I think you should run mtr a bit longer (23 packets is a bit too few to judge), but I don't see much lag in the first hop. Maybe the other japanese player you noticed has a different routing, so he doesn't lag because his packets pass from different nodes than yours? But you don't seem to have any packet loss from mtr. Packets sent from the server to you (server->client) are not affected by packetdup anyway. Do you see vertical red bars in your lagometer maybe? Remember that in order to have ping X to the server, your real ping should be Host Loss% Snt Last Avg Best Wrst StDev 216.155.146.19.choopa.net 0.0% 97 168.6 169.9 167.6 183.4 2.3 (MTR from windows doesn't show the standard deviation, that is from Linux) I think you get slowed down somewhere on your way to the server, but I could be wrong.
