pressure on ears like closed give you so you hear a more clear sound. $300 headphones for 100 bucks. THICK CORD I've run this over 100s of times and not even a dent. Music, Games, Movies all sound better than gaming headsets, more clear.

Cons: People can hear the sound from them due to open ear, not too loud though only if their turned up. Other sounds such as fans can get distracting but if you learn to tune it all out or just turn them up. They only come in purple. They give you a mohawk if you wear them long.

Between these and the pc151 and pc161 sennheisers, I love these 10x more. Sennheisers have thin cords but sound great. If you wanna spend over 200 bucks go get some sennheiser gamer heaphones the PC300 series, they will probably have the best sound for gaming without spending a rediculous amount of money for some top end audiophile. But I definately recommend Audio headphones over any gaming brand headset. Go get you a logitech mic and your set. You end up with a better mic and a better headset for same price or cheaper. Sennheiser is the only headset brand I would recommend, the rest like razer, steelseries, turtle beach are mostly gimmiks with a high price tag for their specs.
