Seemed like OpenGL cannot be loaded. Assuming that you can play ET normally, and you are running the program as Administrator, can you first try to rename your etconfig.cfg and autoexec.cfg to another one before trying Demoviewer again? Am not sure if that would work, just wanna test for a fresh ET config while Sun is soon to probably post his reply of his demoviewer.\\

If you can run PK3Cleaner too to see how it goes.

I downloaded a complete new ET and instaled it to a different folder! if i wanna play with this new ET it is possible, but runningthe demoview isnt possible.

Thats strange.

But this is just my university laptop/netbook - not very powerful:(

i want this demoviewer on it, to review when im not at home for example when im at my dads or at my gf house and i have no computer.

@SunLight: if you read this. do you have an idea why this is not working.

im home on tuesday and then ill try it on my computer and see if it works there :)

Thanks for the first help Pinoy

is there some sort of resolution setting? that was my OpenGL problem not too long ago. after i would exec my config it would load a different resolution and crash.

@SunLight: if you read this. do you have an idea why this is not working.

hmm, assuming that you are running ET 2.60b, and that you run my version in the same way and with the same options as regular ET, and that it's in the same place as ET.exe, and that you don't have any antivirus or similar which has a rule for standard et but not for mine and it blocks something, at the moment I can't think of a reason why it doesn't work...

After all I didn't change much if compared to et 2.60b, most things aside the new shownormals and player names aren't even graphics-related

Try to run standard et first if you don't have a config, then if it works ok, run my own with the same options, and in the same way you ran standard et

Maybe I could send you the latest build of v1.4 (which I think I'll never finish :) ) but I don't think it would make a difference, because I just added a new demo unlagger more similar to antilag, and improved player names visuals. Aside from that it's the same as 1.3 (edit: and I also fixed crashes in silent mod, when watching a demo from another player's point of view)

edit:

maybe if you post the full etconsole.log?

yes

weird problem, at the moment I have no ideas, aside from trying to make an autoexec and changing r_mode, r_colorbits or something else gfx related

or doing a +set r_mode ... in the command line

It could be that some things are different than 2.60b, since it's actually labeled as 2.60d

could you post the log when you start with normal et, as well? so we can compare

how do i get the log, when et is not crashing and i see the log only the 5 sec before the game starts?

put

logfile 1

(or even logfile 2)

in your autoexec.cfg or start ET adding +set logfile 2 in the commandline

you will find a file called etconsole.log (sometimes in etmain folder, sometimes in the folder of mod you load)

you don't need to post it all, maybe the first part when it says 'Initializing OpenGL subsystem' and related stuff.

1 is normal log, 2 is realtime but if the game doesn't crash there isn't much difference.

p.s.

(if the log is not too long and you can still see the message 'Initializing OpenGL subsystem' and what follows, when you open the console and scroll up in the main screen, you could simply:

/condump log.txt

I was writing the reply below the =========== line, when I noticed the 2.6d...which is the Macintosh version!

SunLight noticed your version "ET 2.60d win-x86 Nov 3 2012", and Angel asked your version and you replied B.

Download site:  Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory v2.60c - v2.60d Patch [Macintosh]

Are you using a Macintosh?

==================================================================

My startup display shows:

Initializing OpenGL driver

...getting DC: succeeded

...GLW_ChoosePFD( 32, 24, 0 )

...125 PFDs found

...hardware acceleration found

...PIXELFORMAT 7 selected

...creating GL context: succeeded

...making context current: succeeded

Your startup list does not show hardware accel found.  Can you run ET ok without DEMOviewer?

Your list also shows only 35 PFDs found, as opposed to my 125.  PFDs are PixelFormatDataDescriptors.  I wonder if this means you have an old version of openGL or if your graphics driver(s) is/are old.

Some people have reported fixing this problem by restoring an earlier graphics driver or by updating the driver..  I do know that Windows UPdate has offered me innapropriate graphics drivers in the past.

My version of OpenGL is dated 2008.
